Chapter 690: Chapter 209: The Wondrous Uses of the Purgatory Core

Over on Bai Quan’s side, after he boarded the shuttle boat.

Someone immediately came up to grasp his arm, wielding a small steel knife, and scraped the hand Bai Quan had just used to touch Chen Ming’s shoulder, while saying, ”Pupil, fingerprint, voiceprint have all been compared—confirmed as the real Chen Ming.”

”Skin fragment samples have been obtained; gene comparison can be done soon. If the genetic results are fine, then everything is fine.”

”But hasn’t the Spiritual Energy already been used, is there still a need for checks?”

Bai Quan shook his head.

He knew there was no need for checks.

But that previous feeling he had, that sense that the Chen Ming before him was not Chen Ming, led him to make this decision.

Although from the recent physical contact, Chen Ming was indeed Chen Ming, the results have confirmed this.

Yet, for some unknown reason, he still felt that Chen Ming’s behavior was problematic.

Bai Quan shook his head again, temporarily setting aside his entanglement with this issue.

Anyway, since Chen Ming was already here, if there are matters to deal with, they can be handled slowly later.

Early the next morning.

Bai Quan landed on Chen Ming’s dome in the shuttle boat.

He quickly found Chen Ming, who was in the laboratory, researching the Purgatory Core with equipment he personally manufactured yesterday.

As soon as he went up, he said to Chen Ming, ”There’s bad news; our volcanic planet has entered a period of cyclical geologic activity.”

”Volcanic eruptions and earthquakes will be more frequent, and the dome might be damaged. If there’s an emergency, you can hide in the laboratory’s underground.”

Chen Ming knew that the first underground layer of the laboratory was still part of the laboratory, whereas the second underground layer was purely a refuge center.

Almost all domes on similar extreme planets have such designs, protecting the safety of personnel inside, facilitating subsequent rescue in case of accidents.

Moreover, Chen Ming also knew that there were indeed some unusual circumstances outside the dome today.

He noticed a worsening environment compared to yesterday as he walked from the dormitory to the laboratory this morning.

Not only has visibility decreased, but magma activity has increased.

Chen Ming occasionally saw bright red lights shooting up outside, while the dome was intermittently struck by splattered magma. Fortunately, the dome appeared unharmed.

This is the manifestation of the geologic activity period.

So when Bai Quan described the specific situation, Chen Ming directly retorted, ”Then why did you come over?”

Bai Quan maintained a calm expression and said, ”It’s nothing, just slightly more frequent geologic activity, you’ll get used to it,”

”Generally, the dome’s safety can be guaranteed, don’t worry too much. I just wanted to remind you, so in case of an emergency, you won’t be clueless about what to do.”

Chen Ming nodded, putting down the Purgatory Core which was glowing red, ”So, teaching as usual today?”

”Right, let’s do it here. I brought all the necessary materials.”

Bai Quan shook the terminal Chen Ming initially gave him.

Chen Ming didn’t say much, leading Bai Quan to one of the few rooms in the laboratory equipped with basic facilities.

Before formally starting the class, Chen Ming said to Bai Quan, ”I need to tell you something now; didn’t you send an equipment list to me yesterday?”

”That’s right, those are the devices to be brought over to you. Do you want to add new equipment?”

Chen Ming denied, saying, ”No new equipment for now, I just need the items on the list to be delivered faster, with a few devices prioritized for quick delivery.”

”Which ones?”

Chen Ming resent the list Bai Quan sent him, highlighted some of the items.

Besides equipment, he also required additional materials.

Bai Quan softly recited the names of the devices Chen Ming highlighted, ”High-precision thermometer, pressure stabilizer, thermal conduit, large thermostatic relay, and insulation materials.”

These items are evidently related to Purgatory Core research, they mustn’t be delayed.

”Alright, I’ll arrange it for you now.”

Bai Quan took out another terminal and, while contacting someone, asked Chen Ming, ”Any other urgent matters?”

”Not urgent for now, just prioritize these.”

”Okay.”

Bai Quan quickly put down the terminal and said, ”Arrangements have been made, let’s start formally.”

Chen Ming nodded, seated himself while looking at Bai Quan.

The morning session ended normally, and as it concluded, another shuttle boat landed on Chen Ming’s dome.

The new arrival was an instructor Bai Quan arranged for Chen Ming.

Responsible for Chen Ming’s afternoon classes.

The instructor had an exceedingly average face and ordinary name.

During class, he was quite diligent, though his competence seemed slightly inferior to Bai Quan.

However, expecting another instructor like Bai Quan was somewhat unrealistic for Chen Ming.

Overall, no significant issue.

This afternoon instructor was there to supplement some theoretical knowledge.

He also needed to strengthen knowledge on large-scale battlefield concepts lately.

Of course, this was basic knowledge, excluding actual combat command-related content.

So Chen Ming didn’t mind the slightly lesser teaching level.

Real command learning would still have to be done under Bai Quan.

Time quickly passed into the night.

Chen Ming did not review and consolidate the day’s content as he usually did.

Even though Bai Quan’s teaching content has gradually become abstract, and the afternoon’s large-scale warfare and frontline basics were quite complex.
