Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 680: Chapter 206 Prosthesis_3

So, the boss didn’t notice anything unusual just now.

Even if someone conducts genetic testing on his prosthetic body, the final result will definitely still match Chen Ming’s own genes.

When manufacturing the prosthetic, the Insect Queen specifically adjusted it, ensuring there would be no part of the Insect Race within it.

Thus, if those closely related to Chen Ming can’t see any problem, then to anyone else, the prosthetic is essentially Chen Ming himself.

However, once Chen Ming stops controlling the prosthetic body with his consciousness.

Then it will be like right now.

The prosthetic that was standing in front of Chen Ming suddenly collapses to the ground.

Without Chen Ming’s consciousness, it becomes a lump of dead flesh.

Of course, Chen Ming doesn’t completely withdraw his consciousness; he still leaves a part of subtle consciousness in the prosthetic.

To prevent the consciousness-less prosthetic from being invaded by things from another dimension that cause dimensional infection.

Chen Ming once again immerses his consciousness into the prosthetic, controlling it to get back up.

He and the prosthetic simultaneously extended their hands, making different gestures.

Multitasking is very simple for Chen Ming now.

And...

On the wrist of the prosthetic before Chen Ming is a bracelet made from tissue of the Insect Queen.

After the prosthetic raised its hand, a liquid mixed with metallic sheen and bright green flows from its wrist, gradually enveloping it and forming a set of biological armor.

And after putting on this armor, the combat ability of the prosthetic should be the same as Chen Ming’s own.

After all, the physical quality of the prosthetic is still based on his situation, and the armor is precisely that armor.

It does not have those distortedly powerful combat tissues and organs of the Insect Race.

But this ordinary prosthetic can undertake tasks that he absolutely wouldn’t dare risk himself for.

For example, going to the Fourteenth Legion where he definitely wouldn’t dare to go.

After agreeing to Bai Quan’s invitation to join the war yesterday, Chen Ming has been thinking about how to maximize his benefits during the war.

That must involve deeply participating in this war.

Because winning this war is inevitable.

In a war that is sure to be won, he has no reason to refuse to participate.

However, simply doing what he had previously agreed with Bai Quan, helping with the research on the Mechanical Race, is not deeply involved enough.

Although certain benefits can be gained, it definitely wouldn’t compare to engaging in something deeper.

The answer to deeply participating in this war initiated by the Empire with the Fourteenth Legion’s initial preparations is also very obvious.

Go to the Fourteenth Legion.

Under the identity of a temporary tactical advisor signed in the contract he just settled.

Chen Ming doesn’t need to actually join the Fourteenth Legion, because he has that contract he signed on his hand.

The Fourteenth Legion is after all the Empire’s early main force in the war against the Mechanical Race.

For sure, they would have first-hand intelligence about the war.

And Chen Ming, as currently the most knowledgeable person about the Mechanical Race, can definitely obtain it.

But if Chen Ming isn’t within the Fourteenth Legion, the speed at which Bai Quan’s side provides information would surely be delayed.

Only by personally going there, at the Fourteenth Legion’s base, can he get the intelligence he needs immediately.

Then find opportunities to remotely command his Dusks to extract the profits within.

But doing so presents obvious problems as well.

Chen Ming isn’t about to risk being detained and run to the Fourteenth Legion.

Because he has already used his deep Spiritual Energy for maintenance several times, optimizing some technology.

Not only Shao Yang’s collaboration, but the Superspace Channel transition technology itself is a result developed through reverse engineering with deep maintenance.

Even if Chen Ming disguised the research process in the paper.

As long as traces remained, he couldn’t ensure his abilities would absolutely remain undisclosed.

The exposure of his Spiritual Energy is only a matter of time unless he completely stops using it.

But not using Spiritual Energy is impossible.

So, once the optimized technology’s Spiritual Energy leaks out.

His own safety is the least concerning aspect; countless people wouldn’t hope for his death.

However, the word freedom would become something he bids farewell to.

Thus, not just the Fourteenth Legion, he certainly wouldn’t dare go to places belonging to the government forces.

Although his relationship with Bai Quan is currently quite good.

But Bai Quan is a soldier; Chen Ming really can’t guarantee what Bai Quan might do.

Therefore, the importance of the prosthetic becomes elevated here.

It allows Chen Ming to perform many tasks burden-free.

Before actually producing the prosthetic, Chen Ming didn’t actually realize that the prosthetic would have such a strong... saying strong seems not quite right, it should be such a unique effect.

Initially, he just thought the prosthetic was an excellent life-saving technology, feasible, and decided to try it.

Ultimately, he achieved an unexpected surprise.

Chen Ming tossed aside the prosthetic that had once again collapsed and asked the Insect Queen to help take care of it.

Tomorrow, the prosthetic would have a place where it could be useful.

The next day at dawn.

Chen Ming had the prosthetic take the terminal to get in touch, and when Bai Quan appeared on the screen before beginning the lesson, the prosthetic suddenly asked Bai Quan: ”Does your Fourteenth Legion have any place open to the public?”

Bai Quan was stunned by Chen Ming’s question initially, then thought and said: ”There should be none, especially at this time the Legion is closed off internally. Why ask suddenly?”

”Nothing, just suddenly curious about what your Fourteenth Legion’s territory looks like.”

Bai Quan casually said: ”Why don’t you come over and take a look?”
