Chapter 687: Chapter 208 Arrangement_2

Bai Quan answered directly, ”Almost.”

The Fourteenth Legion indeed still has a lot of things that haven’t shown practical effects yet, most of which were seized from the Mechanical Race.

Although they haven’t achieved results, if handed to Chen Ming, it might be different.

As long as Chen Ming can almost study the basic effects of this Purgatory Core, Bai Quan can hand over more things to Chen Ming for research.

Even things for which principles have been clarified, like the Low-Temperature Computing Engine, can be handed over to Chen Ming to be studied again.

After all, Chen Ming’s psychic abilities are, in some cases, at least in fields related to the Mechanical Race, more precise than results achieved through various equipment.

Chen Ming didn’t say much, because Bai Quan had a very normal reason for doing so, and it was beneficial for him as well.

However, he still had some questions to ask: ”What about the value of this Purgatory Demon King from the Mechanical Race?”

”It’s okay, the wide-ranging entropy control ability is there, it can be considered a top-tier ground combat unit, and will work well in ground combat when paired with heat-resistant robots.”

”But for us, it doesn’t mean much, because the main enemies the Empire is facing now, one being Dusk and the other the Mechanical Race, are not afraid of high temperatures.”

”So my evaluation is that it’s okay, and only the core is quite important.”

The core is quite important, huh...

Chen Ming asked Bai Quan again, ”If I do indeed figure out the use of the core, what thoughts do you have about using it? According to what you said, it surely can’t be used on the battlefield.”

”Right, so for now, our main objective is to understand the operational principles of the Purgatory Core.”

”However, I’ve heard of a potential use, which is to combine the Purgatory Core with a Low-Temperature Computing Engine to achieve the effect of installing a Low-Temperature Computing Engine on non-volcanic planets.”

Chen Ming thought about this idea and asked, ”Is the power output from the Purgatory Core sufficient?”

”From what we can see currently, it’s likely insufficient, but we can also opt to use multiple Purgatory Cores together with one Low-Temperature Computing Engine, as the quantity of these two we possess is on entirely different levels.”

Bai Quan’s answer smoothly resolved Chen Ming’s confusion.

And after Chen Ming thought for a moment, he suddenly brought up another idea he’d had for a long time.

”Then can we take a main ship to bomb a resource-less barren planet, and by destroying its tectonic plates and attacking the planet’s core, manually create a volcanic planet in star systems without volcanic planets?”

Bai Quan suddenly gave a thumbs up to Chen Ming and said, ”Good idea.”

”This idea has been brought up to research departments by the Imperial Army over the years.”

”But you can imagine the result, the difficulty of realization is too high, and it’s too dangerous, so it has never been practically conducted.”

Chen Ming merely mentioned it casually, and if it wasn’t feasible, he didn’t dwell on it, saying, ”There’s no problem on my side.”

”Alright then, the equipment from the Mechanical Race will be delivered to you gradually in the coming days.”

”I’ll give you a list later, and if you need anything else, you can say so directly, as long as it can be installed at the research institute.”

Bai Quan said, suddenly thinking of something, and added, ”By the way, yesterday at the headquarters meeting, you mentioned you wanted to help actually verify the situation of the Mechanical Race being controlled by you, shall I let those people come over?”

”Uh... sure.”

Chen Ming previously said it was an excuse he made up randomly.

But now the situation was different, as the success of the prosthetic technology research was too coincidental, so those people could indeed be called over to actually observe the effect of his psychic abilities on the Mechanical Race.

It would also serve to prove the authenticity of the points he raised at the meeting.

Chen Ming’s answer brought an unexpected delight to Bai Quan, because he hadn’t actually expected Chen Ming to agree to such things.

Since the situation was different from what he thought, he swiftly moved past the matter Chen Ming had already agreed to and continued, ”Do you need any assistants?”

”Assistants? That could work too.”

Although Chen Ming could control all the equipment, dividing his attention to control so many devices was rather tiring.

If some tasks could be handled by assistants, it would save him a lot of work.

”Well then, a portion of the people coming from headquarters can stay as your assistants.”

Bai Quan said as a matter of course, but Chen Ming immediately sensed something amiss in his words and quickly asked, ”Wait a moment, I have no objection to assistants, but are they willing?”

Chen Ming originally thought Bai Quan intended to choose some fresh graduates from the Fourteenth Legion, so why was he suddenly selecting those researchers who might know more about these areas than he did?

Bai Quan explained, ”Yesterday at the meeting, the research content you described concerning the Mechanical Race was very clear.”

”So yesterday, someone overnight completely blocked the spiritual energy fluctuations around a captured Mechanical Race using a special Psychic’s abilities.”

”Though it seemed to have no effect and no other spiritual energy fluctuations appeared at all.”

”The blocked Mechanical Race indeed showed a significant reduction in intelligence... actually, it should be computational ability.”

”This just happens to validate what you said.”

”Moreover, some of the other points you brought up regarding the Mechanical Race have been undergoing verification since yesterday, and some results have already emerged, and it’s safe to say everything was correct.”
