Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 685: Chapter 207 Arrival_4

After the shuttle boat took off again, the Stardust Level continued to follow the signal from the cruiser and the giant shipyard ahead, entering the interior of the shipyard and stopping at an individual berth.

The shuttle boat traveled further to the volcanic planet beneath the giant shipyard’s orbit.

After passing an ecological dome three times larger in area than the city controlled by Chen Ming’s Mechanical Race, observed by Chen Ming.

It landed within a small independent dome nearby.

While still en route, Bai Quan had already explained to Chen Ming.

This is a dome specifically designed for constructing laboratories.

Featuring a plaza with extensive green plant coverage and three triangular buildings surrounding the plaza.

An office building, a laboratory building, and a dormitory building.

Small-scale experiments can be conducted in the laboratory building.

Meanwhile, large-scale experiments are conducted in the isolated large laboratory at the center of the three buildings.

However, when Bai Quan personally led Chen Ming into the large laboratory hall.

Somehow, Chen Ming suddenly had a déjà vu feeling reminiscent of when Dusk sent him to that institute.

But compared to the past, the treatment he receives now is worlds apart.

Moreover, the laboratory in front of him is different from the institute Dusk had arranged before.

The difference is that the laboratory in front of him is empty.

Apart from some basic power systems and basic living facilities in the living area where Bai Quan initially took Chen Ming, it can be said that there’s not a single operational piece of equipment.

Bai Quan explained: ”Originally, I thought you wouldn’t come to us, so there was no arrangement in this regard, and we could only temporarily find you such a dome to stay in.”

”The equipment that was intended for you will need to be transported here again, which might take two to three days.”

”That was indeed my whim.”

At this point, Chen Ming voluntarily apologized. Since the purpose was already achieved, apologizing wouldn’t hurt.

Bai Quan waved his hand and said, ”It’s okay, you have the capital to be capricious.”

”By the way, I recall you seemed to have raised a hamster, did you forget to bring it down from the spaceship?”

Chen Ming’s real body turned to look at the little stone scurrying around the Supreme Point daily, somewhat speechless.

But his avatar maintained a normal expression and said, ”No, I temporarily put it in foster care.”

Bai Quan nodded and didn’t inquire further, instead, he took out the contract he had previously shown to Chen Ming and said, ”You’ve read the content above, right?”

”Originally, I was supposed to give you lectures covering the key points and cautions in the ongoing war against the Mechanical Race every day after class, gradually assigning you some tasks once you become familiar.”

”What about now?”

”It remains the same, and since you are here, we can conduct face-to-face lessons, which will undoubtedly be more effective than remote teaching; shall we stick to your original schedule?”

Chen Ming had already thought about this issue before and said, ”No need, since I’m here, my focus for the upcoming period will undoubtedly be on command, directly following the Fourteenth Legion’s timetable. I will find time for other matters myself; as for physical training, continue as before, it’s unnecessary.”

After all, it is merely an avatar that Chen Ming sent to the Fourteenth Legion, training the avatar is as pointless as removing one’s pants to fart.

Bai Quan nodded, indicating that he understood, and then he said, ”That might be a worry about you being unable to find time.”

”Besides daily teaching and war knowledge supplementation, there are also some tasks from the original plan that require your completion.”

Before signing the contract, Chen Ming had thoroughly reviewed it and understood what he needed to do.

Although Chen Ming can enjoy Colonel-level officer benefits, he only needs to fulfill the duties of an ordinary citizen.

However, by signing the contract, he assumes a specific obligation to assist the Fourteenth Legion in Mechanical Race research tasks.

Since Chen Ming is receiving benefits from the Fourteenth Legion, it is only right to undertake some tasks.

Even without this restriction, Chen Ming would not refuse some reasonable requests from the Fourteenth Legion.

So he straightforwardly said: ”What tasks, tell me.”

”We need you to analyze some equipment from the Mechanical Race.”

”Chips? Forget about chips, I’m clueless about those.”

”Not chips, it’s some other things we don’t understand.”

”Apart from chips, what is there that isn’t understood?”

”This.”

Bai Quan said, presenting a mechanical device adorned with red patterns.
