Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 398: Chapter 143: Secret Operation_4

After waiting for the Giant, which had also teleported over, to assist Radiant in beginning the cargo unloading work.

Brilliant activated its teleportation engine, which had been cooled down for a while, and jumped back to the original star system.

The assembly of the second fleet began.

Due to the large amount of cargo carried by Radiant, it took a longer time to unload, and only after a while did it send the maintenance request signal to Chen Ming.

After performing maintenance and cooling the teleportation engine, it returned to the star system where the Energy Crystal Crab was, to continue the transportation of the second batch of fleet supplies.

Although its efficiency was somewhat lower than Brilliant’s, at least the entire process went without any incidents.

Everything was moving in a positive direction.

For now, it seemed Chen Ming need not worry about these two sides, as the coordination managed by Brilliant was sufficient.

He only needed to provide Spiritual Energy to maintain the teleportation engines of the two cruisers, allowing them to keep functioning.

Thus, Chen Ming turned his attention to the star system located at the border.

In this star system, Dusk operated on a single planet, maintaining its defense forces and handling the operation of the planet’s military industry.

Here, Chen Ming needed to make some simple adjustments.

Of course, this place couldn’t be handled like the stellar systems where Brilliant and Radiant were currently located.

Because this was a strategic location where Dusk was engaged in combat with the Mechanical Race, constantly communicating with the core region of the Dusk Star Realm and Dusk’s upper echelons.

Many military facilities maintained remote surveillance to guard against situations where communication from the star system could not be established proactively; internally, they could provide support at any time.

As soon as any signal was cut off, or any equipment malfunctioned, Dusk, or even its upper echelons, would immediately notice the issue and come to inquire.

So Chen Ming might either have to forgo the military equipment here or wait until the last moment, just before being detected, to take action.

At least that way, he could still take away some items.

Chen Ming naturally chose the latter.

However, he could still do something for the time being.

For example, assembling a fleet specifically designed for combat.

Being located in the Edge Star System, the most vital military industrial facility as the colony’s core and pillar at the frontline, a temporary halt would be noticed.

But from another perspective, the sudden formation of a fleet by such a unique colony would be entirely reasonable.

Dusk’s upper echelons couldn’t possibly come to the frontline personally.

Whatever issues arose on the frontline, any happenings there were matters handled by the Alpha-level Dusk lead command.

A combat fleet of this nature not only provided protection for Chen Ming’s colonial efforts prior to battling within the colony’s construction phase.

But even recently, in case anything unexpected interrupted Chen Ming’s plan, it could also deter Dusk at strategic moments.

In an instant, several hours had passed.

The two cruisers had already made several trips in and out of the star realms.

Despite the speed of teleportation, organizing the fleet took time.

Even so, Chen Ming’s Spiritual Power had already been depleted by one-third.

Of course, he was actually unaware of how vast his Spiritual Power had become, to the extent of supporting so many repair instances on the cruisers.

Bear in mind that multiple teleportations in a short time required not only maintenance to accelerate the cooling of the teleportation engines but also upkeep against wear on the engines and warships during the teleportation process.

It was as though Chen Ming had, through his own Spiritual Power, accomplished all maintenance tasks that should have followed the conclusion of teleportation.

But comparing his current Spiritual Power depletion to the remaining number of ships in the two star systems.

To fulfill his plan, more Spiritual Power was needed.

Moreover, throughout nearly a day of Chen Ming’s activities in these two star realms, some Dusk individuals had already perceived anomalies.

They were investigating.

Perhaps some friends of Dusk individuals privately controlled by Chen Ming, or perhaps influence had been perceived by Dusk due to production interruptions.

Brilliant’s computational power was still limited to Star System Level.

Achieving simultaneous handling of all colonial supplies transport in the two star systems while barely managing outbound logistics within the predicted timeframe was already at its limit.

Having only encountered issues a day into executing the plan was an unexpected relief.

Moreover, Chen Ming had anticipated such scenarios and had instructed Brilliant and Radiant to prepare countermeasures for this situation.

Using specially prepared ships to forcibly control these Dusk individuals, who were led to believe they were investigating mere accidents rather than a human strategy directed by Chen Ming.

Providing plausible reasons for their return, buying time.

As of now, conditions in both star systems had not been leaked.

But it would not be long; by tomorrow morning at the latest, Dusk would surely take note of the situations in these two star systems.

Thus, it was time.

Chen Ming contacted Bai Quan through the terminal, saying: ”The time has come, you may begin.”

”Understood.”

Bai Quan’s words fell.

At that moment, a previously quiet United Fleet of the Fourteenth Legion, positioned outside the Edge Star System of Dusk, finally stirred.

Led by two Offensive Level heavy battleships, with the number of cruisers exceeding fifty and destroyers over four hundred, signs of teleportation engine activation were seen flashing and blurring.

This fleet, except for the main ships and a portion of the cruisers, was otherwise equivalent to the force utilized in the last raid on Dusk, which involved several allied factions.

Now, it was merely the Fourteenth Legion, maneuvered solely by Bai Quan.

Bai Quan was at the command post within one of the Offensive Level ships.

At the moment the teleportation engine efficiency reached its peak.

He issued a command to the entire fleet.

”Prepare for combat!”
