Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 368: Chapter 136 Evacuation_2

”Got it.”

Brilliant’s words aligned perfectly with Chen Ming’s thoughts.

Chen Ming immediately broke into a run towards the research facility’s exit.

And since he was leaving, Chen Ming figured he might as well do some things on his way out.

He didn’t actually do much, just touched every piece of equipment he could reach along the way, marking them all.

This included the research facility’s security systems, various robots, and monitoring systems that he usually had trouble accessing.

No one was sure whether these devices were meant to protect Chen Ming or the research facility itself, but they were scattered throughout the place and easily encountered on the way out.

In this way, he could use his ability to take these devices away whenever he wished.

If he could find a suitable colony, he could immediately establish a new research facility.

Since the monitoring equipment was now under Chen Ming’s control and the facility was isolated from external signals, not a shred of evidence would be left behind.

Moreover, Chen Ming was just marking them for now; it didn’t mean he was taking them away immediately, so it wouldn’t affect anything.

He even considered directly teleporting away the most valuable Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor underground.

This could be achieved by utilizing the sole method in his Transformation ability that didn’t require mastering the related technology completely.

When using Chen Ming’s Transformation ability, he simply needed to replace components if those components were available at hand.

The ability just needed Chen Ming to know which part to swap out, without understanding the more complex technologies inside.

Applying this concept to equipment, the situation was the same.

Chen Ming could directly treat the tangible Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor as part of a ship’s equipment and retrofit it onto any spacecraft with available space.

Furthermore, his Spiritual Energy was ineffective on anything living, so it would only transport the effective parts during material teleportation.

Hence, he didn’t worry about his Spiritual Energy spreading those ”things” underground.

However, after some thought, Chen Ming refrained from doing so.

Because he couldn’t ascertain whether the underground monitoring equipment was still operational.

Until the final day of Chen Ming’s plan arrived, it was better to keep essential abilities, like this one that didn’t require ship control, under wraps for now.

For now, the equipment was better left alone.

Life is precious, but the equipment Dusk found from another civilization’s ruins was certainly not just one piece.

Chen Ming quickly cleared his mind of these thoughts and left the research facility without hesitation.

Considering the time spent tagging equipment and running, the entire process took less than two minutes.

Needless to say, these security and monitoring systems at the research facility were essentially integrated; if Chen Ming marked one part, it was as though the entire system was marked, highly convenient.

However, in these brief two minutes, the sense of danger and anxiety within Chen Ming intensified.

He dared not linger any longer and hastened his pace, creating a Protective Suit on himself while running towards the dome’s main gate of the facility.

Simultaneously, he equipped the Water Buffalo Level with a military Weapon chosen randomly from his reserves.

As the ship’s electrical grid almost overloaded, it barely blasted open the dome gate, which was without Dusk’s control and protection.

In the fierce airflow, the Water Buffalo Level scooped Chen Ming up onto the ship.

The spacecraft soared instantly, completely distancing Chen Ming from the research facility.

As the ground’s tremors faded, the heartbeat echoes in his ears ceased, and the suffocating feeling in Chen Ming’s chest significantly subsided.

Now, all that remained was the complex sensation brought about by the periodically appearing Spiritual Energy Fluctuation.

However, just Spiritual Energy Fluctuation alone was hardly an issue for Chen Ming, who had long been in contact with the extreme Spiritual Energy Pulse of the Delusion Stone.

Just when Chen Ming was pondering Water Buffalo Level’s next destination.

He suddenly noticed in the distance a Dusk’s engineering ship approaching.

However, the engineering ship showed no intention of attacking Chen Ming, seemingly just aiming to land at the research facility.

Chen Ming attempted to send a communication request over, but the communication interference caused by the Spiritual Energy Fluctuation around the facility still persisted, and the affected range was extensive.

There was simply no way to establish contact.

Moreover, the spacecraft’s flight path was notably fixed and rigid, likely relying solely on its internal automatic piloting systems, rendering any communication pointless.

It’s unclear what use this allegedly missing ship could be to Dusk once it landed.

And just as the engineering ship came within a certain distance of the research facility.

Suddenly, an electromagnetic pulse swept around the facility, accompanied by an intense surge in Spiritual Energy Fluctuation.

Both Chen Ming’s operating Water Buffalo Level and the engineering ship he just saw were affected by the electromagnetic pulse.

Fortunately, Chen Ming’s reaction was swift, instantly repairing the Water Buffalo Level’s damage; the ship stabilized in the air after a couple of sways.

However, the engineering ship clearly did not enjoy such luxury.

Under the electromagnetic pulse’s influence, electrical sparks erupted throughout the ship, and the engine sputtered out, causing it to crash next to the research facility.
