Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 371: Chapter 137: Changes

Since Chen Ming asked this question directly in the communication channel.

Brilliant responded directly in the communication channel: ”We are still discussing the plans afterward. It will take some time, please be patient.”

However, privately Brilliant communicated a more detailed reason through Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy: ”Because the Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor underground at the research institute is something the higher-ups absolutely do not want to lose right now.”

”Therefore, our higher-ups are considering whether to destroy the whole Cloning Research Institute including the equipment together, or to find a way to salvage the equipment for further handling.”

”Our current discussions are leaning towards the latter.”

Dusk’s approach made Chen Ming, a human, unable to resist saying: ”Even at a time like this, you know the reasons why the Empire banned cloning experiments in the past, but instead of finding a way to quickly handle it, you’re still tangled up in this?”

Moreover, when Chen Ming uttered this sentence, he had a feeling in his heart.

It’s like the thinking and situations of Dusk’s higher-ups might have occurred before.

Perhaps in the past, when cloning experiments on the Human Empire side also had issues.

Due to the existence of such things, all the experimental personnel died, but because the instruments and equipment were too valuable.

So the responsible parties kept debating whether or not to destroy these ”Spiritual Creatures” along with the equipment.

Ultimately leading to an uncontrolled situation.

Although this is just Chen Ming’s speculation, as of now.

If cloning ultimately causes problems only to the extent of this huge heart before him, then as long as it can be handled promptly, it should not have led the entire Empire to prohibit cloning experiments.

So, either the past situation was as he thought, uncontrollable.

Or cloning experiments have even more terrifying consequences.

But what the specific situation is, we need someone familiar with history and in a certain position to verify.

However, there’s no movement from the boss for now, probably asleep, seems like we need to wait some more time.

Chen Ming doesn’t mind for now, whatever Dusk’s attitude may be, it has nothing to do with him, anyway if there were problems, the heavy loss wouldn’t be on him, but on Dusk itself.

Brilliant actually thinks similarly to Chen Ming, it also knows such matters need prompt handling, but the higher-ups being tangled clearly has their reasons.

So Brilliant directly explained to Chen Ming: ”It might be because all that holds value in our hands now is solely the Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor.”

”We don’t currently have a second extractor, and even if we did, it couldn’t be sent to this Star Realm again.”

”If the only extractor were damaged in the process of handling this incident, it would mean losing the chance to obtain your Enlightenment Nerve.”

”We’ve prepared for a long time, even had two massive battles involving main ships with the Human fleet for you.”

”Although we won both battles, the losses during the battles were very real, with such prior losses, we cannot casually abandon this equipment.”

It’s logical reasoning, Chen Ming understands, but he doesn’t fully comprehend.

”What I’m about to say, don’t share with other Dusk figures, just think of it as me casually voicing my frustration.”

”Understood.”

Chen Ming exhaled, saying to Brilliant: ”Although I currently have conflicts with your Dusk, I still have to say, priorities matter in decision making.”

”The reason for the comprehensive ban of cloning experiments by the Human Empire is already before you, aren’t you really afraid of problems occurring?”

”Can’t you find a way to delay until the second Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor arrives?”

Brilliant continued to explain to Chen Ming in a standard Dusk manner: ”Merely delaying is hardly acceptable for us.”

”If we lose the Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor, we’re left with only two options.”

”One is to violently kill you, completely severing any thoughts of the Enlightenment Nerve.”

”The other is to use equipment like the Hibernation Pod to imprison you, continuing to preserve or directly transport you to the main Star Realm, waiting until we find a second Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor.”

”The former method is heavily damaging to us, while the latter method carries too many potential accidents during execution.”

”You are currently in an open adversarial relationship with us.”

”And I’m merely the lubricant in the gears, making day-to-day interactions between you and us less awkward.”

”Moreover, we all know you would never give up survival and wait to die just because of my presence; you must have more ideas than just avoiding suicide.”

”We have to gain benefits from each other, yet cannot directly conflict due to timing.”

”Although our higher-ups are currently unclear about what you have prepared until the final moment arrives.”

”But they are aware that continuing to delay will inevitably lead to problems.”

Brilliant finally summarized: ”Precisely because of your existence, our higher-ups absolutely cannot abandon this Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor.”

Previously, when Chen Ming was considering the situation, he thought with normal human logic and indeed overlooked the fact that he himself is also a concern for Dusk.

If Dusk were to include his influence, then their actions barely make sense.

If cloning technology is prohibited because of its severe impact on the entire Empire, then.
