Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 373: Chapter 137 Change_3

But...

Chen Ming was an orphan, and this feeling made him extremely uncomfortable.

Moreover, the sense of danger that came along with the feeling of closeness constantly reminded him that the heart inside was not something easy to deal with.

Chen Ming wasn’t fooled at all; instead, he turned to Brilliant and asked, ”So, since the situation has changed, is there any change in your plans now?”

”No, we are still prioritizing handling the flesh on the surface first.”

”Alright.”

Chen Ming responded and was still prepared to leave just like that.

But just as he was about to do so, his mind suddenly became dazed.

Something was stirring.

Not Chen Ming himself, but the thing inside his mind.

Chen Ming panicked for a moment. Had something entered his mind without him noticing?

No, that’s not it.

Chen Ming suddenly remembered.

Previously, when his Iron Ore No. had helped block the three deadly cannons from the Ruler, leading to its own destruction, there had been a Spiritual Energy Fluctuation around the research institute.

Chen Ming immediately used his Spiritual Energy Fluctuation to sense himself.

Immediately, he discovered that besides his own consciousness, there was also a faint, blurry shadow in his mind.

The shadow seemed to have willingly stayed in his mind and was gradually being nourished by Chen Ming’s subconscious Spiritual Energy Fluctuation.

So much so that Chen Ming hadn’t noticed it until now, when it suddenly showed signs of activity.

It wanted to go out; it wanted to touch that mass of flesh.

Chen Ming sensed from this shadow a feeling as if he had encountered something truly worthy of entrusting his life to.

This was what his Spiritual Energy told him, not the externally imposed ”closeness.”

Chen Ming directly tried to use his Spiritual Energy Fluctuation to make contact with this shadow, attempting to touch its origin.

It wasn’t some dirty flesh tissue derived from Chen Ming’s genes.

It was a Spiritual Creature derived from Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy.

It was symbiotic with Chen Ming.

It was... the Ship Spirit.

Such a term suddenly appeared in Chen Ming’s mind.

He had never heard of this term, but he simply believed that the thing in his mind must be this Ship Spirit.

In matters of Spiritual Energy, Chen Ming always trusted his instincts rather than his mind.

So, that’s what he was doing now.

Chen Ming opened the hatch of the Water Buffalo Level and looked down at the huge heart below.

The temptation of ”closeness” became more obvious with Chen Ming’s actions, and the sense of danger also rose accordingly.

However, this level of danger was not even comparable to when the Enlightenment Nerve had drilled into his mind before.

That previous instance brought a sense of danger where Chen Ming was almost unprepared and nearly perished.

The current situation was completely different from before; Chen Ming was well-prepared.

In his mind, the Ship Spirit seemed to have a sense of excitement.

An entire set of complete Power Armor instantly materialized around Chen Ming, equipped with a jetpack and hydraulic cushioning system.

However, Chen Ming didn’t jump down directly; instead, he first modified the Water Buffalo with a grenade launcher.

He loaded the grenades that Chen Ming had just manufactured.

The internal charge was a special explosive he had learned from Zuo Jing, and some highly concentrated spacecraft fuel used only in bulk fuel transport by tanker ships.

Chen Ming didn’t know how effective it would be, but he should find out soon.

He aimed the grenade launcher at the huge, beating, deformed heart below and pulled the trigger.

Since his continued presence here would interfere with Dusk’s work, Chen Ming might as well help Dusk finish the task.

A head-sized grenade darted into the deformed heart instantly.

After a brief silence.

Brilliant flames burst out from the gaps between the myocardium.

The entire heart was shattered by the explosive impact, and broken pieces of flesh flew in all directions.

On the remaining flesh tissues, intense flames burned in the vacuum.

The spacecraft fuel had a considerable degree of flammability by itself, and the material composition of the fuel included oxidizers, making the highly concentrated and easy-to-store and transport fuel effects even more exaggerated.

In the blink of an eye, the area covered by the grenade explosion’s firepower was almost reduced to charred ashes.

There were only a few pieces of fragmented flesh barely appearing not entirely scorched.

To be safe, Chen Ming launched another grenade.

This time, the unimpeded surge of flames completely eradicated the remaining parts of the heart.

Moreover, the impact of the second explosion blew the ashes of the burnt flesh tissues completely scattered.

Exposing the passage below, still covered by flesh with vibrant vitality.

As the flames from the second grenade explosion dissipated, Chen Ming saw a black shadow entwined with Spiritual Energy Fluctuation dart into the passage.

That must be the source of the intense Spiritual Energy Fluctuation around here.

A large Flamethrower appeared out of thin air in Chen Ming’s hand, which he could handle now that he was wearing heavy Power Armor.

The fuel tank of this thing was also equipped with spacecraft fuel and was definitely the best helper to deal with the residual flesh tissue in the passage.

Chen Ming pulled the Flamethrower’s switch, ensuring it could easily spew out fire snakes dozens of meters long.

He adjusted his posture in the Power Armor.

Then, he took a step forward.

With the terrified squealing from the little stone clinging to his neck and the joyful emotions emanating from the Ship Spirit in his mind.
