Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 380: Chapter 139: Elimination_2

Chen Ming instantly created a White Cloud Steel wall in front of himself, cautiously retreating to a safe position where he could withdraw from the passage at any moment.

Soon after, a tremendously thick tentacle of blood and flesh shattered the research facility’s door, lashing out at the robot heading towards the mutated flesh, instantly smashing the robot into pieces.

However, the tentacle did not continue to attack Chen Ming, who was retreating further and further, but instead wrapped around the fragmented mutated flesh scattered on the ground.

The tentacle wanted to bring it back inside the facility, merging it with the research facility, which was enveloped by flesh.

Chen Ming could sense that the tentacle lacked self-consciousness, and there was no other conscious ”organism” within the research facility that produced the tentacles.

It seemed that the core of mutated flesh from the facility had gathered into a humanoid form, attempting to communicate with Chen Ming.

But each time it spoke, Chen Ming blocked it immediately.

And even at this moment, before it was taken into the research facility, the mutated flesh stubbornly struggled and said with its head to Chen Ming, ”Mom...”

After uttering the final word, the mutated flesh seemed finally satisfied.

The tensed cardiac muscles completely relaxed, allowing itself to be drawn into the root of the tentacle, which was the high wall formed of flesh inside the facility.

Meanwhile, Chen Ming had a question mark in his mind.

He completely didn’t understand, even if the gene origin of the mutated flesh was him, there’s no need to acknowledge kinship on the spot, right?

But he soon realized that the last three words the mutated flesh said were connected.

So Chen Ming asked Brilliant next door, ”Does G3 use obscenities?”

Although Brilliant couldn’t see the situation from Chen Ming’s side, it kept in touch with him.

So it replied quickly and decisively, ”Yes.”

”All language data of Dusk individuals are imported from human databases. We know all sentences used in normal language environments, including obscenities, though we generally don’t use them.”

Now, Chen Ming understood why the mutated flesh cursed.

Turns out it used G3’s core and learned bad behaviors from G3.

A serious mutated organism corrupted by an entity from another space went all out just to say an obscene word; it was utterly lacking in class.

But becoming mush and dragged back held no class either.

Although the tentacles had withdrawn back into the research facility, Chen Ming still maintained a safe distance.

After all, the sheer brute force of the tentacle was quite dangerous for his fragile body.

Anyway, his current angle allowed him to clearly observe what happened to the mutated flesh once it was dragged back, so there was no need to get too close.

Chen Ming could see that apart from the thick layer of flesh covering the wall next to him, many corpses of clone bodies with broken thoraxes were stuck to the flesh.

Several thick blood vessels on these clone bodies were connected to the wall that had just absorbed the bits of mutated flesh, seeming to supply nutrients to it.

As Chen Ming carefully checked the surrounding environment, the tentacle suddenly split in two, each cut-end surrounded by numerous granulations that transformed it into two thinner tentacles, curling up against the wall.

And on the edge of the curled tentacles, the wall of flesh suddenly began to bulge.

The previously crushed mutated flesh emerged here, gradually forming an abnormal heart that Chen Ming had seen several times before.

And the two split tentacles constituted the heart’s blood vessels.

This mutated heart of the facility began to beat suddenly.

The heavy heartbeat seemed to press upon Chen Ming’s heart with every throbbing, attempting to synchronize his heartbeat with the mutated heart.

This was definitely not a good thing.

Although the Ship Spirit was already helping with protection, the effect was less than ideal, and Chen Ming could still feel his heart under heavy pressure.

Moreover, the sense of kinship from the gene origin also gradually eroded Chen Ming’s rationality.

Making Chen Ming feel that as long as he approached and touched this flesh, he could control everything around him.

However, the sense of danger in Chen Ming’s mind was becoming increasingly apparent, allowing him to clearly realize it was an illusion.

If he dared to go over, the only outcome would be assimilation by the flesh.

As the mutated flesh was dragged back into the facility, merging with it, Chen Ming suddenly faced all sorts of troublesome issues giving him a headache.

Yet a slight smile appeared on his face under the helmet of his Power Armor.

Because he had already identified the core of the entire facility, the huge heart that was formed after the mutated flesh melded.

Destroy it, and he would achieve his purpose coming down here; the Ship Spirit’s needs could be fulfilled.

Although Chen Ming didn’t know what benefits fulfilling it would bring.

But instinct doesn’t deceive him, and the Ship Spirit cohabiting with him wouldn’t lie to him either.

Plus, Chen Ming knew virtually nothing about Spiritual Energy, so listening to instinct and the Ship Spirit had to be correct.

So now only the final step separated him from completing his goal.

Just then, Chen Ming suddenly noticed a large amount of flesh appearing behind him, spreading out from cracks in the soil, attempting to seal off his retreat route.

But the preparations Chen Ming had made beforehand were not for nothing.
