Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 369: After modification: Chapter 136 Evacuation_3

The quality of Dusk’s engineering ship is decent, and the altitude during its crash wasn’t too high.

With such a fall, only the armor on the bottom layer and sides suffered some damage.

Overall, it doesn’t seem to be a big problem.

Moreover, the direction this engineering ship came from just happens to be where Brilliant mentioned, the direction of the entrance and exit of the underground Cloning Research Institute.

So Chen Ming took the opportunity and landed next to the engineering ship.

Confirming there was no danger around, Chen Ming quickly disembarked from his spacecraft.

Before he could feel the chest tightness from the heartbeat and vibration, he quickly touched the engineering ship, then immediately returned to the Water Buffalo Level.

The Water Buffalo Level ascended again, and Chen Ming relaxed slightly, observing the situation of the engineering ship.

As he expected, there was no Dusk individual on the ship; it was purely operating according to the pre-set navigation plan.

Inside the ship’s computer, Chen Ming found the only document.

It seemed this document was meant for him.

After all, Dusk knew his abilities and was aware that he could definitely access the ship.

As long as he came into contact with the ship, he would surely be able to see the document.

As for the content of this document.

It was basically a bunch of useless information.

It didn’t clarify what’s happening underground in the research institute, not even as much as what Brilliant told him.

In short, the message from Dusk is that the research institute is currently very dangerous, but they are unable to investigate or rescue the area affected by strong Spiritual Energy Fluctuations.

They can only let Chen Ming find a way to escape on his own.

Chen Ming knows that high-intensity Spiritual Energy Fluctuations can affect Dusk, creating redundant data in their logic modules, eventually leading to Dusk’s demise.

So the fact that Dusk can’t rescue him and he must flee on his own wasn’t entirely unexpected for him.

It’s like prison guards asking prisoners to run to a safe place themselves, which made Chen Ming feel a bit strained.

In any case, retreating is essential; Chen Ming wouldn’t pointlessly engage in suicidal actions.

Staying at the research institute apparently would be a suicidal act.

But even so.

Chen Ming still somewhat wants to understand what exactly happened underground in the research institute.

Especially since the source of the incident is tied to him personally, making him even more eager to uncover the truth.

Additionally, there’s the deformed heart that fell off his clone body, along with the Spiritual Energy Fluctuation exuding feelings of both danger and familiarity.

These factors compel Chen Ming to investigate and resolve the matter.

Furthermore, if Chen Ming continues flying in the direction from which the crashed engineering ship came,

he will first see the entrance of the Cloning Research Institute, and only then reach areas not affected by underground interference.

So, no matter how you look at it, his subsequent actions can’t bypass the Cloning Research Institute; he is destined to witness the situation there.

Since that’s the case, Chen Ming might as well go along with it.

He just took the delivered spaceship directly.

After quickly repairing it using his abilities, the engineering ship took off again, following the Water Buffalo Level.

Before the second wave of electromagnetic pulse from underground in the research institute arrived, he flew out of the surrounding area of the institute, heading toward Chen Ming’s target.

However, unexpectedly, before Chen Ming even saw the entrance of the underground Cloning Research Institute, the communication interference had already disappeared.

The Spiritual Energy Fluctuations causing communication interference seemed to exist only underground in the research institute and didn’t affect the vicinity of the entrance.

Just as Chen Ming noticed the communication signal returning to normal, a communication from Brilliant came through.

With a business-like tone, it asked, ”Mr. Chen Ming, how are you now?”

Chen Ming contemplated for a moment, then responded with a sarcastic tone, ”If you think it’s good for me to be woken up by some unknown mess you’ve made before dawn, then it’s quite good.”

”...”

Brilliant understood that Chen Ming wasn’t targeting it specifically, so it remained very patient, trying to soothe Chen Ming.

Meanwhile, it continued to provide him with real-time updates on the information Dusk’s side was gathering.

However, in just a few minutes, what Brilliant knew didn’t differ much from before.

At most, it knew that the higher-ups were arranging follow-up plans to investigate and address the Cloning Research Institute.

Taking advantage of this time, Chen Ming quickly increased his speed.

On the surface, it was to distance himself from the research institute, but in reality, it was to find the entrance to the Cloning Research Institute, to avoid being stopped by Dusk once communication was restored.

But Chen Ming didn’t really need to search.

Because only a short while after he flew out, he already saw a conspicuously bright red biological mass suddenly appearing on the uneven gray ground.

Although this mass of flesh had no Spiritual Energy Fluctuations, its location and the way it abruptly appeared there signified its uniqueness.

Therefore, it’s highly likely that beneath this massive biological mass lies the passage to the research institute.

Upon seeing this mass of flesh.

Chen Ming casually took a few photos, while solidifying his thoughts in his mind.

As expected, the cloning experiment on him by Dusk had issues, most likely caused by the cluster of Spiritual Energy-mutated flesh seen in the footage from Brilliant a few days ago.
