Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 351: Chapter 132 The First Shot

Chen Ming quickly figured out the answer to this problem.

At present, there are only a few forces that might be investigating his existence.

There’s a slight possibility it could be the government, but it’s not very likely, as they are only responsible for logistical support in this operation.

So that leaves the Fourteenth Legion.

It’s unclear whether it’s Bai Quan, or those people from the battle zone behind that second generation.

Chen Ming never hesitates to think of the worst-case scenario.

So he would rather believe it’s the latter.

However, Chen Ming is already prepared to face different situations; even if such a scenario occurs, he won’t feel discouraged.

He will definitely achieve what he wants, unexpected changes are simply about the difficulty of achieving his goals, not whether he can achieve them.

Even if the people in the battle zone find out he’s still alive, and strengthen their guard.

As long as Chen Ming’s spiritual energy doesn’t emit fluctuations when he uses it.

Then Chen Ming is the most lethal, irreplaceable critical danger to them.

In such an era, who would want to be restricted and never touch a spaceship in their lifetime?

Moreover, Chen Ming can actually control not only ships but also various mechanical devices.

Even if he only controls a terminal, Chen Ming can directly cause the terminal’s battery to explode.

Living a lifetime without touching a ship is barely possible, but never touching mechanical devices would mean living as a savage.

So if the people find out Chen Ming is still alive, he will inevitably become their major concern.

It’s unclear what they will do after learning the specifics of this situation.

Will they send out a psychic with super-long-range attack capabilities? Or is there some more practical approach?

Chen Ming first dismissed the former idea, as such psychics shouldn’t exist.

Even if they do, their abilities would be far more dangerous to the Empire as a whole compared to Chen Ming’s, and psychics with such abilities would likely perish quickly.

But regarding what they will actually do, Chen Ming is genuinely uncertain.

He doesn’t fully understand what resources they have in the battle zone, only has a rough estimation.

At this thought, a peculiar idea popped into Chen Ming’s mind.

He began trying to use his spiritual energy to replicate the spiritual energy fluctuations that accompanied that sense of being watched.

If he could backtrack it, maybe he could find some clues.

But he tried for a while and seemed unable to find those spiritual energy fluctuations due to differences in individual spiritual energy.

If that feeling of being watched was still there, and that fluctuation remained, he might indeed be able to trace it back.

But now Chen Ming could only sigh in regret, with a slight hint of gloom settling in his heart.

If he were to be inconvenienced again by the battle zone people, it would cause significant negative impact on his future endeavors.

Because in self-defense he might be forced to expose some situations.

So now, without hesitation, Chen Ming called his boss again to ask for some advice.

As soon as the call connected, the boss spoke directly: ”Xiaoming, you came at the right moment. Bai Quan just called me asking if you’re still alive.”

”I said I didn’t know, but he didn’t seem convinced. Now that you’ve suddenly called, I suspect it’s related to Bai Quan?”

”I’m not sure, but it’s definitely possible.”

Chen Ming said, then explained the recent situation to his boss.

While Chen Ming was recounting the situation to his boss.

Bai Quan was experiencing a splitting headache.

After learning everything Tang Shi had done a few days ago, his mind nearly collapsed, feeling as if it were splitting open.

He couldn’t fathom how someone could be so incompetent.

Clearly, a surprise attack to rescue the person and divert Dusk’s attention was all that was needed.

Then, seizing the moment when Dusk had to deal with the Sinda Corporation fleet launching an attack on another star system, clear the defenses and send in ground troops to take the person shouldn’t be difficult, right?

Then just act like the mission’s completed, retreat before Dusk reacts, and teleport near Kleitka.

Using weapons provided by Speed Particle Technology, destroy the planet’s shield generator, wouldn’t this process be straightforward?

Even if some steps failed, the fleet’s strength is certainly enough to delay until the teleportation engine cools down and retreat with minimal losses.

But someone took advantage of my plan.

If it were only a matter of cherry-picking achievements, it might be fine.

The person cherry-picking, surprisingly, ignored the best developed fruit on the tree, only to ruin it though they had time to let it ripen.

Then greedily tried to pick the largest fruit at the top of the tree.

Not only ended up with none of the fruit, but also fell down and got beaten.

A thoroughly crafted plan was messed up to this extent.

And the key point is, it was completely ruined by an utterly incompetent second-generation.

Bai Quan had never paid attention to Tang Shi before, only knew him superficially as a useless second-generation with some ties to the battle zone.

He couldn’t be bothered to glance at him even when placed right in front.
