Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 359: Chapter 134 Heart

G3 quickly mobilized some internal robots tasked with executing auxiliary tasks and all internal surveillance equipment within the research institute.

It began a thorough inspection and scan of the entire Cloning Research Institute.

Previously, G3 had set a tolerance for the Spiritual Energy Fluctuation Detector inside the institute because there were items with naturally occurring Spiritual Energy fluctuations placed there before.

This often led the detector to pick up faint residual Spiritual Energy fluctuations.

So, it generally set a standard deviation for the detector, treating anything below that as erroneous to eliminate interference.

This also led to it not detecting that faint periodic Spiritual Energy fluctuation.

However, now that G3 checked personally, there was no such problem.

He swiftly eliminated the interference tolerance he set and found the source of the Spiritual Energy fluctuation.

It was in the cold storage Brilliant had just examined, among the corpses of the defective clone bodies.

Clearly, G3 had injected them with reagents that were supposed to be more than enough to kill when he discarded these defective products.

Yet now, one of the clone bodies was showing signs of life.

And that Spiritual Energy fluctuation emanated from the clone body still exhibiting life activity.

Strangely, though, after a precise scan, G3 discovered it wasn’t the clone body itself showing signs of life.

The real life signs were coming from something inside the clone body.

G3 immediately retrieved the archived record data it maintained on each clone body through the tags on their bodies.

And there, it found the data for this particular clone body.

From both the photos in the archived record and the actual corpse tossed here, the clone body appeared to have no outer imperfections.

But in reality, this clone body had an abnormal heart, showing signs of irregular myocardial development in the middle stage of cultivation.

So, G3 had abandoned this clone body previously.

G3 had not anticipated this situation after clearly abandoning the clone body.

It immediately dispatched robots to transport the frozen solid corpse back to the room adjacent to the clone body cultivation tanks.

Here, there was a dissection table filled with various tools and some mechanical arms extending from the nearby walls with different functions.

Guided by the Spiritual Ability Detection Device, G3 conducted a dissection following the location of the Spiritual Energy fluctuation.

The final result of its thorough examination revealed that.

The clone body’s bodily functions had long ceased entirely—rigor mortis was setting in on the corpse.

The clone body was indeed thoroughly dead, without any struggle whatsoever.

However.

The deformed heart inside the corpse still maintained traces of life, faintly beating even now.

With every beat, the heart emitted weak Spiritual Energy fluctuations to its surroundings.

This periodic heartbeat was the source of the periodic Spiritual Energy fluctuation noticed by Brilliant and detected by the Spiritual Energy Fluctuation Detector.

However, calling this thing emitting Spiritual Energy fluctuations a heart didn’t quite fit.

Because when G3 dissected it and placed it on the tray beside it, one could see it bore no resemblance to a heart.

It was just a cluster of deformed flesh still active and emitting Spiritual Energy fluctuations.

The corpse, after being repeatedly examined by G3 to confirm no life activity or Spiritual Energy fluctuations were emanating, was placed alone in an ice coffin and pushed into a corner of the room by a robot.

Meanwhile, this cluster of deformed flesh was taken to another room on the other side of the dissection room.

There was far more, and more complex, specialized equipment here compared to the dissection room.

Several robots were also delivering some new equipment here.

Besides conducting the most basic check on this cluster of flesh, G3 also needed to use more specialized Spiritual Energy detection instruments to perform some research on it.

Soon, G3’s database listed two detailed reports.

One report was a normal scan of this mass of flesh, showing it consisted of normal myocardial tissue connected in an abnormal way.

A gene check confirmed the myocardial tissue was indeed of Chen Ming’s genes, with no signs of abnormal mutations.

Yet the very existence of this still-living flesh cluster was the most significant anomaly.

And G3’s other report contained data obtained from Spiritual Energy-related checks.

However, it only focused on a few critical lines of data in this report.

Spiritual Energy fluctuation type, Spiritual Energy fluctuation complexity, and Spiritual Energy activity level.

The type of Spiritual Energy fluctuation can be analyzed roughly as a way to determine whether the detected Spiritual Energy is of the attack type, protective type, or auxiliary type based on the Spiritual Energy fluctuation itself and the location of the Spiritual Energy fluctuation’s action.

Although Chen Ming had an auxiliary type of Spiritual Energy, just now, the actual results measured by G3 confirmed.

The Spiritual Energy fluctuations emitted by the mass of flesh with Chen Ming’s genes were of the protective type.

It first protected itself under the effect of the lethal reagent and then managed to survive even in the extreme cold environment, clearly aligning with the situation G3 had discovered.

This was also considered normal; after marking this, G3 continued to examine the next line of critical data, the Spiritual Energy fluctuation complexity.

The complexity of Spiritual Energy fluctuations is revealed through a set of data seen in the details of the amplitude of the Spiritual Energy fluctuation.
