Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 370: Chapter 136 Evacuation_4

Now that the Cloning Research Institute is completely out of contact, and previously Brilliant mentioned that G3 was also down there, it’s very likely that something has already happened.

The loss of an Alpha Level Dusk in such a non-massive battle is a very rare occurrence.

Although there is still a possibility that G3 is alive.

However, Chen Ming looked at the mass of flesh writhing from the underground passage not far away, which was still growing relentlessly, pushing away the surrounding gray soil with immense vitality.

Chen Ming felt there was little hope.

The surface was already in this state, underground it should be even worse.

Moreover, it was this scene that made Chen Ming understand why cloning experiments are completely banned within the Empire.

Now, the loss of an Alpha Level Dusk on Dusk’s side is highly probable.

But if this happened on the Human side, the loss might be that of an advanced research team.

Possibly more than one.

Some research institutes may not be standalone structures but share a building with other institutes, making the extent of damage greater.

However, until now what exactly has happened below is still a mystery.

At this moment.

A Dusk engineering ship appeared again in Chen Ming’s field of vision.

Although it was an engineering ship, it was visibly armed with a weapon at the front, directly aiming at the underground Cloning Research Institute.

After locking on the target completely, the engineering ship opened fire.

Chen Ming could see with the naked eye a line connecting the barrel of the engineering ship to what it launched.

With a Water Buffalo Level sensor, Chen Ming fully understood what the engineering ship had fired.

It was a steel spike as thick as an arm.

It drove straight into the depths of the earth.

Penetrating countless layers of soil and rock, piercing into the research institute.

Brilliant suitably explained to Chen Ming, ”It fires a data beacon anchor.”

”Upon hit, it can read the internal data of all devices within the coverage of its signal range.”

”Its wired connection at the tail end helps it resist psychic interference from the institute.”

”Usually, it’s more valuable for rescue operations in underground industrial facilities.”

”It was developed recently as a test product, and the design idea was proposed by me.”

”Currently, every planet with underground workplaces in the Star Realm has this item prepared.”

Chen Ming casually said, ”I guess it was the incident at the mining site that gave you the idea.”

”Yes.”

It’s fortunate Brilliant didn’t bring out this thing earlier, otherwise if Dusk had used such an object in his collapsed mining site back then,

Chen Ming’s capabilities would have been exposed ahead of time, ruining the entire plan.

However, this thing also has drawbacks, because it is forcibly injected deep underground.

This means it might cause damage to where it impacts.

If it were just for rescue, something that could cause secondary damage generally wouldn’t be used.

There must be a more optimized product to bring out.

The reason they’re using a test phase product now is probably due to the highly abnormal current situation, where Dusk urgently needs this thing to gather information for them.

But Chen Ming felt this thing had potential as a weapon; it might be worth discussing with Brilliant later.

Of course, now is not the time.

After the engineering ship launched the beacon into the institute, it began reading data from various devices underground.

And sent this data directly to the current secondary responsible entity of the institute, which was Brilliant.

But this process quickly ended because the beacon was suddenly destroyed by something inside the institute.

Fortunately, the results of the investigation were already obtained.

Brilliant displayed all the data files to Chen Ming.

From G3 cultivating a second deformed heart, to the bursting of hearts from other clones, to the hearts in those corpses also showing signs of life.

And finally, the flesh masses appearing in the room where G3 was installed, tying the entire event together.

The situation is already very clear.

The experiment went wrong, and all the reserve clones on Dusk’s side became nurseries for psychic creatures formed by human deformed hearts.

Now Chen Ming even more understands why the Empire strictly bans cloning experiments.

If such a situation really arises, it’s definitely not just a research building issue.

But a matter of an entire research park, an entire city, or even the whole planet.

If the response actions are slow from those handling this matter, the planet could be completely overrun as a result.

Moreover, these things are psychic creatures, although from G3 previously killing several easily with flames shows that they are individually fragile.

But when their numbers rise or face a lack of targeted measures, they can be extremely terrifying.

And the number of Psychics has always been relatively low, so it’s impossible for them to attend to every place.

Facing these cloned psychic creatures without timely countermeasures would be the norm.

Perhaps similar incidents have happened within the Empire before.

And the eventual losses must have been unacceptable.

As for what exactly happened during the time when cloning experiments were conducted in the Human Empire, and whether the events are similar to what Dusk is encountering now, these two questions remain unanswered for now.

However, Chen Ming has sent the photos just taken using a transformation storage module method to the boss, if the boss knows about this matter, there should soon be a resolution.

As for now, Chen Ming asked Brilliant, ”So what do you plan to do?”
