Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 298: Chapter 119: Research Plan, Amplification of Spiritual Energy

At this moment, Chen Ming completely didn’t understand why the Brilliant, who he had been communicating with, was suddenly replaced by another Dusk.

Seeing that Brilliant had no intention of explaining, Chen Ming asked it, ”What’s the reason for replacing you?”

”No reason.”

Brilliant’s answer was straightforward, yet Chen Ming didn’t believe it anyway.

The Dusk must have had some purpose to replace Brilliant.

It couldn’t be because they plan to do something afterward and worried that Brilliant, having been with him for a while, would be unsuitable, right?

Chen Ming couldn’t figure it out at this time, so he switched to another question and asked, ”Which Dusk will take over your work?”

”We will make arrangements when the time comes.”

This was also a nonsensical answer.

So, Chen Ming continued to ask, ”What if I need a familiar Dusk?”

”I can ask for you.”

After a moment of silence, Brilliant replied to Chen Ming, ”Your request has been denied, please cooperate with our arrangements.”

Chen Ming nodded, unsurprised by the result.

”Let me ask you something, you Dusks should all have different personalities, right?”

”Yes.”

”So what might be the personality of the Dusk taking over your tasks?”

Chen Ming tried a more tactful approach, attempting to coax some answers from the oddly behaving Brilliant.

However, Brilliant once again emphasized, ”I really don’t know which Dusk will take over the work afterwards, nor do I know the personality of the Dusk taking over.”

”Each Dusk’s task is only handled by the individual Dusk responsible for it, and any issues are borne by the responsible Dusk themselves.”

”Unless a requirement exceeding authority arises, like the green plants you needed before, but you can apply upwards.”

”So whether their arrangements will differ from mine in all aspects remains to be seen.”

This time, in Brilliant’s defense, the term used was not ”we,” but ”I.”

So, Chen Ming decided to treat it as Brilliant’s own statement.

It seemed inevitable that Brilliant was going to leave.

”What a pity.”

Brilliant didn’t reply.

And suddenly, out of curiosity, Chen Ming continued to ask Brilliant, ”When my things here are done, what are you going to do?”

This time, Brilliant didn’t remain silent, answering, ”I will return to the Star System where you were before, continuing to be responsible for the security work of the Star System. The vast mineral resources on the planets within the Star System, as well as the mining facilities developing these resources, are very important.”

”Alright, so when are you leaving? When will the new Dusk hand over with me?”

”Now. The Dusk for the handover will arrive in about an hour.”

”I guess I can’t stop it, right?”

”Yes.”

”So that’s it?”

”That’s it.”

Communication ended.

Chen Ming walked out of the research institute and looked up at the sky without an atmosphere.

With the naked eye, he could see the Dusk Fleet on the orbital path around the star, led by Brilliant, leaving the planet’s gravity and flying out of the Star System.

Brilliant’s sudden departure was completely unexpected for him.

After all, rationally speaking, the fewer Dusk individuals in the entire Dusk group that came into contact with Chen Ming, the better.

There was no need to change, as doing so would only increase the probability of unexpected incidents.

Could there be a special reason?

Chen Ming was increasingly suspicious that the Dusk planned to take action against him.

Changing to a new one would be more convenient for when they act.

But this was just Chen Ming’s guess. To know for sure, he had to wait for the new Dusk to arrive.

Additionally, the last few words Brilliant said before leaving also caught his attention.

Because Brilliant inexplicably mentioned the mining facilities on the planets, as if hinting at something.

Chen Ming was considering whether he could allow the few restricted Dusks under his control to attempt contact with Brilliant.

But this would expose many things, particularly Chen Ming’s ability to control the Dusk.

The Dusks had no substantial evidence to prove that Chen Ming could control them yet.

If all of Brilliant’s hints and the last words were all baiting.

Then Chen Ming would be actively exposing his ability, inviting thorough suppression from the Dusk.

The Dusks working in the mining facilities must not be easily exposed.

If they were exposed, it would be minor; however, if it affected other Dusk controlled by Chen Ming.

Then perhaps the entire Star System would face an internal purge by the Dusk.

Let’s see.

Maybe there will be other opportunities.

Chen Ming put back on his Protective Suit, took some research institute robots, and returned to the spacecraft for a trip.

There were some empty rooms for storing items in the living area of the research institute where Chen Ming could bring out some daily necessities or other items.

He could also check on what exactly were the glowing white tea leaves in the tea he just drank.

Chen Ming boarded the spacecraft and arranged tasks for the robots.

First, he casually used the advanced plant analyzer he once used on Rimu Star to scan the tea leaves.

The analyzer’s display showed the words ”Analyzing.”

A few minutes later, the unsurprising result was that no related plant data was found.

It makes sense. How could a Spiritual Plant be analyzed with a common analyzer found everywhere?

Chen Ming placed the analyzer aside, then opened the panel.

The name of the silver-white tea leaves was clearly written on the panel.

[Immortal Spirit Tree Tender Leaf]

Aside from that, there was no valuable information.

Chen Ming had never heard of the existence of an Immortal Spirit Tree, but he was certain it must be a Spiritual Plant.
