Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 283: Chapter 115 The Urgency of Dusk_2

Based on the probability of habitable planets existing around star systems, he surveyed almost all of the star systems.

After a simple scan, the confirmed number of valuable star systems was very few.

There were only six in total.

Two of the star systems contained planets with life.

One of them was a habitable planet, while the other had toxic components in its atmosphere, making it uninhabitable. However, the presence of life alone made it valuable enough.

In the other four star systems, three had surface open-pit mineral veins discovered by Refraction, and they were all high-value veins like tungsten, titanium, nickel, cobalt.

The last one was very special.

It was also a habitable planet, with no toxic components in the atmosphere.

But on it existed some structures similar to the Mechanical Race’s Mind Pulse Generator that Chen Ming had seen before, structures of a Mechanical Race style.

And they were not ruins but were found intact by Refraction, likely dormant equipment.

Chen Ming did not know if there were Mechanical Race beings within these structures, but he did not allow Refraction to get too close, just recorded them for future investigation.

Of course, these valuable star systems were the results of Refraction’s simple scan. There must be more than what Chen Ming found in these star systems, surely more things.

And Chen Ming did not scan those gas giants or ice giants because they were too dangerous.

Therefore, once Chen Ming has a survey ship with detailed scanning capabilities, he plans to return to search for more valuable planets.

Right now, it clearly won’t work, nor does the result of scanning planets have much to do with Old Wu.

The focus now is that Refraction has returned after completing the scan.

Previously, through the factory director, Chen Ming had obtained a ship identification code for Refraction, allowing it to operate regularly within the Empire. However, Refraction’s armament made it difficult to enter the Prosperous Star Realm.

But the number of pirates there clearly couldn’t compare to that of the Edge Star Realm, and Chen Ming didn’t have any intentions to go there.

In total, Chen Ming now had five ships, enough to be called a small fleet.

With a fleet assembled, naturally, he had to look for trouble with the pirates.

Upon knowing Chen Ming’s purpose, Old Wu immediately responded, ”Pirates, huh? You mentioned this to me before. I helped look into it for you.”

”But pirates are living people, and if too much time passes, who knows where they’ve gone. If you need, I can immediately find all the bounty-listed ones nearby for you.”

”Alright, I’m just letting you know, probably in the next few days.”

It’s just as well since Refraction needs time to return, and Chen Ming wasn’t in a rush.

He trusted that Old Wu would take care of finding the pirates for him.

Then there’s another matter.

”The experiment of abilities... let’s go outside, this experiment can’t avoid others.”

Old Wu stood up, stretched his limbs, and walked away from the Sentinel.

Meanwhile, Chen Ming switched his view to the Torrential Rain parked nearby, using its camera to view the Sentinel.

Chen Ming’s gaze swept around first, noticing an extra layer of partitions had been added to separate his ships parked at the corner of the maintenance factory from other areas that could be rented out.

He didn’t know if it was the factory director’s or someone else’s idea in the company.

Chen Ming took another look and then withdrew his gaze.

At the same time, he opened the panels for the Sentinel and Dawn, which he had placed at the Dark Graveyard a long time ago.

A few days ago, Chen Ming had already finished reading the technical books provided by Dusk, which used Dawn as a teaching blueprint. Consequently, besides learning those skills, he also mastered Dawn’s blueprints.

Given enough equipment and materials, Chen Ming could construct a new Dawn on the spot.

Therefore, Chen Ming planned to give it a try.

Not through equipment, but through his panel abilities.

Although Chen Ming had been working intensely and consuming his Spiritual Power each day, while simultaneously using the Delusion Stone to train his Spiritual Power, his Spiritual Power had increased again, allowing the panel’s controllable ship number to rise to 4.

Yet, the manufacturing function had still not appeared on the panel.

Hence, Chen Ming decided to take another approach.

Risking the loss of a Dawn, he used the transformation function to transform the Sentinel into a Dawn.

This loss was something Chen Ming could fully bear.

And this idea was feasible.

As Chen Ming delved deeper into various technologies, the modification options on the transformation panel gradually increased with things that were not there before.

Now, Chen Ming could modify an entire spaceship.

From the ship’s compartments, hull sections, to the details of many corners of the ship, even the angle of a segment of a radiant energy pipeline, Chen Ming could modify them.

When Chen Ming modified every part of a ship into the shape of a Dusk Ship,

this ship, essentially became a Dusk Ship.

Once Old Wu had moved a bit away from the Sentinel, Chen Ming began.

He first directly dismantled the Dawn that had been scarcely used since acquisition, turning it into orderly material.

Then, under his active control, the material appeared in the storage compartment of the Mule parked at the maintenance factory.

The materials didn’t stay long; they quickly liquefied and gathered together, seeping from the ship and flowing past Old Wu’s feet towards the Sentinel.

Old Wu squatted down, reaching out to take some, but these metallic liquids slid from his hands like weightless water.
