Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 281: Chapter 114: [Unstable Hyperspace Navigation Teleportation Engine] and Dusk’s Probe?_4

After all, not every star system has planets, and not every planet needs to be closely observed in the past.

So in such cases, investigation is not troublesome.

After arranging Refraction’s short-term activities.

Chen Ming went back to learning.

Surprisingly, he continued to stay stably in the factory for a week.

Dusk didn’t send him away immediately for causing trouble again.

Even the arrangement that Chen Ming had anticipated, that Dusk had almost prepared for him in another place, seemed questionable.

These days, Chen Ming had no new ideas; besides learning, he just followed Dusk’s requirements in various tasks.

And with the change of date, Dusk gave Chen Ming more complex tasks every day.

Some tasks even required Brilliant to teach him hands-on, making Chen Ming suspect that Dusk was testing his learning ability.

Let them test if they want; anyway, Chen Ming no longer cared and focused on learning as much technology as possible.

After all, this might be his last chance to acquire technology from Dusk.

Moreover, Brilliant’s teaching was surely more efficient than Chen Ming reading books by himself every day.

Brilliant is an Alpha level Dusk, and its abilities are more than enough to teach Chen Ming.

However, as the amount of work increased daily, Chen Ming’s spiritual power consumption increased sharply.

The remaining energy for learning was diminishing.

And Dusk seemed deliberately controlling the workload, not to the extent of completely overwhelming Chen Ming, but keeping his spiritual power at a moderate level after work.

He could feel tired but still able to manage other tasks.

Brilliant did its best to meet Chen Ming’s needs for a restful environment these days, providing any sleep aids he wanted, and even offering additional supplies.

Time passed until the seventh day after sending Refraction away, which is today.

As today’s routine work began, Brilliant delivered the work content as usual.

Even before entering the warehouse, Chen Ming knew what it was.

A Speed Particle Spear.

The name on the panel was ”Box Type Dusk Speed Particle Spear 01 Test Model”.

He had seen the 01 Test Model many times over the past few days, and had also handled a Dusk Speed Particle Spear a few days ago.

But the one delivered today was remarkably different from the previous one.

Not only because today’s Speed Particle Spear had an external accessory, but also the panel of this Speed Particle Spear showed a 0/2 for the ammunition reserve.

This seemed to correspond to the ”Box Type” in the name.

Chen Ming said nothing and repaired it as required.

Then, he saw inside the external accessory two capsule-like objects entirely encased in metal appeared.

These should be the reserve bullets for the Speed Particle Spear.

Dusk modified the Speed Particle Spear, which originally relied on energy accumulation to achieve the final attack effect, into a mode that could attack through these ”bullets” internally equipped with a large amount of self-storing energy materials.

The time for energy accumulation was solved by consuming the reserve bullets, greatly improving firing speed.

Thus, the only issue left to address was the weapon cooling time.

However, Chen Ming felt this modification method was not very effective.

Because this modification could be achieved even without him.

Now that Dusk sent this Speed Particle Spear over, it was only to test if he could quickly replenish these Spear bullets.

And Dusk obviously knew that his spiritual energy could quickly cool the weapon.

So to be effective enough, only Chen Ming personally could do it.

Was Dusk still relying on his spiritual energy?

Chen Ming didn’t think so.

His previous actions should have been enough for Dusk to label him with a dangerous stamp, and they wouldn’t trust him with such a Speed Particle Spear.

However, Chen Ming still lacked intelligence on Dusk to speculate on a possible outcome.

Additionally, the more he looked at this Speed Particle Spear, the stranger it seemed, and Chen Ming finally couldn’t hold back asking Brilliant, ”Why do you design weapons this way?”

Chen Ming didn’t expect Brilliant to answer, but Brilliant actually did.

”Because your spiritual energy is still effective for such weapons.”

This answer puzzled Chen Ming even more, and he asked, ”Would you let me control the spaceship and the weapons?”

The factory’s lighting system flashed abnormally for a moment.

Brilliant seemed not to notice and said, ”Dusk never trusts humans, but individual Dusks also never completely trust Dusk.”

”?”

As Chen Ming pondered the meaning of this sentence, Brilliant suddenly said, ”There’s another notice.”

”We are soon arranging for you to travel to another star system, and you have a day and a half total to prepare starting today and tomorrow.”

”Departing Earth time 8 AM the day after tomorrow.”

This notice interrupted Chen Ming’s train of thought.

Although sudden, it was somewhat expected.

Brilliant did not elaborate on the subsequent situation, although Chen Ming felt that the treatment wouldn’t be too good.

Moreover, if he leaves just like this, escaping Dusk’s territory would surely become more difficult in the future.

But now, Chen Ming had no choice.

The consequence of non-cooperation was easily imaginable with a bit of thought.

Therefore, Chen Ming chose to cooperate in a dignified manner.

Actually, he had a feeling that his previous actions expedited this process.

But still, Chen Ming would accept the consequences of his actions.

”So where exactly am I going?”

Chen Ming casually asked another question, not expecting Brilliant to answer either.

But Brilliant suddenly sent him a very familiar star map of the Dusk Star Realm.

Only two spots were marked on it.

One was the current star system Chen Ming was in, and the other was very close to the star system where he suspected a replica of the Kleitka Supercomputer to be.

Which was one of the colonies surrounding the star system of Kleitka.

”Here.”

Brilliant left these two words and prepared to leave.

However, Chen Ming suddenly reacted and interrupted before Brilliant left: ”Brilliant, you are Dusk, what do you all believe in?”

”We believe in Dusk itself.”

Brilliant finished speaking and left entirely, leaving Chen Ming alone in the factory.

Chen Ming had always noticed that when saying official matters, that is, matters arranged by Dusk, Brilliant usually referred to itself as ”we.”

Only occasionally would it refer to itself as ”I.”

Brilliant had just mentioned that individual Dusks don’t all believe in Dusk.

And the ”we” used when responding to Chen Ming’s question was quite interesting.

Yet Chen Ming still couldn’t determine if this was a test from Dusk.

He needed more information.

And that needed time.

So, for now, Chen Ming could only follow Dusk’s requirements and start packing.

However, Chen Ming didn’t rush to start, as there was still the rest of today and all of tomorrow.

So he decided to do something else, to avoid being caught up after moving to another place without any spare time.

Chen Ming’s attention turned to the Sentinels at the Pirate Space Station, planning to contact Old Wu.
