Chapter 266: Chapter 111 Freedom Alliance

When Chen Ming decided to change targets.

Beads of sweat formed densely on the foreheads of both Captain Zuo Jing and the Pirate Captain.

However, their years of experience helped them quickly calm down.

Moreover, Captain Zuo Jing swiftly devised a way to counter the terrifying self-destructive power of the Torrent Level that even their Shield struggled to mitigate.

”It only has eight fighters in total. As long as we spread our formation and concentrate fire to destroy all the fighters, it will be rendered useless.”

”What about that Warrior?”

Captain Zuo Jing glanced at the Warrior on the sensors, which was flying at a relatively safe distance around the fleet, clearly looking for an opportunity, and couldn’t help but frown.

He knew that the modified Warrior would be difficult to deal with, but he had no strategy against it at the moment.

They were already struggling to withstand the Torrent, not to mention the seemingly more maneuverable Warrior.

However, up until now, the Warrior had not taken any action.

Hence, Captain Zuo Jing could say, ”Ignore it for now, the Torrent is the real problem.”

During a brief exchange between the two sides.

The Torrent maintained a safe distance and released its remaining six fighters.

Six Terminator Fighters, glowing with dazzling red light, charged in once more.

Chen Ming had just roughly estimated the cost of the ships for both fleets, finding that they were similar in price.

As long as they didn’t target the Mule, engaging the others made no significant difference in terms of losses.

So Chen Ming ultimately decided to focus on Zuo Jing’s side first based on his own preferences.

Apart from the previous conflict with Zuo Jing, Chen Ming was also unsure if Zuo Jing had equipped their regular ships with any self-destructive devices.

If they took out the pirates and tried to capture Zuo Jing only to have them blow up, Chen Ming would end up with nothing.

Thus, the six Terminator Fighters later flew towards Zuo Jing’s fleet.

Maneuvering smoothly through the dense barrage of point-defense weapons, only one was destroyed by stray fire, while the remaining five reached a dangerous range.

And without reservation, they targeted five Frigates, forcing a one-to-one exchange.

These roughly and casually modified Frigates had no ability to counterattack against the Terminators.

Five fireballs appeared almost simultaneously in space.

In the pirate and Zuo Jing communication channels, there were only sounds of chaos from the remaining crew on the ships, as half of Zuo Jing’s fleet was suddenly lost.

Captain Zuo Jing was somewhat stunned by the Torrent Level’s self-destructive tactic.

He had seen combat footage of Torrent Level ships before.

But he had never seen Terminator drones used in this way.

Under normal circumstances, Torrent Level ships primarily rely on fighters for point-defense support.

In emergencies, they send out fighters to forcibly contain the enemy until they have no other choice but to engage in self-destructive attacks.

This approach helps deplete the enemy ship’s weapons, ammunition, and energy reserves, while also increasing the chances of a successful self-detonation.

He had never seen them use fighters for a direct self-destructive one-to-one exchange from the start.

And the outcome was even quite favorable; with eight fighters exploiting the not-yet-diverged Drum Level formation, they took out ten warships.

However, Captain Zuo Jing soon realized his opportunity had come.

Because the Torrent Level’s combat capability wasn’t remarkable, it relied mainly on its eight fighters and the self-destructive threat at crucial moments to create situations where they outnumbered the enemy locally.

Moreover, the ship itself had lost some armor due to flight deck issues.

With all eight fighters gone, its combat power would significantly decline.

So, although their fleet had suffered heavy losses.

The Torrent was clearly in the same situation.

Captain Zuo Jing suppressed the other noises in the communication channel and said, ”The Torrent’s fighters are all gone! It has no combat power left! All ships, full assault! Don’t let it escape!”

Captain Zuo Jing gave the order.

Meanwhile, on the pirate side.

Because Chen Ming hadn’t specifically targeted them, their status wasn’t too bad.

But the Pirate Captain was also under immense pressure.

After the initial attack from the two fighters, their fleet was left with only one Mule and seven Frigates.

If the remaining six fighters had crashed into them, they would have been nearly wiped out.

He himself would have accompanied the Mule to the underworld.

Fortunately, things didn’t unfold that way.

And since he had always eyed the Torrent, he was aware of the Torrent’s condition.

So, after sweating profusely, he couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

The Torrent, with its fighters expended, was no longer a threat. As long as they watched that strange Warrior, the remaining tasks could be handled.

The Pirate Captain also issued an order to besiege the Torrent.

The two remaining fleets moved in to encircle.

Feeling the unfavorable situation, Gamma Z used the Torrent’s voice broadcasting system, asking Chen Ming in a rather ”human-like” voice, ”The enemy already knows the Torrent’s fighters are gone, what should we do next?”

”Hmm, I’m thinking now.”

”Huh?”

Gamma Z emitted a very human-like sound of confusion.

It seemed that after being in human society for a long time, it had picked up some habits of human language.

However, what Chen Ming was pondering wasn’t about dealing without fighters, but rather what weapons to use on the new fighters.
