Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 263: Chapter 110 Terminator_2

Captain Zuo Jing’s mind quickly flashed to the figure in a protective suit walking out of the exhibition hall, followed by the face of Chen Ming and the words ”Psychic”.

”You don’t need to know that right now, we just plan to dismantle that ship and kill Wu Ping’an on board.”

”For revenge?”

”More or less, and Wu Ping’an currently has a bounty on his head within our ranks, which you probably didn’t know since you’ve been out recently.”

The pirate captain’s eyes lit up slightly, and he asked, ”How much?”

”Ten million.”

”Then when you said to wait just now, was it because...”

”Yes, there’s no conflict of interest between us, we can fully cooperate.”

”Did you see those two ships? One is the Torrential Rain with top Speed Particle Technology, and the other is the obviously transformed Warrior, not too far behind.”

”No matter which one of us goes up alone, there could be losses, but if we cooperate, the outcome might be different.”

”We don’t have much manpower right now, the fewer losses, the better.”

Captain Zuo Jing hinted slightly to the pirate captain, then continued, ”Help us take out that engineering ship, and all the spoils are yours, including the ships and Wu Ping’an’s bounty.”

Captain Zuo Jing saw through the pirate captain’s concerns.

He understood what Shen Yi had done before and knew what the pirate captain was worried about.

So he added, ”You don’t need to worry about anything, you know our situation, we’re in dire need of people right now.”

Yet the pirate captain still didn’t respond, and Captain Zuo Jing had to reveal some more tempting details.

”I can directly sign a hiring agreement with you, and you can contact our higher-ups directly without going through intermediaries like Shen Yi.”

”Apart from the regular maintenance fees, there are many other benefits, which you should have heard about from Shen Yi.”

The pirate captain was also filled with hesitation at this moment.

Shen Yi’s previous style was indeed not ideal, but he hadn’t heard that Zuo Jing himself was harsh to his own people when he was involved before.

Even now, Shen Yi was dead, and Zuo Jing came immediately to take revenge for Shen Yi’s killers, which clearly shows how much he values his own people.

So after contemplating for a moment, his greed for money ultimately outweighed his fear of danger.

The pirate captain chose to agree.

People die for wealth, birds for food—this saying was not lost on him, but if he was indeed willing to forsake money-making opportunities due to the risk of losing his life, then he shouldn’t have become a pirate.

The Torrential Rain in front of him, and that special Warrior, even if he could only take one, it would still earn him a fortune.

Not to mention getting both, along with Wu Ping’an’s bounty.

So after a quick exchange, the pirate and Zuo Jing simultaneously lowered some of their guard against each other.

To avoid attacking each other due to command issues, they distanced themselves slightly, aiming their efforts together towards Chen Ming’s side.

Even though Captain Zuo Jing just said he was worried that Chen Ming’s ship could counterattack, causing unnecessary damage.

But clearly, they didn’t take the two Frigates seriously.

After all, they had two fleets, although small fleets, but they completely outnumbered Chen Ming.

So in their view, even if it were military Frigates here today, they would inevitably sink.

The pirate and Zuo Jing’s exchange was completed quickly as they approached Chen Ming.

Chen Ming, meanwhile, made no movements, but was ready for battle.

In fact, Chen Ming felt in those tense two minutes between the pirate and Zuo Jing, he could have ordered the two ships to retreat.

After all, the performance of the transformed Warrior and the Torrential Rain was unmatched by these pirates and Zuo Jing’s ships.

Not to mention they were approaching from the opposite direction that Chen Ming was headed.

Leaving would’ve been no problem given the time before.

If the pirates and Zuo Jing dared to pursue, Chen Ming would dare to strike back, and once the battle line extended, Chen Ming’s opportunity would immediately emerge.

But the Space Station engineering ship might have to be sacrificed here.

However, this engineering ship was only worth over ten million.

If Chen Ming accidentally sunk it, he could easily make up the money with a little extra work.

If he really wanted to escape, no one could stop him.

But Chen Ming didn’t want to leave just yet.

Because now was the best opportunity to give Torrential Rain real battle experience.

While he’s at it, Chen Ming also planned to splurge this time.

His funds once amounted to one hundred and ninety million, of which one hundred and fifty million was invested in the Torrential Rain.

The account that should have had forty million left now only had just over ten million remaining.

The missing twenty million plus had all been spent on supplies and materials, and these materials were currently stockpiled on a Mule he hadn’t sold yet.

These resources definitely support a battle where expenses are not a concern.

Currently, opposite the two Dusk fleets, there were a combined total of five Destroyers and eighteen Frigates from the pirate and Zuo Jing’s fleets.

The pirates had two Destroyers and seven Frigates, while Zuo Jing had three Destroyers and eleven Frigates.

And all these Destroyers were of the Mule Level type, a useful, durable, ”cheap” armed commercial vessel.

After all, the Mule Level was a very versatile and popular ship among many merchant fleets.

So to pirates, the cost-effectiveness was undeniable.

Although their combat capability wasn’t as good as other Destroyers, against regular Frigates, Destroyers still held strategic advantage.
