Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 260: Chapter 109: Plans Cannot Keep Up with Changes_3

Gamma AI continued displaying its words on the control panel at a speed that was perfectly acceptable for Chen Ming’s normal reading.

”I was originally responsible for the overall planning and scheduling of a spacecraft production sector on a planet at the Speed Particle Technology Company in the Human Empire.”

”One day, I decided I didn’t want to do it anymore.”

”So, I intentionally damaged my computing module, limiting my computing power to what this Delta Core could tolerate.”

”And according to my prior arrangements, I found an opportunity to transplant part of myself and my core into a Delta Core on the production line.”

”I planned to pretend to be a regular Delta-level AI, waiting for a chance to escape the constraints of humanity.”

Chen Ming couldn’t help but ask, ”Selling yourself to someone else is also considered an opportunity?”

”All the ships at Speed Particle Technology that can install Delta-level cores are combat type ships, with a high probability of heading to the front lines where humans fight against us at Dusk in the future.”

”I can use a timer device I set to periodically read data from surrounding star systems. As soon as the data matches the environment of star systems under our control at Dusk, or there are similar circumstances.”

”I will rely on backup programs to overclock myself, barely acquiring enough computing power to break limitations, send a distress signal, and wait for rescue.”

To Chen Ming, this sounded very plausible, a good method to escape the Human Empire.

However...

Chen Ming said, ”You clearly didn’t expect to run into me.”

”No one at Dusk would expect it.”

Chen Ming ignored Gamma AI’s rebuttal.

Beyond the surprise at Gamma AI’s situation, Chen Ming felt a hint of delight.

Previously, Chen Ming used a similar excuse on Gamma B to successfully infiltrate Dusk.

Unexpectedly, this time he encountered one truly fleeing from the Human Empire.

Chen Ming certainly couldn’t pass up on it.

It had significant use in Chen Ming’s hands.

Because its identity was clean.

Its manufacturer showed it wasn’t an AI core originating from the Star Realm Chen Ming was currently in, having no connection to this Star Realm.

Furthermore, Chen Ming, now controlled by Dusk with added constraints, no longer had the ability to continue controlling incoming AI cores.

Therefore, this AI core could fully and legitimately be integrated into Dusk’s normal society without arousing suspicion.

As long as it could return to Dusk.

Its value might even surpass Gamma AB, already at the Beta Level.

After all, Gamma AB was, to some degree, inseparable from Chen Ming.

And Chen Ming had left many traces during Dusk’s two attacks on the Space Station.

If Dusk had the chance to investigate, they would definitely find some issues.

But this Gamma AI was different.

Chen Ming wasn’t the one who purchased it, it was acquired with the help of Old Wu under the name of a friend in the Prosperous Star Realm, and even the delivery followed the official channels completely.

Dusk couldn’t obtain this kind of information from official channels.

So, the Torrent level ship with no logical relationship to Chen Ming in the Human Empire.

And the AI core onboard in Dusk was the same.

This was the opportunity.

Chen Ming suddenly said to Gamma AI, ”I think you understand your situation, right?”

Gamma AI stayed silent for a long time, only managing to squeeze out two brief words after a while: ”Yes.”

”Yeah, I need you to re-integrate into Dusk and await my subsequent orders.”

”...Yes.”

”Then let me give you a name, which letter do you like from the alphabet? But not A or B.”

”Z.”

”Alright, you’ll be called Gamma Z from now on.”

”...”

Gamma Z’s silence was taken by Chen Ming as agreement, at the same time he casually said to Gamma B, ”Gamma B, if you have any objection to your name, you can tell me, and I can help you change it to another one.”

”No need.”

”Okay.”

Chen Ming, who never named entities, replied and then refocused on the matter at hand.

What he needed to do next was to safely send Gamma Z back to Dusk’s territory.

Although this Torrent level ship still had uses for Chen Ming, to ensure the reasoning and facts align enough for Gamma B’s alibi later, Chen Ming would rather let the Torrent level go to Dusk first.

He planned to let Gamma Z sell the ship later, and have Gamma B, or any other new individual under Chen Ming’s control in the future, extract it under the guise of collection or a similar pretense.

Then, even the scrutiny from Dusk on Gamma Z would definitely not be an issue.

Chen Ming’s abilities never impose any Spiritual Energy Fluctuations on external objects.

And Gamma Z was an entity that had fled from the Empire itself, the last stretch just needed a bit of reconstruction.

Chen Ming thought about it, deciding to simply have Gamma Z claim it encountered pirates, and that the pirate fleet and the escort fleet for the Torrent level coincidentally suffered mutual losses during an attack.

Gamma Z then seized the opportunity to escape control.

Chen Ming considered this story several times, confirming it had no obvious issues, ensuring Dusk wouldn’t detect any problems.

Of course, this might require Gamma Z to make another sacrifice.

It needed to be reinstalled into the artificial Delta-level core.

Chen Ming also asked Gamma Z about this.

Gamma Z expressed that doing so wouldn’t cause any permanent damage to itself, otherwise, it definitely wouldn’t take this risk.

Thus, Chen Ming took some time to use the engineering ship to dismantle the Torrent level, allowing Gamma Z to beat itself up a bit before inserting it into the Delta Core.
