Chapter 293: Chapter 117 Compensation of the 14th Legion_4

”My secret relationship with him and our conflicts have nothing to do with the public matters; they’re two separate things.”

”What’s on the surface has been resolved; even if there’s hatred in my secret relationship with him, it won’t affect my public dealings with you. You don’t need to worry.”

Although Bai Quan heard Chen Ming’s assurance, he still said, ”I see, but I think you deserve an explanation for this matter.”

Chen Ming realized Bai Quan’s deeper meaning at this moment and said, ”I actually don’t mind.”

”My dealings with you are just trade; I don’t know him, he’s been frozen in the escape pod without saying a word, and I won’t know him in the future.”

”Moreover, suppose, I mean suppose I considered your proposal later on, the Fourteenth Legion shouldn’t be small enough to require me to stay with him, right?”

Bai Quan couldn’t directly say it.

But Chen Ming’s stance indeed conflicts with Bai Quan’s and the Vice Admiral’s thoughts, or everyone’s thoughts in the Fourteenth Legion aware of this matter.

Almost everyone in the Fourteenth Legion is expecting a future cooperation between Cheng Xinghe and Chen Ming.

But if things go this way, it would be a bit off.

So Bai Quan didn’t answer Chen Ming’s question, but instead sincerely said, ”Someone on our side made a mistake, so he must give you a proper explanation.”

Chen Ming raised an eyebrow and said, ”Whatever.”

Chen Ming’s lack of complete refusal gave Bai Quan some reassurance.

However, he still found handling Chen Ming’s matters challenging, especially since he knew what Cheng Xinghe had done.

Although Dusk usually likes commanding fleet battles, it shouldn’t be to the extent of wanting to fight with everyone he sees.

And the calm composure most needed for a commander has always been a trait of his.

It’s just that Chen Ming being a Psychic might be too sensitive a matter for Cheng Xinghe.

He recently lost to a Psychic, who was someone he was quite familiar with.

So he overly wanted to defeat a Psychic to prove himself.

This ultimately led to this situation.

Therefore, they had to wait for the rescue results, provide ample compensation, and let the previous matters completely pass.

Only then could they continue to resolve Cheng Xinghe’s issues.

Bai Quan soon took his leave, ending the communication.

Meanwhile, the officer in the director’s office received instructions that the mission was complete and could return, and after chatting briefly with the director, left the office,

while the company people merely nodded to the director before leaving.

In the office remained only the director and Old Wu, who had been waiting by the door without hearing any useful information,

and Chen Ming, connected in communication with the director.

Taking advantage that Chen Ming hadn’t ended the call, Old Wu suddenly darted to the director’s side and asked Chen Ming, ”Xiao Ming, isn’t your situation bad? Still need the Fourteenth Legion to rescue you?”

Chen Ming, hearing Old Wu’s question, first glanced at the Iron Ore No.’s external cameras and confirmed he had about ten minutes of free time, then said to Old Wu, ”I’m actually doing okay.”

”All my arrangements here are moving slowly; the main thing is to give the people rescuing me some peace of mind and to cooperate with them a bit.”

”My ability won’t be easily given up by Dusk, so although I do find it hard to leave right now, my safety is still guaranteed.”

”There’s a lot I can’t say here; if there are questions, talk on my ship.”

Old Wu smirked and said, ”That’s good; we don’t want to see you die so early.”

”Don’t worry, I’m not going to die that easily.”

”I have a lot more to do.”
