Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Communication between different worldsAfter the last stream, Wang Lei had carefully considered things and believed that the person, who in the public eye was just an Easter egg, was not simple.

His eyes were not dull like other game characters; instead, they were full of wisdom.

This was something that even current game technology couldn’t change.

So he had a bold conjecture: could this so-called Easter egg character be a human trapped in the game?

Running all the way to the savage camp, Wang Lei, as before, stealthily hid in the bushes to observe.

”Brothers, let’s take a vote: should we go out directly, or wait until this NPC finishes killing the savages?”

[”Streamer, let’s just vote on whether to kill this NPC. I suggest killing him; his equipment is too good!”]

[”The one upstairs, go play another game! The Easter egg rescue worker given by the official, killing him won’t drop any weapons.”]

[”And this is still touted as the most realistic game? What a pile of rubbish!”]

........

Soon, the bullet comments in the live stream changed, with various contempt hierarchies emerging endlessly.

Wang Lei was speechless seeing the bullet comments start arguing again, so he had to contact the moderators to kick out a few of the instigators.

As for killing this so-called NPC, Wang Lei couldn’t do it. He had an inexplicable feeling that this was truly not an NPC.

The last time he met him, he seemed to want to talk to him, but unfortunately, at that time he was using a PC, which didn’t have a speaking function. The virtual game pod did have a voice function, but it was useless, as the savages in the game were just programs and couldn’t understand what you were mumbling about.

Soon, under Lin Feng’s precise marksmanship, all the savages in the entire savage camp were killed.

Lin Feng specifically counted while killing the savages and found that there were more than the 25 savages the system mentioned. Perhaps some savages were attracted by the gunshots?

Lin Feng also found the savage chieftain. He wore a necklace made of many human bones, and his weapon was a human skull. Moreover, he had three legs and four arms. It must be said that this guy was really tough; Lin Feng had to shoot him five or six times to kill him.

It was a pity there was nothing useful on him. The only useful thing in the entire savage tribe was probably that golden treasure chest.

The difficulty of the floor, as the broadcast said, had increased a lot. If Lin Feng didn’t have an automatic rifle, he probably wouldn’t be so arrogant, let alone other Seekers who only had weapons like bows and arrows. Once surrounded by savages, they could only wait for death.

”Let’s go find the chest first.”

Lin Feng checked the Elevator’s closing time and found that there was still enough time, so he began to seriously search for the gold chest. He hadn’t found it in several grass huts before.

Now there was only one place left, and that was the hole from which the savages had crawled out.

Looking at the narrow, damp hole, Lin Feng felt goosebumps all over his body.

Did he really have to go down?

Just looking at it was making him feel claustrophobic!

Just then, Wang Lei, encouraged by the viewers in the live stream, slowly walked out of the bushes.

To avoid being directly shot into a sieve by this NPC, Wang Lei greeted him in advance.

[”Streamer is so stupid. Is a greeting even needed for this? It’s just an NPC. The official probably set this NPC to be friendly and won’t attack you no matter what you do.”]

[”That makes sense, but the streamer might be immersed in the virtual reality scenario.”]

[”To be honest, sometimes when I play virtual reality games, I also treat NPCs as people.”]

[”Hahahaha, treating them as people is too real. It’s like when I play ’Morality and Law 10’ in a game pod, I don’t even feel right killing people.”]

..........

At this moment, Wang Lei wasn’t looking at the bullet comments. Instead, he was constantly ready to end the stream, because he was about to ask some rather idiotic questions, and he was afraid that tomorrow he would be directly slandered by marketing accounts as a streamer who had gone crazy from playing games.

A streamer who couldn’t distinguish between the virtual world and the real world.

”Brothers, I just received a notification that there will be a power outage in about 5 minutes, so if I suddenly go offline later, don’t ask why. I’ll start streaming again when the power comes back.”

[”Power outage? Damn it! Streamer, are you trying to be lazy?!”]

[”I don’t believe there would still be power outages in this era. The streamer must be looking for an excuse to take a day off.”]

[”I’ll send a rocket, don’t have a power outage.”]

[”Hahahaha.....”]

........

Lin Feng looked at the player slowly approaching him, a little confused. Why was this guy not playing his game properly and coming to bother him?

Wait a minute!

Could it be that he thought he was an NPC in the game??

Given players’ habits, that was very possible.

”Hello.”

Wang Lei said cautiously.

”Hello.”

[”Oh my god! The streamer is interacting with an NPC!”]

[”Could this be a test content from the game’s official developers? Perhaps in the future, players using game pods will be able to chat with NPCs through the in-game speaking function!”]

[”That makes sense. After all, since the game pod has a speaking function, it must be useful. Streamer, quickly continue the conversation and see what you can learn.”]

Click!

[”Streamer has gone offline. Follow us so you don’t get lost~”]

Faced with the sudden end of the stream, the viewers in the live room discussed even more fiercely. Although Wang Lei had just used the excuse of a power outage, in an era of such advanced technology, the reason for a power outage was indeed a bit far-fetched.

So no one believed this reason. Instead, they were discussing that the streamer had come into contact with an in-game beta feature and was contacted by the game’s official developers to go offline.

But none of this concerned Wang Lei anymore. He was now very certain that the person in front of him was not an NPC in the game, but a living human being.

Because according to what he knew, the game developers of The Forest did not create a function for interacting with NPCs, and the speaking function in the game was also prepared for multiplayer.

”Hello, are you human?”

Wang Lei’s words left Lin Feng speechless.

Did he look that different from a human??

Or was it that this guy didn’t treat him as an NPC...

”Evidently, I am a human.”

”I mean, are you a human trapped in the game? This forest is a game in my eyes.”

”I guess I wouldn’t count as a human trapped in this game. I’ll be leaving this world in an hour and a half.”

Hearing Lin Feng’s words, Wang Lei was so excited he could have flown.

He never expected to actually encounter such a mysterious situation.

”Then who are you?”

”I... I guess I’m a pathetic bug traversing various worlds.”

Lin Feng thought for a moment before saying. His current situation was indeed like this: every day was a different floor, and each floor was a different world.

Now, in a game world, he had actually been discovered by a player.

Soon, these two people from different worlds and different civilizations began to chat.
