Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

The elevator is going down, please hold on to it steadily!“Where is this? Was I kidnapped?”

Lin Feng rubbed his dizzy head and stood up.

Not long ago, he was still rushing to his 8 AM class. Since he wasn’t used to living in the dorms, he had rented an apartment off-campus with someone else. He didn’t know which godforsaken person invented the 8 AM class.

“Why am I in an Elevator?”

Lin Feng reached out and pressed the open door button, but the Elevator didn’t respond. Just then, the LCD screen next to the button suddenly lit up, and a strange voice came from the Elevator’s loudspeaker.

“Welcome, lucky ones, to the world of Elevator Seekers.”

“Here, there are endless treasures and deadly dangers. Every day at 12 o’clock, the Elevator will enter a new floor. You can choose to enter the floor to explore, or you can choose to stay in the safe Elevator. Regardless, the Elevator will close in one hour. Seekers who do not enter the Elevator will remain on this floor forever.”

“You may also enter the same floor as other Seekers. You can cooperate to explore the floor, or you can kill each other.”

“The screen next to the Elevator button allows you to communicate or trade with each other.”

“You can use the resources obtained from your floor to upgrade the Elevator, turning it into a base. The level is the same as the chat room level.”

“The Elevator is an absolutely safe area. All creatures encountered on the floor will not enter the Elevator. However, this is limited to creatures on the floor; the Elevator cannot withstand attacks from other Seekers, so please protect the Elevator well.”

“Now, the game begins!”

.........

After the voice disappeared, Lin Feng calmed down. It seemed he wasn’t kidnapped; instead, he was transported to another world, just like in novels. And according to what that voice just said, he wasn’t the only one.

At this moment, the screen had already loaded. It was a chat room. His avatar and name were followed by a capital ’1’, which seemed to be his level. Next to it were the materials needed for upgrading: 50 kilograms of wood and 100 kilograms of iron.

The chat room was also divided into ’all chat’ and ’private chat’, and it automatically translated languages.

“Where is this? Is anyone there? What should we do?”

“Everyone heard what that voice just said, right? We might have been teleported to another world.”

“Damn it, I just won ten million in the lottery!!!”

“So, this isn’t the underworld after all? I just jumped from upstairs and ended up here. I thought this was the underworld.”

..............

The chat room was very lively, indicating that many people had been transported to this world. The Elevator’s space was also very large, even bigger than a normal freight Elevator.

Just then, a voice sounded in Lin Feng’s mind.

“Drip, detecting host entering the world. Prediction System has been bound.”

“Drip, the floor the host is about to enter is not dangerous. There is a machete in the teacher’s desk drawer. In the second column, third row of desks, there is an unopened bag of chocolate. Note: All items in the classroom can be disassembled.”

“Ding dong! Elevator descending, please hold on tight.”

The Elevator’s broadcast sounded, and Lin Feng immediately felt a sense of weightlessness. A moment later, this feeling disappeared, and the Elevator door opened automatically.

Lin Feng wasn’t particularly surprised that he had bound a system, but he was definitely secretly pleased. After all, binding a system meant he had an advantage over others, and this system seemed to be able to predict floor information!

“This really is a classroom.”

Lin Feng said, looking at the clean classroom.

Above the blackboard were the classic eight characters: ’Study hard, make progress every day’.

Walking to the teacher’s desk, Lin Feng indeed found a machete in the drawer, but why would there be a machete in this classroom?

Then Lin Feng looked at the desk the system mentioned and found the bag of chocolate inside the desk’s cubby.

However, it was still early; only one minute had passed, and the Elevator wouldn’t close for another 59 minutes.

The place on the Elevator that should have displayed the floor now showed a countdown to the Elevator closing.

“59:23”

There was still a lot of time, so Lin Feng wasn’t in a hurry and continued to search the classroom.

After spending a few minutes rummaging through all the desks, Lin Feng only found a blank notebook.

He really didn’t understand why this was clearly a classroom, yet there wasn’t even a single book. Moreover, all the windows were opaque, and even the door was locked tight.

However, the Elevator upgrade just happened to need wood, so he might as well chop up all these desks.

Lin Feng swung the machete to test it and found that it was exceptionally handy to wield and very sharp. Unfortunately, all the desks, chairs, and even the teacher’s desk in the entire classroom were made of wood, with no iron present.

There were about 40 desks. Lin Feng was just a college student who liked playing games and rarely exercised. After more than 50 minutes of work, he had only dismantled 20 desks. If he didn’t disassemble them and tried to move them directly into the Elevator, he wouldn’t be able to fit many.

“Six more minutes. I’m not doing it anymore. Damn it, I need to exercise more in the future!”

Lin Feng said, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead.

Then he moved six more chairs before returning to the Elevator.

After Lin Feng returned, the Elevator door closed just in time, and Lin Feng vaguely heard noisy sounds.

“This classroom, could there really be students having class inside??”

Lin Feng scratched his head, looking at the 20 desks he had dismantled.

Never mind. If this really was a school, he believed the school authorities would replenish the desks.

Lin Feng then looked at the screen again; the materials required for the upgrade had changed.

“Upgrade required: 10 kg wood, 100 kg iron.”

“Damn it, so many desks only amount to 40 kg? There must be a middleman!”

And the Elevator must have counted the chairs too, because Lin Feng saw chairs in the details below.

After removing the chairs, 10 more kilograms of wood were needed.

Lin Feng had also brought these chairs back for resting.

After arranging the six chairs, Lin Feng lay down to try them and found he could lie down comfortably.

However, there wasn’t much space left in the Elevator.

“Let’s check the chat room.”

Lin Feng got up, went to the screen, and opened the chat room.

“Have you all completed the first floor? Did you encounter any danger?”

“I finished exploring. Mine was an unfinished building. I only found two shovels and a leather bucket.”

“Mine was also relatively safe, but just a bit disgusting. The floor I entered was a public restroom, and the smell inside was too nauseating. I didn’t stay long and returned to the Elevator.”

“Upstairs, your public restroom should have a faucet, right?”

“Yes, but I’m not thirsty, and I don’t have anything to hold water.”

“Even if you’re not thirsty, drink some! What if you get thirsty later and can’t find any?”

“You go drink it. Toilet water, it’ll disgust you to death.”

..............

“It seems everyone’s floors were safe. I entered an abandoned factory and found 20 kg of scrap iron and half a bottle of mineral water.”
