Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Oversized leather backpack“Right, I should apologize to the original owner first.”

Lin Feng scratched his head, then pulled the female corpse out from under the bed.

“Miss, I’m so sorry, but I’m borrowing your bedding for a bit. Thank you very, very much!”

“Ding! Host has triggered a random mission. Please choose whether or not to complete the Red Clothed Vicious Ghost’s last wish.”

“Completion Reward: One extra-large cowhide backpack.”

It can even trigger random missions!

Lin Feng glanced at the Elevator’s closing time; there were still forty minutes left, which was plenty of time. Why wouldn’t he accept it?

So, Lin Feng chose to accept the mission.

“Ding! Random Mission: Red Clothed Vicious Ghost’s Last Wish: In 5 minutes, the male side of a ghost marriage will appear on this floor. Please kill all of them and burn their bodies.”

After hearing the mission requirements, Lin Feng breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, it wasn’t difficult, and there were no ghosts involved. He should be able to handle it with his hand crossbow and save bullets.

Lin Feng thought for a moment, then decided to hide under the bed, pulling the female corpse under with him.

After quietly waiting for 5 minutes, two people appeared before Lin Feng’s eyes, one male and one female. They were holding a male corpse dressed in a groom’s outfit.

These should be the mission targets.

Lin Feng loaded his crossbow, aimed, and fired!

At such close range, and using a hand crossbow, if he still missed, he might as well just kill himself by crashing into something.

The man, shot in the neck, clutched his profusely bleeding throat, unable to utter a single word, and collapsed to the ground with a thud.

The woman beside him was startled. Just as she was about to scream for help, Lin Feng’s crossbow bolt arrived as expected.

Having killed two people in a row, Lin Feng’s mindset had stabilized. It wasn’t like the previous headshot with the pistol, which was truly disgusting, with brains splattered all over the wall. A normal person might genuinely find it unbearable at first.

Of course, it might also be because the scene wasn’t as bloody.

Next up was burning the bodies. Lin Feng looked around.

“Isn’t this convenient!”

To create a festive atmosphere, many oil lamps had been lit in the room. Lin Feng directly knocked over all the oil lamps and poured the oil onto the bodies, immediately igniting a roaring fire.

“Mission complete!”

Lin Feng clapped his hands, then returned to the Elevator. However, at this point, the system had not yet given the mission completion prompt. Perhaps the bodies had to be completely burned to ashes.

This time, the gains were really good. Even without the system’s reward, Lin Feng was quite satisfied.

One Ghost Repelling Talisman, which he used, two gold coins, and one blanket.

The most valuable among them should be the Ghost Repelling Talisman, and its purpose was likely to allow Seekers to kill the Red Clothed Vicious Ghost.

After spreading out the blanket and bedding, Lin Feng’s bed finally looked somewhat decent.

After lying down comfortably, he could quietly wait for the mission to complete.

The Elevator would close in over twenty minutes.

“System, if the Elevator doors close and the bodies aren’t fully burned yet, will I not get my reward?”

“Ding! No, Host, please wait patiently.”

The system’s words immediately made Lin Feng think of many things.

Could it be that after these Seekers leave a floor, the time on that floor continues to pass?

Lin Feng suddenly had a bold guess in his mind: could these floors all be individual worlds?

Recalling the noise he heard on the classroom floor before, Lin Feng felt that his speculation should be correct.

But even if he knew that each floor was an independent world, what then? He couldn’t get out anyway.

“Let’s eat the Body Strengthening Pill first.”

Lin Feng looked at the dark pill in his hand and popped it into his mouth without a second thought.

“Hm?”

“Hm??!”

As the pill entered Lin Feng’s mouth and touched his taste buds, Lin Feng’s expression twisted as if he were wearing a mask of pain.

“Ugh!”

“It’s so damn bitter! And why is it so astringent!”

“Damn system, is this pill made of shit?????”

Although Lin Feng wanted to spit it out, he couldn’t bear to. So, he quickly took out water and gulped down several mouthfuls, finally washing the pill down.

“Other people’s pills melt in your mouth, and even if they’re not fruit-flavored, they’re sweet. But this pill of yours is as unpalatable as shit.”

Lin Feng dry-heaved, then began to feel the changes in his body. If there were no changes, he’d know how to confront the system.

“Ding! Please calm down, Host. This system never scams people.”

“With that promise, I’m relieved, buddy.”

Lin Feng nodded, then waited.

One minute later....

Two minutes later....

Five minutes later....

Ten minutes later....

......

“Ding! Host mission completed. Reward: One extra-large cowhide backpack.”

“What about the changes in my body? Why can’t I feel anything?”

Lin Feng clenched his fists, only feeling as weak as before.

“Ding! Please do some push-ups, Host, and you will notice the difference from before.”

“I’ll trust you this once.”

Lin Feng placed the cowhide backpack aside, then began doing push-ups.

One hour later.

“Holy crap! Am I this awesome?”

Before, Lin Feng could do a dozen standard push-ups, which was already quite good. This time, he actually did push-ups for an hour straight! And he didn’t feel tired at all.

At this moment, Lin Feng suddenly felt his stomach was hard. He reached out and touched it, and tears immediately welled up in his eyes.

My four-pack abs! They’re finally back!

“Ding! Please continue exercising, Host. The effects of the Body Strengthening Pill will continue to manifest.”

“Good stuff! System, you didn’t lie to me!”

After confirming that he wasn’t a huge sucker, Lin Feng picked up the cowhide backpack and examined it.

“It’s not that big.”

“What the—?”

Just as Lin Feng’s hand touched the backpack, five grids appeared on his retina.

“Ding! This backpack is a spatial backpack. Each grid can store one item, and it can stack up to 200 kilograms of that item.”

Divine equipment!

This was simply divine equipment!

Lin Feng immediately shoved the wood and scrap iron into the backpack. If he had obtained this backpack on the recycling center floor, would he ever lack iron??

He would fill all five grids! A whole ton of scrap iron!

After putting on the cowhide backpack, Lin Feng felt no weight at all, just the weight of the cowhide backpack itself.

“A treasure!”

Lin Feng sighed, then carefully put the cowhide backpack away, and immediately took out a can of beef to feast on.

Honestly, the canned food tasted really good. It wasn’t too salty or bland. Lin Feng ate all the soup and meat, and was perfectly full.

He even felt a bit stuffed. After eating and drinking his fill, Lin Feng exercised for another two hours, not going to sleep until past three in the morning.

He slept straight until 11:30 AM.
