After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2138: Chapter 2142: If... It’s Not a Bother

Drinking coffee while working is Luo Ke’s habit.

This habit, Leng Zimo learned about after observing for a few days.

At night, the maid routinely grinds the coffee, authentic Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, roasted a few days in advance, with adequate fermentation time, making the flavor richer.

Once, Leng Zimo was also a coffee enthusiast, but later, after meeting Luo Xiaoqian, he gradually quit coffee and started falling in love with tea. Nowadays, he rarely drinks coffee.

However, that’s not the main point. The main point is that tonight, he plans to add something to Luo Ke’s coffee.

In his pocket, there’s a small bag of powdered medicine, ground from sleeping pills, which he quietly found while the maid was helping him look for headache medicine.

The maid began brewing coffee, while Leng Zimo was preparing the egg tart mixture.

This was prepared for Luo Xiaoqian’s midnight snack for tomorrow. By noon, there were not many eggs left in the fridge, Leng Zimo noted the empty egg rack.

”Julie, could you help me get a few eggs?” he turned to look at the maid brewing coffee, shrugging, ”If... it’s not too much trouble.”

”Not at all, I’m very happy to assist you.” The maid smiled at him, ”Watch the coffee for me, I’ll be right back.”

”Okay.” Leng Zimo agreed with a smile.

As the maid left the kitchen, Leng Zimo put his things on the table, carefully washed his hands and dried them with a towel. Seeing no one was around, he quickly walked over to the coffee pot, took out the powdered medicine from his pocket, and poured it into the pot.

The powder fell into the coffee and was quickly engulfed by the rolling foam. Leng Zimo stirred it with a spoon, tasted it to ensure there was no strange taste, then rinsed the spoon clean and returned to his position.

When the maid returned with the eggs, Leng Zimo had already prepared the tart shells, carefully placing them into the molds one by one.

Taking the eggs from the maid and placing them in the fridge, Leng Zimo glanced at the coffee pot, ”It should be about time now, right?”

”Ah!”

The maid exclaimed, hurriedly coming over to turn off the electric coffee pot, pouring the coffee inside into a cup, placing it on a tray, and sending it upstairs.

Watching her leave, Leng Zimo poured the prepared egg tart mixture into the ready tart shells, then put them into the oven and set the time.

Coffee is meant to be drunk either hot or cold. Someone like Luo Ke would likely be the same as before, so by the time these tarts are baked, the drugs in his system should start to take effect.

He went to the bathroom to wash his hands, lifted his face, and looked at the decorative mirror on the wall.

The mirror reflected his appearance, a scruffy beard, intentionally messy wig, gray-black eyes... the style was a bit rough, but still alright.

He took off the apron he was wearing, raised his palm, and straightened the shirt on his body.

The maid quickly returned, Leng Zimo spoke in a casual tone, ”What did the gentleman think?”

”He didn’t say anything.” The maid assumed he was worried that Luo Ke might get angry with her if the coffee was bad, and replied with a smile.

”Is the gentleman still working?” Leng Zimo asked calmly.

”He always is. His work is very busy. He would go a month without being here for a day. This time, if it weren’t for the lady, he definitely wouldn’t stay this long.” The maid said while tidying up the coffee pot.
