After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2120: Chapter 2124: Please Be Sure to Attend

Luo Ke watched the group chatting and laughing harmoniously. Having never done such work before, he took the initiative to step forward and took a plate from a maid.

”What are you guys talking about?” He deliberately sought a topic.

Luo Xiaoqian was only afraid that he would notice her interaction with Leng Zimo, so she quickly said, ”Nothing much.”

Her tone couldn’t be described as friendly and gentle, but at least she was willing to talk to him. Luo Ke immediately spoke again, ”Is this plate supposed to go here?”

Luo Xiaoqian responded indifferently with a simple ”Mm.”

Heaven knows, if it wasn’t for the chance to interact more with Leng Zimo, she wouldn’t have wanted to come here for any barbecue with him.

Soon, the preparations were complete. Leng Zimo lit up the charcoal and began to grill. Luo Xiaoqian sat under the sunshade, holding juice, sipping lazily, with her gaze occasionally drifting toward Leng Zimo.

He grilled with great concentration, skill, and professionalism.

Watching his actions, she had an illusion as if she had seen this scene countless times before.

Had she eaten his barbecue before?!

After grilling the meat, Leng Zimo carefully placed it on a plate and then handed a plate to the maid.

”This is for the lady.”

The maid handed the plate to Luo Xiaoqian, who quickly took it, picked a skewer of grilled shrimp, and brought it to her lips.

The shrimp was too hot at first; her lips felt the heat, so she quickly pulled back, puckered her lips, and blew a few times before cautiously tasting it.

The shrimp was grilled to perfection, slightly charred on the outside but tender on the inside, especially since the flavor wasn’t overwhelming—just the way she liked it. Despite growing up by the seaside, the only seafood Luo Xiaoqian favored was shrimp, and naturally, Leng Zimo knew this and catered to her preference.

”Delicious!”

After eating just half a skewer of shrimp, she had already offered Leng Zimo a thumbs up.

Leng Zimo responded with a smile but quickly withdrew his gaze. With Luo Ke around, he couldn’t be too ostentatious; otherwise, it would arouse suspicion and not be worth the risk.

”Sissi, I’ve been thinking. How about we go to Rome the day after tomorrow?” Luo Ke suggested while cutting the grilled meat on the plate.

Upon hearing this proposal, Leng Zirui and Leng Zimo showed some excitement.

Both of them turned their attention to Luo Xiaoqian, only for her answer to be completely unexpected.

”I’m feeling a bit unwell, don’t want to move.”

Right now, Luo Xiaoqian wasn’t that keen on the idea of going to Rome; her interest was more in Leng Zimo.

She wanted to go to Rome primarily to find that man. If Leng Zimo turned out to be him, she felt there was no need to rush to Rome. Her urgency was more about figuring out Leng Zimo’s identity.

”Do you need to see a doctor?” Luo Ke asked worriedly, setting down his utensils.

”No, I’m just feeling a bit lazy, don’t want to move,” Luo Xiaoqian said casually.

Luo Ke heard this and slightly frowned, suspecting she was still cross with him.

”Actually... I think it’s good to go out and wander a bit. Although the scenery is lovely on this island, staying in such a small place might feel a bit stifling, right?” Leng Zirui said with a smile, seemingly supporting Luo Ke, but in reality trying to persuade Luo Xiaoqian to leave the island.

Luo Xiaoqian remained unmoved, ”Let’s talk about it in a few days.”

”Alright then,” Leng Zirui shrugged, ”In a few days... Roselia’s funeral, please be sure to attend.”

”Okay,” this time, Luo Xiaoqian did not refuse.
