After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2137: Chapter 2141: Hold Me a Little Longer...

Ah Sang led Luo Jun back to his room to shower and rest, while Ah Jiu walked to Xu Xia’s bedside and placed a glass of water and a tablet on her nightstand, ”This is the medication prescribed by the doctor for you. After taking it, have a good rest tonight. In the next few days, you should stay at the villa until the sir has rescued the madam, then we’ll return to Beijing together.”

”You really have it tough. You’re already so busy but still taking care of me.” Xu Xia apologized as she took the tablet, popped it into her mouth, and swallowed it down with a sip.

”Miss Xu, you don’t need to be so polite. You’re friends with sir and madam, and you’re Mr. Leng’s girlfriend. This is what we should be doing.” Ah Jiu smiled gently, ”Sleep well, don’t overthink things. After a few days, everything will get better.”

After Ah Jiu left, Xu Xia lay on her pillow, and looking at her right hand, she immediately extended her left hand to tear off the gauze.

Opening her palm, she gazed at the bracelet and ring that had been held in her palm the entire time. After thoroughly checking them to ensure there was no damage, she sighed with relief, slowly closed her fingers, curled up on the pillow, and embraced the palm holding the bracelet to her chest, gently shutting her eyes.

Time quietly passed by, and soon Xu Xia drifted into a deep sleep.

Xu Xia had some external injuries, but her deeper wounds were within her heart. Therefore, the doctor had also prescribed some calming medication for her to help soothe her mood.

On the terrace, a shadow cautiously stepped into her room.

Although he had made a scene at the police station, he hadn’t stayed long there. Ultimately, he couldn’t stop worrying about her so, unable to meet her face-to-face, he notified Ah Jiu and climbed up to the terrace to check on her.

With both Ah Jiu and Ah Sang’s reassurance, Leng Zirui naturally managed to sneak in smoothly.

Beside the bed, the small lamp was left on, illuminating her face, which appeared slightly haggard.

Noticing the gauze she had torn off, Leng Zirui raised an eyebrow, carefully extending his palm to remove her right hand from beneath the covers.

The wound on the back of her hand had already scabbed over. He carefully removed her bracelet and ring, thoughtfully rewrapped her palm with gauze, then put the bracelet and ring back on her hand. He reached over to turn off the small lamp, ensuring it wouldn’t disturb her sleep.

”Zirui...”

On the pillow, Xu Xia suddenly let out a low murmur.

Leng Zirui was startled, anxiously looking towards her.

Xu Xia did not open her eyes; her eyelids remained closed.

”I’m sorry... I...” Xu Xia mumbled incoherently, ”I...”

Repeating the word ”I” several times, she didn’t continue, but tears silently trickled from the corner of her eye.

”Silly girl...” Realizing she was just dreaming, Leng Zirui still felt a deep pang of heartache and sat back down beside the bed, raising a hand to gently stroke her hair, ”The one who should be apologizing is me. I’m sorry, darling... Don’t worry, no matter what happens, you’ll always be the love of my life, Xu Xia.”

Lowering his face, he kissed away the tear stain at the corner of her eye, and gently embraced her.

”Zirui...”

Still muddled, Xu Xia instinctively clung to his arm.

Feeling her attachment, Leng Zirui tightened his arms, drawing her into his embrace, softly patting her back as if soothing a child.

”Don’t be afraid, I’m here. Have a good sleep. Everything will soon pass, I promise!”

Under his comforting presence, Xu Xia gradually calmed down, her breath slowly steadied, and she finally fell into the deepest slumber.

Feeling her hand embrace his waist, Leng Zirui pressed his lips, raising his hand to gently adjust the thin blanket over her.

”Alright, I’ll hold you a while longer, just a bit longer...”

...

Good afternoon
