After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2102: Chapter 2106: Let Me Take You

Weakly shrinking into a corner of the elevator, Xu Xia bit her lip and crouched down.

The elevator gently bumped and came to a stop.

Ding!

Xu Xia hurriedly stood up, swiftly wiped away the tear stains from the corners of her eyes, straightened up, and turned her face to pretend to study the oil painting on the wall.

The elevator doors parted, and a tall figure stepped in elegantly in a suit, his face exuding a refined elegance—it was Shangguan Feng.

Last night, like everyone else, Shangguan Feng had stayed at the hotel. His room was on the 38th floor, and he was now ready to leave the hotel.

Seeing Xu Xia in the elevator, Shangguan Feng’s eyes lit up with surprise.

”Miss Xu?”

Xu Xia had been pretending to study the oil painting to mask her emotions and wasn’t in the mood to notice who had entered. Still, upon hearing his voice, she politely turned her face to him with a slight smile, despite her disinterest.

”Mr. Shangguan.”

Her voice was noticeably hoarse, her curly hair draped casually over her shoulders, and her large eyes appeared distinctly bloodshot; from her appearance, it seemed she had been crying.

His gaze fell upon her neck, noting a few ambiguous dark red marks, and Shangguan Feng’s brow immediately furrowed.

Last night, after arriving at the casino, he had actually intended to chat with her more, but some acquaintances caught him for conversation, and out of politeness, he couldn’t refuse. At that time, he saw her gambling at a table with Ray, but when he eventually had free time to approach, she was already gone, and Ray was also absent. He hadn’t given it much thought then.

Now, observing Xu Xia’s disheveled makeup, it wasn’t hard for him to guess what had transpired the night before.

A sense of pity naturally rose in his heart, along with a tinge of regret.

If he had found her sooner last night, maybe this wouldn’t have happened.

Someone like Ray was clearly no good; how could he not have anticipated that the guy would do such a thing to Xu Xia!

Damn it!

Looking at Xu Xia’s profile, Shangguan Feng furrowed his brow tightly, extending his arm to comfort her, then reconsidered and withdrew his hand.

”Miss Xu, are you heading back to the hotel? Perhaps I could give you a ride?”

In this situation, the girl might prefer that no one noticed anything, so Shangguan Feng kindly avoided touching her wounds.

”No need.” Xu Xia refused coldly and directly.

She was speaking to him out of politeness. If it weren’t for his gentle demeanor and gentlemanly manner, she wouldn’t have even bothered to acknowledge him.

Shangguan Feng remained silent; he sensed that silence was probably the best choice now.

The elevator descended slowly, and Xu Xia lifted her face, her gaze sweeping past the elevator door, catching her own reflection inside it. She quickly raised a hand to tidy her somewhat disheveled hair.

Previously consumed by intense emotions, she hadn’t thought much. Now, as her mood calmed slightly, many questions began to surface in her mind.

What exactly happened last night?

She tried hard to remember but couldn’t recall anything; all she remembered was Lei Qingqing discussing cooperation with her, then bidding farewell. After that, everything was blank.

Right, she did have a drink with Lei Qingqing then, but she only took a small sip, so it shouldn’t be the alcohol.

Having spent years in this circle and experienced some dangerous situations, coupled with Leng Zirui’s special warnings to her and recent occurrences, she became increasingly cautious, fearing any alcohol-related mishaps.
