After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2115: Chapter 2119: We’ve Met Before

”We’ve met before, haven’t we?”

Luo Xiaoqian watched Leng Zimo’s hands as he cut the fruit. His fingers were long and slender, and his skin was well cared for. Such hands didn’t really look like those of a chef.

Leng Zimo paused for a moment, then continued cutting the fruit.

”I mean, before you came to the island, we met.”

This time, it was not a question, but an affirmative statement.

The pause just now already answered the question.

”I know you understand what I’m saying. You don’t just understand Chinese; you can also speak and write it!” Luo Xiaoqian continued, her voice so low that only the two of them could hear. ”Who exactly are you?”

Leng Zimo put all the fruit into the juicer, turned his face to look at her.

Her eyes were bright, filled with an expectant look. She was waiting for him to tell her the truth.

That gaze was something he could never refuse. He took a deep breath, hesitating on how to begin.

Had she... felt his familiarity?!

”Mr. L!” The kitchen door was pushed open, and a bodyguard walked in. ”Mr. Luo Ke said there will be a barbecue at the beach for lunch.”

”Alright, I’ll prepare it right away.”

Leng Zimo responded immediately, then raised his hand to press the switch. Quickly, the juice flowed out, filling the cup.

He picked up the cup and carefully skimmed the foam off with a spoon before handing the cup to her.

The bodyguard walked in to get the grill, leaving Luo Xiaoqian unable to say anything more, so she just reached out to take the cup he offered.

Noticing the band-aid wrapped around her finger, Leng Zimo’s brows furrowed immediately. He reached out and grabbed her left palm, looking at her injured finger, then looked at her face inquisitively.

Next to them, two bodyguards lifted the grill and walked out, passing by them. Leng Zimo hurriedly lowered his hand, yet still kept her fingers clasped in his palm.

His palm was dry and warm. Luo Xiaoqian didn’t pull back her fingers, letting him hold them.

Not until the two bodyguards lifted the grill out of the kitchen did she speak.

”I accidentally pricked it while fishing.”

He lifted her finger and carefully peeled off the band-aid to check her wound. The bleeding had stopped and it was nothing serious.

He breathed a sigh of relief, then gave her an annoyed look and mumbled ”idiot” in Italian.

Idiot!

How could you manage to injure your hand while fishing?!

”You have to use Chinese, otherwise I can’t understand,” Luo Xiaoqian said, looking into his eyes.

Leng Zimo raised his hand to brush off the few grains of sand on her shoulder. ”Idiot!”

This time, he spoke in Chinese.

His tone held blame, frustration, but more than anything, it was full of distress and helplessness.

Those two simple words were filled with overwhelming emotion.

This ”idiot,” how familiar it sounded?!

Was his willingness to speak Chinese in front of her an acknowledgment of her suspicions?!

Luo Xiaoqian smirked triumphantly, ”Are you finally admitting that you can speak Chinese?”

Her smile was so bright, yet he felt only heartache.

Leng Zimo extended his hand, gently cupping her face.

As their eyes met, she could clearly see the fire in his blurred grey eyes, his black pupils like the night that threatened to engulf her.

Looking back into his eyes, Luo Xiaoqian’s heart began to race. An urgent and intense feeling surged through her veins, heating her face like fire.

As his eyes leaned closer to hers, she felt her heart almost leap out of her chest.
