After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2123: Chapter 2127: You Don’t Mind if I See You Off Too, Do You?

Xiao Jie had already taken the initiative to help her with her luggage, and the two walked towards the boarding area one after the other.

”Miss Xu!”

Not far away, a voice called out in surprise.

Xu Xia stopped in her tracks, following the voice to see Shangguan Feng smiling as he walked towards her in large strides.

Remembering his previous kindness, Xu Xia politely returned a smile, ”Young Master Shangguan.”

”Are you... leaving?” Shangguan Feng glanced at the suitcase in Xiao Jie’s hand.

”Ah, yes...” Xu Xia shrugged, ”There’s a last-minute work arrangement, I have to leave Rome immediately. And you?”

”I came to see off a friend, who just boarded.” Shangguan Feng’s lips curled into a smile, revealing his neat and handsome teeth, gentle and refined, ”Since I’ve run into Miss Xu, would you mind if I also see you off?”

”Too much trouble, it’s not necessary.” Xu Xia politely declined.

”Alright then.” Shangguan Feng took out a business card holder from his pocket, handed her a card, ”I’m organizing an exhibition in Beijing soon, I hope Miss Xu will attend then.”

Raising a hand, Xu Xia took the card, ”I wish you success with your exhibition in advance.”

She only wished him success, without saying she would attend, hinting she wouldn’t be present.

Shangguan Feng picked up on the implication in her words and smiled, ”Safe travels.”

Xu Xia thanked him, bid farewell, and turned to walk towards the boarding gate not far away.

Shangguan Feng stood where he was, watching her straight-backed stride forward, his eyes inevitably filled with a bit of sympathy.

For any young woman, such an ordeal was unfortunate, and even though Xu Xia seemed unaffected, with oversized sunglasses covering her eyes, he could still see a trace of undisguised melancholy and fatigue on her face.

As she reached the boarding gate, Xu Xia took her passport and ticket from her bag and handed them to the staff, while Xiao Jie also produced the necessary documents.

”Please remove your glasses.” The staff member’s face was all business.

Xu Xia complied, removing her sunglasses to reveal a pair of obviously bloodshot eyes.

The staff looked at her face, then at the name and photo on the passport, ”I’m sorry, there’s a problem with your passport, please come with us to the airport security room.”

A problem with the passport?

Xu Xia looked shocked.

”That can’t be, this passport was just reissued not long ago, the photo is the latest one.” She pushed back her long hair with her hand, ”Take a closer look, it really is me, there’s no problem, the plane is about to take off, we’re really pressed for time.”

”I’m sorry, Miss, please come with us. If your passport is not an issue, we’ll naturally let you pass.” The staff member’s tone remained impartial, while several security personnel had already approached.

”What are you doing?” Xiao Jie frowned, shielding Xu Xia.

”Xiao Jie, don’t be impulsive.” Xu Xia raised her hand to push him aside, ”Let’s go and have a look.”

With nothing to hide, she feared nothing.

She hadn’t done anything illegal, what was there to fear?

Xiao Jie reluctantly made way, and together with Xu Xia, followed the security personnel towards the security room.

In the distance, Shangguan Feng, who was heading towards the airport exit, turned to look back, initially only wanting to see if Xu Xia passed through smoothly. But seeing her being escorted by several people, he was startled and hurriedly rushed over.
