After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2122: Chapter 2126: A Small Misunderstanding?

Small misunderstanding?

Xu Xia didn’t recognize Leng Zirui, yet he was prepared to tell her the truth, which was completely unlike Leng Zirui’s usual way.

In a family like this, Leng Zimo knows best about the professional ethics of his father and Leng Zirui. If something unusual had not happened, Leng Zirui absolutely wouldn’t reveal the truth to Xu Xia.

”Small misunderstanding,” Leng Zirui said casually.

Leng Zimo wouldn’t believe it.

Knowing he didn’t want to say more, Leng Zimo did not press on, ”For the funeral arrangements, you go back and take care of things; this time, we absolutely shouldn’t miss the opportunity.”

”I will arrange it,” Leng Zirui nodded, then stood up straight, ”I’ll head out now to prevent Luo Ke from getting suspicious. These days, you need to be extra cautious. Don’t be overly affectionate with Xiao Qian in front of Luo Ke. This guy seems to have really fallen for Xiao Qian, and such men can be terribly jealous!”

”I’ll be doubly careful,” Leng Zimo said.

Taking some fruit from the fridge, Leng Zirui carried a platter to the door, casually pinched a grape and tossed it into his mouth, gently chewing it. He looked up at the sky overhead.

It’s already afternoon; the wife should have already bought the tickets and be preparing to return to Beijing by now, right?

...

...

As Leng Zirui expected, Lan Zi’s work ability was undoubtedly excellent. She adeptly managed her tasks in the morning, adjusted all plans, and purchased tickets for Xu Xia and everyone.

Since the trip was a last-minute decision, securing flights wasn’t very smooth. There were only two tickets for the direct flight; after consulting with Xu Xia and Xiao Jie, Xiao Jie decided that he and Xu Xia would take the direct flight, while the others would travel on a connecting flight back to Beijing.

The connecting flight would depart at three PM Rome time, and the direct flight was scheduled a bit later, after four PM.

Although the team members found the sudden change in itinerary strange, Lan Zi only said it was the company’s decision, and they didn’t ask more questions; instead, they hurried back to the hotel to pack their luggage.

After lunch, everyone rushed to the airport. By around two PM, the team members had successfully boarded, and seeing their flight about to depart, Xu Xia made a call to Ah Jiu to ask Luo Jun to behave.

Ah Jiu quickly handed the phone to Luo Jun, and the little one’s voice came through the receiver, childishly, ”Hello, is it Godmother?”

”Mo Mo, it’s me.” Listening to the little one’s voice, Xu Xia’s agitated mood was alleviated by a touch of warmth, ”Your Godmother is about to return to Beijing; you must be obedient and listen to Uncle Ah Jiu’s guidance!”

”Is Godmother’s work finished?” Luo Jun asked puzzledly.

He previously heard Xu Xia would be here for a week, but now she was leaving, which puzzled the little one.

”It’s a last-minute change in work,” Xu Xia casually explained.

”Shall I go to the airport to see you off, then?”

Xu Xia felt warmth in her heart, ”No need. Godmother is already at the airport, about to board the plane. Godmother will first return to Beijing, and when you and your parents return to Beijing, I’ll meet you at the airport to take you home, okay?”

”Okay,” Luo Jun agreed immediately.

”Miss Xu,” Xiao Jie gently reminded from the side, ”It’s time to board.”

”Alright, I need to board now, Mo Mo, goodbye.”

”Goodbye, Godmother. Godmother must take good care of herself; I will be obedient.”

”Good child.” Xu Xia kissed the phone and hung up.
