After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2128: Chapter 2132: An Even Worse Hell

After returning from the island, the first thing Leng Zirui did when he got ashore was to find a bar and go in for a drink. He finished the drink the bartender brought him in one go, and casually ordered another. He instructed his subordinate to wait there for him, then got up and walked to the bathroom, quickly entering a stall and sitting down on the toilet before immediately dialing Ah Jiu’s number.

”This is ROY. Has that girl left?”

”Mr. Leng.” On the other end, Ah Jiu’s voice was tinged with helplessness. ”Miss Xu is in trouble.”

”What happened?” Leng Zirui’s eyebrows immediately furrowed.

”She and Xiao Jie had already booked tickets to return to Beijing, but there was an issue during airport security. They found contraband in their luggage, and now they’ve been taken to the police station. I’m on my way there now.”

”Which police station?” Leng Zirui asked urgently.

Ah Jiu reported the name of the police station, ”There seems to be something suspicious about this. I suspect someone set them up on purpose. Xiao Jie couldn’t possibly have drugs on him.”

”Alright, I understand. I’ll head over right away.”

Leng Zirui hung up the phone, turned around and quickly walked out of the restroom, heading to the bar counter, and casually tossed a bill to his subordinate.

”You keep drinking, I’ll go arrange a girl.”

The subordinate, familiar with his boss’s temperament, didn’t find anything strange about it and offered him an ambiguous smile.

Leng Zirui lazily walked into the bar, but as soon as he stepped out the door, he sped up, rushed to the roadside, stopped a taxi, and reported the name of the police station.

Throughout the ride, he only remained deeply furrowed in thought.

He didn’t need to guess too much to know exactly who was behind this incident.

Xu Xia had no enemies here. The only person likely to trouble her was Lei Qingqing.

Damn it!

He had thought things would go smoothly for her to leave Rome, but this Lei Qingqing...

Leng Zirui clenched his fingers tightly, the force causing his fingernails to make a cracking sound.

In his pocket, his phone buzzed.

Leng Zirui fished out his phone, glancing at the number that belonged to Lei Qingqing, frowned and answered.

”Dear Qing Qing, are you thinking of me?”

Lei Qingqing chuckled softly on the other end, ”Mr. ROY, I think the one you should be thinking about right now is Miss Xu Xia, no?”

”What, are you jealous?” Leng Zirui asked with a laugh.

Lei Qingqing laughed lightly, ”Oh, nothing much. Just heard that your starlet girlfriend had a little mishap, so I thought I’d let you know.”

”Mishap?” Leng Zirui feigned surprise, ”What kind of mishap?”

”I’m not quite sure about the specifics, but I heard she’s still being held at the police station. I’ve already cleared the way for you. You just need to mention my name when you get there to see her. Rescue the damsel, and I’m sure she’ll be very grateful to you.” Lei Qingqing sighed softly, ”Mr. ROY, you now owe me two favors!”

”Don’t worry, one day I’ll make it up to you properly,” Leng Zirui replied ambiguously.

”Alright then... good luck.” Lei Qingqing hung up.

Listening to the dial tone on the other end, Leng Zirui cursed once again under his breath.

This damn woman, clearly she’s the one who set Xu Xia up, and now she’s pretending to be the good guy?

On the other end of the line, a subordinate looked at Lei Qingqing with some confusion.

”Miss, you...”

”Why did I tell ROY?” Lei Qingqing smiled coldly, ”First, because he will trust me. Second, falling into his hands is a hell worse than the police station for Xu Xia!”
