Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 850: Chapter 426: Another Accident

Their district supervisor lives quite far away, how could he come here immediately?

Manager Hou’s face sank and he had to say to Maria’s three brothers and father, ”Aren’t you going to act? This woman has threatened your daughter’s life and is now trying to run away!”

”You’re the one threatening Maria’s life! Who do you think you are? By what right do you arrest people? Are you a cop or a judge? I refuse to believe there’s no law in Chinatown!” Lawrence Winters suddenly lost his temper, pointing angrily at Manager Hou.

Manager Hou had never been scolded so harshly, and in a fit of rage, he lunged forward to deal with it himself.

Lawrence made a move to dodge, but her arm was still caught by Manager Hou.

She kicked him, striking right at Manager Hou’s knee.

Manager Hou only felt a numbness in his leg, his knee weakened, and he involuntarily released his grip, kneeling in front of Lawrence Winters.

Lawrence sneered and said, ”Sorry, I can’t accept such a grand gesture!”

With a bang, she closed the door in front of them.

Manager Hou felt humiliated, breathing heavily in anger.

They’ve done this kind of thing countless times before, but didn’t expect to hit a brick wall this time!

”Smash it! Smash it hard!” He got up from the ground, his face red as if he were about to have a stroke.

Maria’s three brothers immediately stepped forward to smash the door.

In this kind of small hotel, how sturdy can the doors be? Soon, the door was about to be kicked apart by them.

Sister Tian, hearing the noise downstairs, hurried up to see what’s going on, discovering it was Grant Branch’s two managers with Maria’s relatives smashing the door, she didn’t want to get involved, just hurried to call the hotel owner.

She’s only a small employee, unable to shoulder such responsibility.

The hotel owner was sleeping at home, got woken by the call, and upon hearing it was Grant Branch intervening, immediately chickened out, saying, ”Let them smash it, we’ll have someone repair the door tomorrow.”

Then hung up the phone, continued sleeping, pretending he doesn’t know.

Sister Tian had no choice, but to act like she didn’t know, quietly turning and going downstairs.

Just returned downstairs when several fully armed white and black police officers rushed in together.

Sister Tian immediately raised her hands, standing still there.

A white officer said, ”We received a report, is there a kidnapping here?”

Sister Tian only had time to say, ”Room 208 on the second floor.”

The officers quickly charged upstairs.

In the second-floor hallway, they saw several shirtless men aggressively attempting to smash a door.

Bam!

The officer immediately fired a shot!

Fortunately, the distance was far enough, no one was hit, but the spectators in the hallway were scared enough to crouch down with their heads covered.

Maria’s three brothers, father, and Grant Branch’s two managers turned their heads, seeing fully armed officers rushing over, their hearts skipped a beat.

Another unexpected event.

Generally, people in Chinatown don’t report to outsiders because even if they do, external police mostly won’t respond, unless the report is made by a white or black person.

Who exactly is the woman inside the door?

Manager Hou was filled with doubt but still immediately raised his hands saying, ”Misunderstanding! It’s all a misunderstanding!”

”Misunderstanding? We just saw you smashing the door, the lady inside reported that you attempted to kidnap her, please come with us to the police station.”

As they said this, the officers approached, handcuffed Maria’s three brothers, her father, as well as Manager Hu and Manager Hou, and took them away.

Facing the police who might shoot at any moment, these people acted wisely.

They wouldn’t resist, they can look for a lawyer to represent themselves once at the station.

Manager Hu and Manager Hou encountered such a situation for the first time, holding a grudge against Lawrence Winters.

Big D felt surprised standing nearby too.

Once the people outside Lawrence’s door were taken away, two female officers knocked on the door and reassured the person inside saying, ”Ma’am, the individuals have been removed, please open the door.”

Lawrence heard the noise outside, looked through the peephole seeing the police had arrived, and slowly opened the door, looking panic-stricken as she said, ”Have those bad people been taken away? They were so terrifying!”

With the door open, the two female officers saw she actually had an Asian face, mildly surprised.

But hearing her English accent, which was even more standard than theirs as local Caucasians, indeed an authentic Oxford accent, no wonder the 911 operator thought she was Caucasian...

However, seeing her clothing and the watch on her wrist, this person must be well-off, therefore treating Lawrence with extra courtesy.

The two female officers walked into Lawrence’s room, saw her two large suitcases placed in the center, and politely said, ”If you feel in danger, we can assist you in relocating from this area.”
