Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 838: Chapter 421: Singing With You

Evan Stetford tried to call Lawrence Winters, but couldn’t get through.

He wanted to ask Edward Foster if Lawrence Winters had changed his phone number.

But he felt that asking this would make him look cheap.

He and Edward Foster were the same in front of Lawrence Winters, and he didn’t want to give Edward the chance to mock him, nor did he want Edward to feel superior to him.

So after thinking for a while, he responded indifferently: Why ask? Do you want me to broadcast our meeting?

Edward Foster was still lying in bed, not wanting to get up at this time.

Seeing Evan’s reply, he was instantly awakened by anger, threw the phone to the ground, and headed to the bathroom to freshen up.

After sending the message, Evan Stetford put away his phone and asked his assistant, ”Is Mr. Gilbert meeting here?”

”Yes, Mr. Stetford. Mr. Gilbert mentioned something good and asked you to come over, but he didn’t say what it was,” the assistant said cautiously.

That Mr. Gilbert was impressive, always speaking cryptically and letting others ’interpret’.

As just a minor assistant, he couldn’t say anything, nor could he inquire.

Evan rubbed his brow, catching a glimpse of a short-haired woman’s silhouette, slightly stunned.

The silhouette seemingly resembled Lawrence Winters.

But from her walking posture and clothing taste, Evan knew he was overthinking.

Moreover, Lawrence Winters had long, wavy hair draped over her shoulders, while this woman’s hair was excessively short.

Yet, as the woman turned a corner, he faintly heard the end of an enchanting song.

”... parting and leaving, the grief touched my soul.

It was all you, making my memories linger.

In which year or month, can this night be the same?

Amid the lingering gaze, let our eyes convey our positions.

...

Even if future countless stars, shine brighter than tonight’s moon.

None will match this night’s beauty, nor make me appreciate more.

Because you sing with me tonight.”

Evan couldn’t help but hum along.

His mood inexplicably lifted; he smiled and shut the car window, ”Let’s go then.”

The Rolls-Royce Phantom started silently, heading towards the ”Gilbert Family Cuisine” restaurant.

...

Lawrence Winters hummed ”Thousands of Songs” with her headphones on, walking briskly past the corner, finding a supermarket nearby. She went in to buy a few bottles of water and snacks to take back to her small inn.

Passing by Big D and Sally’s door, she heard Sally complaining: ”Big D, if you continue like this, sooner or later you’ll be chopped to death by those scumbags!”

”Pah! Which of those punks can take on me, Big D?! I could take a knife and fight from Eleventh Street to Fiftieth Street!”

”Yeah, yeah! Big D, you’re the greatest, but if you’re so strong, then who injured your arm? Next time, it might not be your arm but somewhere else!”

Sally’s ridicule and Big D’s wailing howl could be heard from inside.

Lawrence knew Big D was back, and hurried back to her room.

She took out her room card to unlock her door, quickly locking it after entering, then turned on the lights.

Calming herself, she checked herself and found a few drops of blood on the hem of her skirt.

Fortunately, her skirt was in an old-fashioned style with a dark blue color; if not looked at closely, nobody would notice.

However, since the skirt was stained with blood, she needed to soak it and wash it immediately, or it would leave marks.

She went to the small bathroom to change clothes, then scrubbed the stained area with her hands.

After much effort, she finally removed the bloodstains and hung it in the bathroom.

Because of the time difference, it was morning in her home country, and she couldn’t sleep at all.

She decided to put all her dirty clothes into the laundry basket and go out to find a laundry place.

Hotels abroad generally have in-house laundromats, requiring money to exchange for laundry tokens to use the machines.

Lawrence got ten laundry tokens from Sister Tian on the first floor and went to the laundry room to wash clothes.

...

Evan Stetford arrived at the entrance of ”Gilbert Family Cuisine” restaurant by car.

His assistant first made a call to Mr. Gilbert.

Mr. Gilbert was a bit awkward but hurriedly came out, nodding and bowing at the Rolls-Royce Phantom’s door: ”Mr. Stetford, you’re here.”

Evan had no intention of getting out, sitting leisurely in the car with a smile: ”Mr. Gilbert mentioned good news but didn’t make it clear, leaving me anxious. Can you explain now?”

Mr. Gilbert became even more embarrassed, bowing lower.
