Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 806: Chapter 410: Need to Get Well Soon

Soon the doctor and nurses arrived to give the elderly Daoist who had regained consciousness a thorough examination.

”Very good, the elderly gentleman has pulled through. The rest just requires resting for a full recovery. Since he’s getting on in years, injuries to the bones won’t heal quickly, unlike those of a young person. It’s best to find a place with beautiful scenery and fresh air for him to recuperate.”

After the doctor finished the examination, he announced that they could be discharged from the hospital.

Lawrence Winters took the opportunity to say, ”Dad, Mom, why don’t you accompany Grandmaster back to his mountain temple for some rest? It’s better than in the city — the air is fresh, and the food is unpolluted. Plus, with the blessing of the Three Pure Ones’ shrine, what Grandmaster needs most now is to recuperate quickly!”

Gabrielle Winters looked at Nick Zeller and spoke softly, ”Nick, what do you think? I’ve never been to your master’s temple...”

The elderly Daoist’s temple is quite secluded; there’s no internet on the mountain.

The usual pastimes are watching the mountains and waters, fishing, and raising chickens, with travel on foot and communication by shouting.

Nick Zeller scratched his head and chuckled, ”My master’s courtyard on the mountain is large enough to live comfortably, but living without internet is really tough. I’ll try contacting the local departments to at least build a base station nearby. What do you think, Master?”

The elderly Daoist wanted to glare at him, but he was too weak to even make such a simple gesture.

Nick Zeller continued to jabber, ”If you don’t speak, I’ll take it as your silent consent! If Lawrence isn’t coming, Gabrielle and I won’t be at ease; we have to keep in touch with him...”

Upon hearing about Lawrence, the elderly Daoist was not as angry. He glanced at Lawrence but couldn’t discern anything, as he was too tired.

It seemed that he really needed to get better soon.

With a slight nod, the elderly Daoist rasped, ”...Do as you wish.”

With the elderly Daoist’s permission, Nick Zeller immediately sprang into action.

While handling the discharge procedures for the elderly Daoist, he contacted the relevant local departments to set up a base station near the Daoist’s mountain residence.

After being discharged, the elderly Daoist returned to his apartment to rest for a few days.

Kenneth Osborne heard about it and came to see him, bringing various health supplements.

After resting for a few days, the elderly Daoist spoke more fluently but still couldn’t move around and had to stay in bed, requiring Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters to take care of him around the clock.

Nick Zeller then told Kenneth Osborne about his plans to return to the mountain with Gabrielle Winters and the elderly Daoist to help him recuperate.

”Kenneth, once Gabrielle’s mom and I leave, it’ll just be you and Lawrence at home, so please take good care of her. It’s not easy for her to support the law office on her own,” Nick said, patting Kenneth on the shoulder with feeling.

Kenneth Osborne thought that it might be better not to keep the office open since no one was home, leaving even less time to manage it.

He smiled and said, ”I know, she’s busy with work now; the office matters can be put on hold for a while.”

”Oh, that’s unnecessary. She quit her job to focus wholeheartedly on managing our family business! Hahaha!” Nick Zeller laughed heartily.

Kenneth Osborne: ”!!!”

He couldn’t help but be stunned, ”Quit her job?! When did this happen? How come I didn’t know?”

Nick Zeller’s laughter came to an abrupt halt.

Now, this was awkward.

How was he supposed to know that, after the past few days, Lawrence Winters hadn’t yet mentioned her resignation to Kenneth Osborne?!

Nick Zeller blinked and said, ”Uh? Maybe Lawrence has been too busy lately and forgot to tell you... Hehe... I have something to do over there, I’ll be going first!”

He had lost weight and moved more swiftly than before.

With agile movements, he slipped away while mentally praising himself for being quick-witted...

Kenneth Osborne returned to Lawrence Winters’ room, sitting quietly on the sofa against the wall, waiting for her.

Lawrence continued to go out every morning, returning home in the afternoon after work.

He had thought she went to work!

Turns out, she wasn’t going to the job he thought!

Since the elderly Daoist had been discharged and returned home, Lawrence had been out looking for a workplace for the family Great Heavenly Master’s office, wanting a formal company location.

Back home, they had a proper office location.

After coming to the Capital City, with the high rent here, they had been working from home.

Now Lawrence wanted to make a move and naturally needed to set things up right.

She looked at properties with real estate agents for several days, finally settling on a location in the Fourth Ring’s high-tech industrial area, the same commercial district where Kenneth Osborne’s company was located.

With many high-rises, numerous hotels, shopping malls, and restaurants, along with a green park, the area’s facilities were pretty comprehensive.

It wasn’t far from their home and particularly close to Kenneth Osborne!
