Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 814: Chapter 413: The Shelf Life of Love (First Update)

Lawrence Winters felt a surge of anger that she couldn’t vent, so she grabbed a small teacup from the dark wooden high table at the entrance of the cubicle and fiercely threw it into the pitch-black interior!

A crisp crash!

The man standing in the shadows held back but still didn’t come out.

Lawrence Winters held her phone, completely unaware that someone else was standing inside the cubicle.

She hadn’t been so unguarded before, but her mind was clouded by anger now, dulling her senses.

She took a deep breath and asked Kenneth Osborne on the other end of the phone once more, ”Really? It’s really three people? Who are they?”

Kenneth Osborne was about to say Ruby Sheldon’s name but suddenly remembered Lawrence Winters was not on good terms with Ruby Sheldon.

If she knew he was now sitting in the oxygen bar’s private room with Ruby Sheldon, even with others present, she’d be even angrier.

And she was already furious.

Kenneth Osborne cautiously didn’t want to complicate matters, so he calmly said, ”Just some business friends. There’s one you know, Marilyn, the private secretary of Mrs. Foster, who helped us with a bid.”

”And she brought two friends, both business big shots, to see if they could help.”

Lawrence Winters felt not only angry but also sad.

At this point, he was still lying to her...

Even if there were three people, why not mention Ruby Sheldon is also there?

Or does she count as a business big shot?

If Ruby Sheldon is considered a business big shot, then I could be considered a giant in the Celestial Master Realm!

Doing business with an idiot, even helping him fight a lawsuit, what help could she provide?

Count on her to cry, throw fits, and be manipulative?!

Lawrence Winter’s heart completely cooled.

He’s displeased with her, and she’s displeased with him!

Is the halo of childhood friends blinding them?

Why didn’t these issues arise before?

Lawrence Winters couldn’t figure it out for the moment, her mind a chaotic mess.

She leaned against the cubicle door, lips tightly pressed, one hand resting on the dark wooden high table, soothing her anger by rubbing another teacup, and then sneered lightly, ”Oh? So does that mean you won’t be back for a while?”

Kenneth Osborne hesitated.

Marilyn from the Foster Consortium especially brought him a book, also introduced Nathan Sheldon, vice president of Sheldon Investment, it’s honestly a really good opportunity.

As a young man with no foundation, relying solely on himself to climb up, he knows the importance of this opportunity.

However, in his heart, Lawrence Winters is more important than all of these combined.

Realizing this, he closed his eyes and tenderly said, ”No, I’ll be back immediately. Don’t leave, just wait at home for me. Okay?”

Lawrence Winters felt Kenneth Osborne’s moment of hesitation.

He didn’t immediately agree to come back, nor did he immediately tell her the truth.

Turns out, in his eyes, she had already become a secondary option.

Lawrence Winters was deeply hurt, the dam in her heart growing heavier and harder, unable to face Kenneth Osborne.

She feared seeing him now, would drive her to kill him.

She pressed her lips, taking two deep breaths, before speaking haltingly, ”There’s no need... Your matters are important, don’t come back, Marilyn is very capable, if she’s helping you, you should learn from her... I’ll head back home first.”

With that, she hung up the phone, turned off her mobile, then threw the teacup she had been rubbing towards the cubicle again.

Crash!

A loud, deep male voice laughed from the darkness, ”...This is too much; once and now twice?”

A man, dressed in a well-tailored bespoke suit, with his hands in his pockets, slowly walked out from the darkness of the cubicle.

It was Nathan Sheldon, whom Lawrence Winters had met once at the Wells Residence Garden at the Sheldon Family!

She stared in surprise, ”...You were inside all along?! Mr. Sheldon, how can you eavesdrop on someone else’s phone call?!”

”I wasn’t eavesdropping, I was here first, you came later. You decide to make the call in front of me, it’s up to you. But you can’t repeatedly throw things at me. Tsk tsk, you look delicate and fragile, but you’re pretty ruthless with your hands.”

Inside the room, those two shattered teacups were truly ”shattered,” the fragments scattered like snowflakes.

”I only threw two small teacups, I’ll compensate when I leave.” Lawrence Winters forced herself to remain calm.

Nathan Sheldon brushed off his suit, smiling slightly, ”Compensate? What about my suit then?”
