Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 842: Chapter 422: Identifying Women by Their Fragrance (First Update)_2

Lawrence Winters naturally placed his portable folding table and chair between the two people.

After setting up the table and chair, he took out the Five Emperors Coins to calculate the position of the God of Wealth for the day, and then placed the electric incense burner with batteries on the table, inserting three sticks of Heavenly Treasure Incense inside.

These three incense sticks are for welcoming the God of Wealth.

At this time, using Heavenly Treasure Incense to welcome the God of Wealth targets specifically the wealth-related aspect.

Earning money from fortune telling is indeed considered this kind of wealth.

As Lawrence lit the incense, he couldn’t help but recall what Kenneth Osborne had said.

In Kenneth’s view, this skill of his is considered ”unscrupulous and unconventional.”

He wasn’t entirely wrong. In ancient times, fortune telling and face reading were indeed seen as pursuing unconventional paths.

But Feng Shui is not like that; Feng Shui Masters have always been revered figures throughout the dynasties.

The Grand Geomancers could even enter the royal courts, closely associating with emperors and ministers.

Even in modern times, a good Feng Shui Master is rare and hard to find.

Lawrence hummed lightly, thinking that in future, if Kenneth wanted a Feng Shui reading, he’d definitely not give him a discount!

Seated in the folding chair, he fixed his gaze at the incense burner as the three incense sticks burned down to one-tenth, then shifted his view to the empty space before him.

The fortune-telling stalls next to him were crowded, with people either watching the spectacle or waiting for the ”masters” to help solve their troubles.

Lawrence wasn’t in a hurry, smiling broadly as he looked at the fortune-telling stalls on both sides, listening intently to how the two ”masters” spun their yarns.

After listening for a while, he realized the two weren’t entirely fabricating; they did have some skill.

At least two-thirds of the people there found their words relevant.

A bit stronger than his mentor, Nick Zeller’s ”fifty percent” accuracy rate.

Lawrence was so engrossed he nearly forgot he was also there to ”do business.”

At this point, he regretted not having brought some snacks to munch on while listening.

As he lamented, he suddenly heard someone call him with slight confusion, ”...Little Sis? How come you’re here? You really came to do fortune telling?!”

Looking up, Lawrence saw that it was Sally, whom he had met at the small motel.

Sally wasn’t alone; there were two women with her.

They should be her friends, around her age; one was quite pretty with a good figure, but had fierce eyebrows—a bit unfortunate.

The other was less attractive but had the best figure among the three, observing with an air of arrogance, hardly looking directly at him.

Lawrence nodded with a smile, ”Sister Sally, are you just off work?”

Sally’s makeup had already faded considerably, revealing her slightly pale skin.

Walking over, she appeared both nervous and anxious, speaking in a hushed tone, ”Little Sis, I’m not trying to frighten you... really...”

”It’s fine, no worries.” Lawrence winked at her, interrupting, ”Since you’re here, I haven’t started today; how about I give Sister Sally a complimentary reading?”

Sally hesitated, awkwardly saying, ”...Little Sis, I don’t do readings.”

”Alright, then do the two lovely sisters by your side want a reading? If it’s not effective, there’s no charge.” Lawrence smiled even more cordially.

To Sally’s friends, she certainly didn’t intend to offer it free.

The woman to Sally’s left, the prettier one with a good figure, curiously looked at his sign and seemed tempted, ”Really, no charge if it’s not effective?”

”Of course.” Lawrence waved his hand, ”And Miss, your fortune is at the doorstep, only one step away from prosperity and wealth! Meeting is fate; since we’ve encountered each other, it means you just need me as the catalyst! Come, Miss, get a reading, you won’t lose out!”

Sally didn’t want to offend the Grant Branch, but her friends were different; she herself might refrain, yet wouldn’t hinder her friends.

Seeing Little Sis seemed short on money, she couldn’t very well block this money-making opportunity for someone else.

So she whispered to the side, ”Jiji, you’ve been indecisive for a while, right?”

The pretty sister turned out to be named Jiji, and Lawrence noted it down mentally.

Jiji had indeed hesitated for a long time, as Lawrence said, she was just one step away.

Yet this step was difficult to make.

She didn’t know which choice was right.

She had consulted several fortune tellers already, each offering contrasting advice.

Thus, she was further confused.

Although this little girl didn’t seem reliable, it was free if not effective; if he didn’t like what she said, she’d simply not pay.

Jiji looked at Lawrence and sat down on the small folding chair in front of him, habitually crossing her legs, saying, ”Can you, Little Sis, really do fortune telling? Then tell me first, what do I want a reading for?”

Lawrence maintained a professional smile, ”It’s quite clear, Miss Jiji is troubled by an issue in her romantic life.”

He immediately identified Jiji’s problem as a marital issue.

Jiji was taken aback, uncrossing her legs and sitting upright, cautiously asking, ”...What else? Why am I troubled?”

”Well, Miss Jiji wants to get married and has two options: One guy treats you well, his family likes you, but he comes from an average background and looks average too; after marriage, you want to go to university, but he can’t afford to sponsor you.”

”The other guy is very handsome, but he’s lost both parents, works in unscrupulous areas but can earn money; he can support you through university, yet he seems distant, not as if he intends to marry you.”

Lawrence spoke swiftly and clearly, as if he once eavesdropped on family gossip under Jiji’s bed.

Jiji’s eyes widened, ”...How did you know?! Did Sally tell you?!”

She turned to glower at Sally.

Sally quickly raised her hand, equally surprised, saying, ”This Little Sis just came from the mainland yesterday; I’ve known her for less than twenty-four hours, spoken for less than five minutes, how could I have told her about you?!”

Jiji was skeptical, ”Really?”

But this girl spoke it so damn accurately!

So accurately it scared her!

If Sally hadn’t said it...

Then is this genuinely someone with talent?!

Thanks to the overseas prominence of the Grant Branch, people here embrace esoteric concepts easily, idealism and mysticism thrive.

Jiji was both surprised and delighted, immediately stating, ”Little Sis, go on! If you calculate accurately and help me make a decision, I’ll give you a big lucky packet!”

Lawrence knew that ”packet” meant a red envelope, smiling and nodding, ”Then it’s multiplied!”
