Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 544: Chapter 293: Our Family’s Finances Are Yours to Manage

Lawrence Winters watched with a twitch at the corner of his mouth.

She went back to her room, sat on the edge of the bed, and couldn’t help but reply to both of them at the same time: ...I can see everything, you know...

Edward Foster: ”...”

Damn, I was just so mad I forgot about that.

To save face, he had to pretend it was a joke and replied to Lawrence: I know, right? Isn’t it hilarious! Laughing with tears.jpg.

Lawrence also laughed it off.

Kenneth Osborne started sending Lawrence private messages.

[Kenneth]: Nora, has your fever subsided?

[Kenneth]: Nora, does the wound on your arm need to be checked at a big hospital again?

[Kenneth]: Don’t be so impulsive next time. If you want to go out clubbing, I’m always up for it. Work is not more important than you. Shy smile.jpg.

Lawrence wanted Kenneth to worry a bit more, so she didn’t reply to him immediately.

Until she saw Kenneth say that work isn’t more important than her, she felt slightly less annoyed.

She curled her lips and replied: No way, no way, Mr. Xiao is so busy, you can’t waste time on someone as unimportant as me.

These past few days, Kenneth has been anxious, unsure if what he’s doing is right, but he really doesn’t want to see Lawrence continuing on this ”bold” path.

This is definitely not a good thing.

Lawrence’s carefree attitude was even more extreme than he anticipated. He was already mentally prepared, but seeing that ”small face really photogenic” post, it refreshed his understanding of his place in her heart.

He felt that his impact from moving out of the Winters Family didn’t affect Lawrence as much as her losing weight did.

Fortunately, after observing these days, Edward Foster is temporarily no threat; Lawrence hasn’t genuinely developed feelings for him.

Thinking about the effort he put in for Lawrence to accept him, Edward wanting to rise to the top? — Well, he might have to wait until the next life.

Kenneth saw Lawrence’s somewhat petulant reply and cheerfully transferred some money to her: two hundred thousand.

Lawrence was startled by the amount.

This is the daily transfer limit on WeChat!

She quickly replied: What are you doing? Trying to bribe me with sugar-coated artillery shells? — It’s useless!

As she was about to transfer the money back, Kenneth replied with a sentence: This is my salary, keep it.

Lawrence: ”!!!”

”Why should I keep your salary?” Lawrence shook her head instinctively and quickly transferred it back to him.

Kenneth: ”...”

He sent a voice message with a sigh: You’re my fiancée, so you should manage the money for our family in the future. Who else would I give my salary to?

Lawrence understood, made a low ”ah” sound, and fell backward onto the bed.

The phone almost hit her face, but she quickly pulled the blanket over her head to suppress her laughter.

After a while, she heard her phone ringing and sat up from under the covers.

The phone showed that it was a call from Kenneth.

Lawrence blushed, but she still answered the call with a soft ”hmm”.

Kenneth was so stirred by her voice that his ears tingled. After a moment, he asked, ”What happened to you just now? Why did you suddenly go quiet?”

Lawrence was embarrassed to say she had been rolling on the bed, so she mumbled, ”You suddenly saying that I should manage your money was too much of a shock, so I needed a moment to calm down.”

”What’s the big deal?” Kenneth said indifferently. ”My dad’s money has always been managed by my mom, and in your family...”

He suddenly remembered that Lawrence didn’t have a dad.

Oh no, did he say the wrong thing?

Kenneth was so anxious that he started to sweat.

Usually, he’s quite quick-witted, but at this moment, his mind was completely blank, unable to think of how to make up for it.

Fortunately, Lawrence didn’t have any inferiority or sensitivity typical of someone from a single-parent family.

She said cheerfully, ”Really? So your dad’s money is all managed by your mom? That’s a nice tradition you should keep up. In my family, I don’t know if my uncle’s money is managed by my mom, but I’ll ask when I get a chance.”

Kenneth: ”...”

Well, Lawrence had absolutely no expectations for paternal love, nor any emotional gap.

Kenneth thought that was good but also not so good.

Thinking about it gave him a headache, but since Lawrence was still recovering, he decided not to bring it up for now.

Kenneth laughed and said, ”Your family situation is different from mine; it can’t be compared. But for most ordinary people, the wife usually manages the money. However, in families like the Spencer Family, their wives can only get an allowance from their husbands every month, just like receiving a salary.”
