Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 531: Chapter 286: I Would Rather You Lied to Me

Edward Foster listened and, instead of blaming her, he said indignantly, ”Good job with the punch! Those scumbags! Their methods are so skilled, and they have an organized team; this definitely isn’t their first time doing this.”

”If they hadn’t already been arrested, I would’ve taken people to beat them up too!”

”Damn it! Daring to hit my people! They must be tired of living!”

Lawrence Winters twitched the corner of his mouth, ”Mr. Foster, aren’t you exaggerating a bit? Besides, how am I your person?”

”You’re my company’s person. I’m the company boss, so how are you not mine?” Edward Foster said confidently, ”In my company, if anyone gets bullied, I’ll stand up for them! Otherwise, how could I be a boss?”

Edward Foster had been in the entertainment industry for five or six years and was very familiar with the rules of this circle.

In this circle, they not only follow the law but also value rules, also known as ”loyalty.”

People with loyalty gain everyone’s respect, and it makes things much easier.

Edward Foster already had that knightly ”loyalty.”

Compared to just now, when her family all blamed her, Edward Foster’s unconditional support made Lawrence Winters feel very warm inside, thinking if Kenneth Osborne had reacted like Edward Foster, how could she possibly feel so sad?

Kenneth Osborne claimed to love her, yet he didn’t understand her as well as Edward Foster.

Although she thought this way, she didn’t have any special feelings for Edward Foster; she was just glad her boss was really nice and willing to stand up for his subordinates.

Edward Foster kept talking incessantly beside Lawrence Winters, trying to distract her attention.

The cut on her arm was no small injury, luckily he brought the best doctor over for a thorough cleaning, surely it would heal perfectly.

The doctor also said, ”This cut is really sharp, the wound edges are neat, and it’s healing well. But it’s bleeding again, we need to clean it up. How often did your previous doctor tell you to come back for a check-up?”

”I think it was every three days,” Lawrence Winters thought, ”If there were no issues they said I didn’t need to go.”

”In the future, come to me once a week for a check-up.” The doctor handed his business card to Lawrence Winters, ”This has my clinic’s address. You don’t need an appointment, just say Mr. Foster sent you, and they’ll let you in.”

”That’s great, thank you so much!” Lawrence Winters quickly nodded in gratitude, thanking Edward Foster again, ”Thank you, Mr. Foster; otherwise, I wouldn’t have known my arm wound was bleeding again.”

Edward Foster leaned back on the sofa, draping his arms comfortably over the backrest, casually saying, ”Hearing your wound is that serious, it’s always better to be more cautious.”

Then he carelessly asked, ”You were fine when you left work yesterday, did this happen last night? Did you go out alone?”

Lawrence Winters nodded, ”Yeah, after work, I had dinner, and my friend called me; I saw she was drunk and alone, worried something might happen, so I went to find her.”

”You went alone? Didn’t your fiancé go with you?” Edward Foster asked, feigning curiosity.

Lawrence Winters felt a bit guilty, awkwardly laughing, ”He was busy, working late last night, I didn’t want to disturb him.”

”I see.” Edward Foster scratched his own chin with one hand, smiling, ”Next time you go to a bar, call me to go with you. You know how lazy I am, never working overtime, but I like clubbing, it’s safer than going alone.”

”I’m familiar with the four major bars and five big clubs in Capital City.”

Lawrence Winters laughed and joked, ”Mr. Foster, do you often go to these places?”

”For business, how could I not?” Edward Foster chuckled, catching a glimpse of a tall figure standing at the lounge door, deliberately saying, ”For example, your fiancé, he’s also a small company boss, he has to hit these places for business deals. He says he’s working late, could be outdrinking someone in some bar.”

Lawrence Winters reflexively argued, ”No way. He’s not like you, not the same type. He wouldn’t go to those places for business.”

”Hahahaha... Lawrence, you’re also in the entertainment industry, how can you be so naive?” Edward Foster looked at her amusingly, leaning slightly toward her, lowering his voice, ”...But you, like this, are very charming. Your fiancé should watch you all the time so no one else steals you away...”

Lawrence Winters smiled wryly, ”He trusts me a lot, why worry about someone stealing me away? Besides, I’m not a plant, why wait for someone to dig me up? Anyone who tries to hit me with a spade, I’ll just kick them down.”

Edward Foster instinctively stepped back a bit, seemingly worried Lawrence Winters might really kick him.

The doctor quickly put a new-style splint on Lawrence Winters, which was really inconspicuous and couldn’t be seen with long sleeves on.

And since the cut was on the forearm, as long as she didn’t exert herself, it didn’t hinder movement.

Lawrence Winters was amazed and repeatedly said, ”Oh, I should’ve called Mr. Foster last night. Even if I got slashed, no one would notice with this...”

Edward Foster was so delighted by this that he burst into laughter.

The doctor packed up his medical kit and left with Edward Foster.

Lawrence Winters saw them to the elevator and watched the doors close before turning back.

Passing by the living room, she saw Kenneth Osborne coming out of his room from afar, dragging a suitcase, backpacking a laptop, and carrying a briefcase, looking like he was about to go on a long trip.

Lawrence Winters instinctively asked, ”...Are you going on a business trip?”

Kenneth Osborne walked towards her with a blank expression.

As he passed by her, he stopped, looked forward, and said blandly, ”Not a business trip, I’m planning on moving out.”
