Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 521: Chapter 281: Radiant as the Rosy Clouds (Second Update)

Coincidentally, Blake Leaf took a two-week vacation, saying he had something to deal with back home, and still hasn’t returned.

Kenneth Osborne was stunned for quite a while before calling Blake Leaf.

Blake Leaf answered his call after a moment, sounding full of triumphant joy, ”Mr. Osborne? What’s up? I’m still on vacation.”

Kenneth Osborne didn’t have time for small talk and directly asked, ”Blake Leaf, are you planning to marry into the Spencer Family and marry Summer Spencer?”

Blake Leaf: ”...”

He was somewhat surprised and instinctively denied, ”No such thing, if I’m getting married, why would I marry into their family? But I am indeed dating Summer.”

Kenneth Osborne looked down at the invitation again and confirmed the sender on the envelope. He then sent a WeChat message to Brooke Osborne asking if it was true.

Brooke Osborne quickly replied: Yes, they’re already booking a venue for the wedding. I heard they’ve registered at the Civil Affairs Bureau; indeed, he is marrying into the family, and they’ve signed a prenuptial agreement.

Naturally, Kenneth Osborne trusted Brooke Osborne’s words more.

He smiled faintly and said to Blake Leaf, ”But I’ve already received a wedding invitation from Mr. Spencer, saying you’re marrying into the family. Is Mr. Spencer lying? Or is someone impersonating him to send me false news?”

Blake Leaf broke out in a cold sweat.

He was someone who cared about appearance. Although he agreed to marry into Summer Spencer’s family, he didn’t want to invite any of his previous relatives or friends and had already agreed with Summer not to invite them. So what was going on?!

Under Kenneth Osborne’s pressing questions, he couldn’t lie any further, and in a panic, he said, ”I have something to do, can’t talk on the phone. I’ll call you back once I’m done!”

Then he immediately hung up.

Kenneth Osborne stared at his phone in astonishment, unable to believe Blake Leaf’s actions.

But on second thought, it was indeed something Blake Leaf could do.

Always daring to act but never to admit, always unable to distinguish between priorities.

Back then, to give Lawrence Winters face, he helped Blake Leaf out. Now it seemed that Blake Leaf had a better backing and didn’t need his support anymore.

Kenneth Osborne thought for a moment and immediately instructed the company’s HR manager, saying, ”Blake Leaf has violated the company’s principles of integrity and has been fired. Handle his termination procedures and have finance settle his salary.”

Then he immediately revoked Blake Leaf’s company account permissions, changing the passwords for the apps and company’s official blog he managed.

Blake Leaf was still reeling when he received a text from AI Vision Promise’s HR manager, notifying him that due to violating company regulations, his contract was terminated.

This essentially meant he was fired.

Blake Leaf was furious.

He immediately felt that Kenneth Osborne was jealous and couldn’t stand to see him doing well. Now that he had the backing of the Spencer Group, why should he fear Kenneth Osborne?

Yet, he then remembered that Kenneth Osborne’s sister, Brooke Osborne, was the current wife of Cameron Spencer, meaning he’d have to call her ”Mom,” and he immediately lost his resolve.

He was both angry and resentful but had nowhere to vent, so frustrated it nearly made him spit blood.

Spring Spencer also got the news that Summer Spencer was marrying Blake Leaf, which her mother, Ava Harlow, called to inform her about.

”Spring, that guy named Blake Leaf, wasn’t he with you? How come he’s now marrying Summer Spencer? And even marrying into her family?” Ava Harlow asked curiously, ”I’m not saying good things about him, and I don’t think highly of him either; I never commented when you were with him.”

Spring Spencer chuckled bitterly, ”Mom, can’t you save me some face?”

”Oh, not being with him is a good thing,” Ava Harlow laughed, ”I’m just surprised; how did he get together with Summer Spencer?”

Spring Spencer said coolly, ”Summer has had so many failed romances abroad and still hasn’t learned. She wants to grab anything I have.”

”Haha, Spring, let me tell you, when it comes to relationships, if you fail once, it’s just bad luck with people. Fail twice, and it’s just bad luck. Fail three, four, five times, and you need to reflect on whether it’s your own issue,” Ava Harlow said earnestly. ”Summer Spencer fancying Blake Leaf? She deserves it. But in your whole life, I’ve never seen you fall for someone. Finally, there was Blake Leaf, and even though I didn’t like him, I never said anything.”

”Because I know you’re not someone who easily falls for others. A person like that is both good and bad. Sometimes I even wish you were like that ditzy daughter of the third child, dating a few more times. Even if you failed, it would be better than now.”

Spring Spencer smiled, running her fingers through her hair, ”How do you know I’ve never been moved? I’m just lazy and passive, not willing to take action.”
