Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 542: Chapter 292: This Terrifying Possessiveness

Edward Foster originally thought he looked terrible at this moment, but secretly glanced at Lawrence Winters and saw her smiling, her eyes seemed to sparkle at his appearance. He couldn’t help but feel energized, thinking that Lawrence Winters wasn’t the type of superficial woman who judged people by their looks.

Even if he wasn’t good looking, she liked him for him, and didn’t like him for him.

Moreover, he was actually very good looking, so that was just a bonus.

Edward Foster was delighted, finding Lawrence Winters more and more pleasing to the eye.

After their wounds were treated, they said goodbye to each other at the doctor’s.

Lawrence Winters was seated in Nick Zeller’s Grand Cherokee, similar to Edward Foster’s car, both parked in the large courtyard in front of the clinic.

As they walked out of the clinic, Lawrence Winters waved and said goodbye to Edward Foster, then got into Nick Zeller’s car.

Edward Foster also got into his own car and, while turning back to bid farewell to Lawrence Winters, he suddenly noticed a familiar man in a taxi parked across the street staring at them.

It was Kenneth Osborne.

He could see Kenneth Osborne because the taxi’s windows were transparent, and Kenneth Osborne was sitting close to the window, allowing Edward Foster to see clearly the person inside.

But Lawrence Winters wouldn’t be able to see if she didn’t turn her head.

Edward Foster glanced briefly, then quickly retracted his gaze, making a few exaggerated gestures and mouthing words to Lawrence Winters, teasing her until she laughed heartily, clearly enjoying herself, with no reason to randomly turn and look across the street.

Nick Zeller’s attention was also on Edward Foster, just watching him playfully clown around in the car, and Lawrence Winters seemed quite amused.

These young folks, truly unpredictable in their thoughts.

Back at home, Lawrence Winters was a bit tired and mentioned it to Gabrielle Winters and Nick Zeller before going to her room to sleep.

She slept until evening, by which time it was dark outside.

Someone had closed the curtains in the bedroom, making it so dark that she almost couldn’t tell what time it was.

Lawrence Winters rubbed her eyes, reached out to turn on the lamp on the bedside table, and slowly sat up.

The wound on her arm seemed to have improved a lot; she felt she wasn’t running a fever anymore, just sweating profusely, so she wanted to take a shower.

She sat for a while and then felt hungry.

From coming back in the morning till now...

She checked her phone; it was already past six in the evening.

She hadn’t eaten anything all day.

Lawrence Winters decided to have dinner before taking a shower.

She changed clothes using only one hand and finally emerged from her bedroom.

The living room was silent, empty, but there was the sound of voices in the dining room.

Lawrence Winters knew her family must be having dinner in the dining room.

She woke up just in time.

Lawrence Winters smiled and walked over.

On the dining table were five or six dishes, even more lavish than on weekends, with a pot of soup, its honey-colored broth mouth-watering.

Lawrence Winters immediately sat beside the pot of soup, smiling, ”Grandfather Master, you made soup for me again? What kind of soup is this?”

Nick Zeller sneered, ”This is ejiao date stew chicken, specifically to replenish qi and blood, but it wasn’t made by your Grandfather Master.”

Before he finished speaking, Lawrence Winters had already scooped a spoonful of soup and drank it.

”How could it not be Grandfather Master who made it?!” Lawrence Winters widened her eyes, ”The taste of this soup is simply amazing, with sweetness and tender chicken flavor, and it’s definitely not mass-farmed chicken but free-range mountain chicken, perfectly salty without making one thirsty, and even leaves a sweet aftertaste. It’s not just delicious but nourishing too; no one but Grandfather Master could reproduce this taste! You and Mom couldn’t make this taste!”

The old Daoist laughed heartily, giving Lawrence Winters a thumbs-up, ”Not bad, my little apprentice! Such a keen tongue! — To be honest, the recipe is indeed mine, but it wasn’t me who made it.”

”I’ve just tried it too, it’s at least ninety percent like mine!”

Considering the old Daoist’s age, being ninety percent like him was really extraordinary.

Lawrence Winters looked at Nick Zeller, then at the old Daoist, finally resting her gaze on her mother Gabrielle Winters.

She tentatively asked, ”...Mom, have your cooking skills improved recently?”

Nick Zeller held back his laughter so hard he was about to burst.

Gabrielle Winters didn’t intend to tease her, just smiled, saying, ”I’m not that good to reach ninety percent like your Grandfather Master. That’s something that requires talent.”

She lowered her eyes to her rice bowl, speaking softly, ”It was Kenneth who brought it over. He sat for a while, saw you hadn’t woken up, and then left.”

Lawrence Winters froze, ”...Who? Kenneth? When did he come?”
