Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 522: Chapter 281: Radiant as the Rosy Clouds (Part 2)

The mother and daughter talked for a while before Ava Harlow relaxed and hung up the phone.

...

During dinner that evening, Lawrence Winters also heard from Kenneth Osborne that Blake Leaf was going to marry Summer Spencer, and he would be joining the Spencer Family.

She was so shocked her mouth was agape, ”Really? How could this happen?! I always thought he liked Sister Three Billion!”

”Maybe he did. But Blake Leaf’s kind of affection is the cheapest,” Kenneth Osborne analyzed calmly, ”What he truly desires from childhood has never been romantic love between a man and a woman.”

”But Sister Three Billion likes him!” Lawrence Winters put down her chopsticks and sighed, ”I need to comfort her, I wonder if she knows.”

”She should be mentally prepared,” Kenneth Osborne gave Lawrence Winters a piece of tender stewed pork and a piece of dried bamboo soaked with meat juices, ”Let’s not mention it for now.”

After finishing the meat, Lawrence Winters still shook her head, ”No, I must check on her, lest she gets stuck in a rut.”

She picked up her phone and sent a WeChat message to Sister Three Billion.

[Lawrence]: Sister Three Billion, how have you been? You mentioned wanting to have hotpot together last time, when are you free?

Sister Three Billion didn’t reply for a long time, Lawrence Winters waited for a while and then let it go.

At this point, calling directly didn’t seem appropriate either.

However, around ten in the evening, after she had bathed and returned to her bedroom to sleep, Sister Three Billion called.

”Lawrence, you know, don’t you?” She got straight to the point, her tone a bit off, ”Hehehe... Who am I? I’m Sister Three Billion! Destined to marry into wealth! Why waste time with an unremarkable nobody!”

Lawrence Winters felt a pit in her stomach and immediately asked, ”Sister Three Billion, have you been drinking? Where are you? I’ll come find you.”

”No need, I’m not drunk.” Sister Three Billion moved the phone slightly away, letting Lawrence Winters hear the loud music in the background, drunkenly saying, ”I’m at the bar... the most famous ’Burn’ in the city. Great drinks, great food, with top-tier foreign bartenders. I’m going dancing later... What about you? Sleeping like a good girl at home?”

Lawrence Winters felt restless, she took out her Copper Coin used for quick divination and tossed it on the bed a few times.

The omen wasn’t good.

Sister Three Billion was going to face setbacks tonight.

Lawrence Winters could no longer sit still.

She pretended to be cheerful, ”I’m no good girl! I’m going to drink cocktails! I’m going dancing! Wait for me!”

Sister Three Billion was actually drinking alone. Even though men came to hit on her from time to time, she didn’t want to pay attention to any of them.

Lawrence Winters actively offered to come and accompany her, she declined a few times but eventually agreed.

Because she was too lonely, too depressed, too miserable.

Lawrence Winters opened her wardrobe and quickly picked out an outfit of fitting leather.

A midriff-baring leather jacket, with a cool black military T-shirt underneath.

Tight-fitting leather pants accentuated her long legs, the leather of these pants was particularly elastic, unlike those of inferior quality that felt like torture to wear.

On her feet were black leather Martens boots.

Her hair was tied into a ponytail, with decorative Bluetooth earpieces in her ears that looked like beautiful earrings.

She stuffed her phone into the inner pocket of her leather jacket, picked up her car keys, and quietly sneaked out of the house.

Gabrielle Winters, Nick Zeller, and the old Daoist were already asleep, and Kenneth Osborne was still in his room working on a program, so no one knew that Lawrence Winters went out.

She drove her BMW 3 Series toward ”Burn,” near the Capital City Sports Center.

By this time, Sister Three Billion was already a bit tipsy, her stomach was uncomfortably bloated; she grabbed her LV bag and headed to the bathroom.

As soon as she left, a man quickly dashed over and sprinkled something into her drink, then sat in the seat next to hers.

In the bar, people like that were everywhere, waiting to take advantage of women who’ve had too much to drink.

No one was surprised, and everyone pretended not to see, avoiding getting involved.

However, Ryan Sheldon didn’t have this awareness, and he didn’t have the habit of avoiding trouble.

He had already noticed Sister Three Billion, drinking alone with such misty eyes that he couldn’t look away.

He had attempted a few conversations, but the woman didn’t notice him, and she didn’t even realize that she’d been approached by the same person three times!

Look how drunk she was!

Because he had been watching her, he saw the man put something into her drink.

This was unacceptable!

Ryan Sheldon immediately walked over, grabbing the man by the arm and shouting, ”What did you put in her drink?!”

Startled, the man shook off Ryan Sheldon’s hand, angrily saying, ”None of your business! She’s my wife!”

Ryan Sheldon was taken aback, ”...She really is your wife?”

His heart sank to the bottom.

The woman he had finally taken a liking to belonged to someone else?

Why was his fate so miserable...

Before Ryan Sheldon finished wallowing in self-pity, Sister Three Billion was back with her LV bag, staggering toward them.

She saw two men near her spot and thought she had the wrong place.

Frowning, she looked around to find her original seat.

The man who had drugged her drink quickly grabbed her glass, eagerly saying, ”Honey, you’re back, finish this drink and let’s go home!”

Sister Three Billion blinked at him hazily, ”...Honey? What honey? Aren’t you going to marry someone else?”

The man saw his chance and played along, ”No! I’m not marrying anyone else! You’re the only one I want to marry!”

As he spoke, he wrapped an arm around Sister Three Billion’s shoulders, trying to get her to drink.

Ryan Sheldon stood nearby, baffled, unsure whether to intervene, only hurriedly shouting, ”Don’t drink it! He drugged you!”

Sister Three Billion was genuinely intoxicated and couldn’t control her actions.

She was unable to refuse, but others could step in.

Lawrence Winters arrived at that very moment.

She didn’t see what happened before, but she saw a sleazy-looking guy holding Sister Three Billion, trying to force a drink on her.

And another man beside them yelling, ”He drugged you!”

What else was unclear?

She quickly stepped forward and kicked the man who was forcing the drink.

The thick sole of her Martens boot felt like a brick, and Lawrence Winters’ kick landed squarely on the man’s knee.

The man felt a sharp pain in his left knee, and uncontrollably collapsed forward.

The glass in his hand shattered against the ground, shards flying, liquid spreading, stopping just at Lawrence Winters’ feet.

As he lifted his head, a striking woman in leather stood before him, radiant like a sunset glow.
