Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 536: Chapter 289: Small Face Really Looks Good on Camera (First Update, Please Vote)

Lawrence Winters put the ring on the bedside table, slowly supporting himself against the wall as he headed towards the bathroom.

Standing in front of the mirror, she couldn’t believe how much weight she had lost!

She touched her smooth, fair cheeks and almost pointed chin with a bit of vanity, curiously talking to herself: ”...So this is what my jawbone looks like... It’s quite pretty.”

Lawrence, who was just heartbroken and disappointed because Kenneth Osborne hadn’t contacted her for three days, was immediately overwhelmed by the joy of losing weight.

She bent over, washed her face thoroughly, applied some skincare products, and brushed her hair, before supporting herself against the wall to walk out.

Back in the bedroom, the first thing she did was grab her phone again and take a bunch of selfies. She picked the nine best, perfect 360-degree angle shots and posted them to her moments.

The caption read: My favorite diet weapon is a fever! — Turns out a small face really benefits on camera!

Below was a nine-photo collage of the selfies.

Shortly after she posted, Edward Foster liked, commented, and messaged her in full-service style.

The comment went like this.

[Little Edward]: Beauty is just one word! I’m only saying this to Lawrence once! Haven’t seen you in three days, where have you been? Why don’t you answer the phone? Or reply to my messages? Crying.JPG.

The private message was like this.

[Little Edward]: Lawrence, you need to go to my family doctor’s clinic to change your bandages, right? Do you want me to pick you up?

Lawrence briefly glanced at the various messy messages Edward Foster had sent over the past three days, not bothering to reply, and directly responded to the one he just sent.

[Lawrence]: Thanks for the reminder, Little Edward, but you don’t need to pick me up. My family will take me there.

When Lawrence mentioned ”family,” Edward Foster got even more excited.

[Little Edward]: Really? Will your aunt be going too? I’ll head to the clinic first to wait for you guys. What kind of fruit does your aunt like to eat? I’ll bring some over?

Lawrence was dumbfounded for a moment before realizing who Edward was referring to as ”aunt.”

He meant her mother, Gabrielle Winters?

Why ask that?

Lawrence tugged at her mouth, replying: No need, my uncle will be taking me. Who’s your aunt anyway? Why would they be going?

Edward was extremely amused by Lawrence’s words, finding her feigned ignorance entertaining.

[Little Edward]: Our uncle is coming? That’s great, I haven’t met our uncle yet!

[Lawrence]: Little Edward, can you not be so familiar? I’m getting goosebumps. If you keep it up, I won’t go change my bandages.

Edward quickly stopped joking, hurriedly replying: I was just teasing you. I have a meeting to attend at the company soon, so I won’t have time to visit. Be good and get your bandages changed. Can I visit you after I finish my meeting?

Lawrence thought for a moment, then replied: My fever hasn’t completely subsided, let’s wait a few days. I’m still recovering.

Not outright refusing meant there was still hope, Edward felt he still had a good chance.

...

Lawrence changed clothes and, supporting herself against the wall, went in search of food in the dining room.

Nick Zeller and the old Daoist were having breakfast in the dining room.

Seeing her come in, both smiled at once.

”Do you feel better, Lawrence? Come here quickly, I predicted you’d be able to get out of bed today, so I made rose jujube sticky rice sea cucumber porridge to replenish your blood. It’s been simmering all night in the kitchen, all dissolved in the porridge.” The old Daoist said, hurrying to the kitchen to get her some porridge.

Nick helped her sit down, checked her forehead with concern, and nodded seeing her temperature was much better than a few days ago, ”A bit better, but still having a low fever.”

”Mm, I’m hungry.” Lawrence said with a smile, ”Uncle, after breakfast, will you take me to have my bandages changed?”

”No problem.” Nick readily agreed and glanced towards Lawrence’s room, ”Where’s your mom? Still packing for you?”

”My mom went back to sleep. She probably hasn’t had a good rest in days, right?” Lawrence was also concerned about Gabrielle Winters’ health, ”Do you still have any glucose? If not, I’ll buy some later to stock at home.”

Seeing that Lawrence was still as caring towards Gabrielle as before, Nick noted that she hadn’t been taking offense because of any harsh words Gabrielle had said.

He tentatively asked, ”...Lawrence, you’re not upset with your mom, are you?”

”Why would I be upset with my mom?” Lawrence reflexively replied with a smile, ”Mom and Uncle are doing it for my good, I know that. I’m just grateful you guys aren’t upset with me, why would I dare be upset with you? I’m very ingratiating.”

”Yes, you’re proud of being ingratiating.” Nick laughed, ruffling her hair and almost messing up her newly brushed hair.
