Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 511: Chapter 276: Teaching You to Be a Decent Person (Part 2)

Very soon, the elevator ascended directly to the large flat-floor elevator room of the top floor.

It was Aiden Sheldon’s first time here, but he remembered the renovation plans since he personally made the decisions and oversaw the remote coordination to complete the renovation back then.

After all these years, the furnishings here were still exactly the same as what he saw through the computer video.

He quickly found the study, walked in, opened the laptop bag, connected the laptop to the internet, and started investigating the whole saga.

The other party’s message was too short, but for him, having the time, place, and event was enough.

What he needed to do was to get the other party to release within three days.

T country is particularly interesting on the international stage, known as the ”Husky of nations.”

However, after Aiden Sheldon’s research, he found that what truly trapped our three international oil tankers wasn’t T country itself but the MHB Real Estate Investment Trust Fund Company, which controls the ports in T country, known internationally as a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust).

This type of company mainly uses investors’ money for various real estate investment management, among which ports are one of the most favored types of real estate for such investment companies.

And this MHB Real Estate Investment Trust Fund Company is not actually a T country company but an A country company.

A foreign company can manage exclusive ports and straits in another country.

This is quite interesting.

Now, look at the reasons this company has for holding our three oil tankers.

First, they claim our tankers did not submit a complete cargo list and technical equipment list.

Second, they claim there are hazardous materials on our tankers, threatening port safety, therefore not allowing passage.

Third, they claim our tankers are too long, and forcibly passing through the strait would cause irreversible damage to the ports on either side.

Then, the condition for release is a fine of one hundred billion A country currency.

Upon seeing these three reasons, Aiden Sheldon couldn’t help but sneer and curse softly: ”...bullshit!”

The first point is entirely deliberate, carrying crude oil. How could there be an incomplete cargo list declaration? Where’s the technical equipment?

The second point is simply nitpicking. Yes, crude oil can indeed catch fire, and saying it’s hazardous material is not wrong, but the problem is, how many tankers pass through this strait daily? How come it’s precisely the crude oil on our country’s tankers that’s hazardous?

The third point is completely unreasonable. Saying the tankers are too long will cause irreversible damage? But the problem is, this is not the first time these three tankers have passed through this strait.

They have crossed numerous times before; why is it not possible this year?

Clearly, they are being given a hard time.

The other party found him here for help, surely after having tried all normal channels and still unable to resolve it, hence turning to him.

There’s no way the hundred billion A country currency fine will be paid, not in this lifetime.

So they sought someone like Aiden Sheldon to teach others how to behave.

For him, his goal was to get the other party to release within three days.

Nothing else was within his concern, nor did he wish to be concerned.

Aiden Sheldon remained silent for a while, opened a web page on the computer, and began reviewing the annual financial report of MHB Corporation.

MHB is a listed company in A country, and A country has extremely regulated and strict management over its stock market.

As long as a company is listed, you can find all of its financial report data on the A country’s securities website.

Aiden Sheldon stayed up until midnight, finally finishing reviewing the financial report data of this company for nearly a decade and downloading it to his analysis software for recalculation.

He found a financial loophole in this company.

Due to this company’s significant worldwide expansion over the past five years, it borrowed a lot of bank debts, and since its main assets are real estate, what does this mean?

According to his calculations, this means that by mid-year, when most of the company’s corporate debts are about to mature, the company’s cash flow will be nearly exhausted.

And for any company, cash flow exhaustion means it’s on the brink of bankruptcy.

For a listed company, this issue is even more severe.

So this is why, using T country’s port, MHB had no choice but to extort passing ships to supplement its cash flow.

Unfortunately, they picked the wrong target to extort.

Aiden Sheldon checked the company’s stock price again.

Excellent, it’s over fifty A country currency per share.

Aiden Sheldon’s lips slowly curled, his pupils glinting, and a faintly bloodthirsty smile appeared.

Anyone who has seen Aiden Sheldon in action knows this is the moment when the renowned ”financial predator” is ready to strike and reveal its claws.
