Chapter 1298: Chapter 556: Postwar Affairs

Mathew Bade ultimately died, consumed by the Spiritual Vortex created by Laine, and he could never be resurrected again.

All the souls awakened by his Magic Art will revert to death—every ghost, zombie, skeleton, and ghoul will shiver endlessly, their reanimated corpses collapsing into dust and autumn leaves.

This was an unequivocal bitter battle. Laine was severely injured, using the Goddess of Revenge to prop himself up, gasping for breath, his mind somewhat chaotic.

Mathew Bade was indeed very powerful, exceptionally talented, and well-trained. Moreover, Akhan redirected the Black Chalice Knights’ strength to him, quickly nurturing such a Holy Sanctuary powerhouses.

If not for Laine’s sudden inspiration at the end, this battle might have lasted much longer, and the outcome would still be unknown.

Blood, is it? Laine stared at the body on the ground, silent.

He was most aware of the power contained within his blood, and looking at his wounds, Laine shook his head repeatedly.

This is an extraordinary means for extraordinary times, and shouldn’t be used often. Using one’s blood as a weapon or smearing it on weapons is the stuff of Chaos and a tribute to the Blood God Khorne. Doing this once or twice is forgivable, but if done regularly, he would sooner or later become the Chosen of Khorne.

Alternatively, if one constantly seeks to make trouble with their blood or worships it as a Holy Artifact, that’s the Holy Blood Angels, not the Grey Knights. Laine has always disliked the mysterious newbie rituals of those guys, even if necessary.

Black Fury Warning.

In the distance, the Green Knight, Duke Bohemond, and Duke Francois led the remaining army to sweep away everything. Those remaining human troops had long become a rabble. Laine noticed Knight King Richard charging and killing madly, his elderly figure charging at the front, using the fiercest tactics. Every strike from Richard was a life-for-life exchange.

He seeks death.

Laine understood Richard’s intention and smiled. His smile looked particularly gruesome because it tugged at his wounds. Obviously, the elderly Knight King couldn’t achieve his wish because with the Green Knight, Francois, and Bohemond charging forward, how could those rabble resist?

Furthermore, Kaled was insensitively guarding Richard’s side, protecting him. With such a Holy Sanctuary powerhouses guarding him, how could Richard encounter danger? The elderly Knight King’s expression was clearly unpleasant, unable to reprimand verbally, he could only suppress his resentment and use all his strength to kill the enemy.

”Hahaha~” Laine burst into laughter.

”You’re laughing? Damn it, you’re seriously injured!” The female sorcerer, leaning on her Magic Staff, quickly approached. Teresa’s black leather clothes accentuated her impressive figure, her long legs moving alternately, briskly running to Laine’s side: ”You okay?”

”Don’t worry, he won’t die!” Veronica, in a fiery red leather outfit, seemed less anxious than the worried sorceress and said with a hint of sarcasm: ”With this level of injury, it’s far from taking Laine’s life.”

Though she spoke as such, Veronica’s eyes were full of concern. The witch didn’t care as she tore open her long dress worth dozens of Gold Crowns, using it to bandage Laine’s wounds.

”It’s nothing serious, a few days of rest will be enough.” Laine, drenched in blood, looked particularly disheveled. Using the Goddess of Revenge to prop himself up, after the battle ended, Laine saw his two female courtiers approaching and flirted: ”Don’t believe me? Come tonight, and I’ll show you my...”

”Shut up! Laine, Tal’s teeth (human curse)! At this moment, what are you thinking?” Teresa reproached him a bit, clearly unhappy with Laine’s behavior, while Veronica gently patted Laine’s shoulder. She was about to say something when a sharp cry sounded from afar: ”Oh! No! No!!”

Theodoric, Duke of Borelion’s granddaughter, Fiona, lifted her skirt running from afar. She bypassed the fighting crowd, and due to her wearing luxurious Brittania noblewoman attire, the knights at combat automatically avoided her.

”Mathew Bade...No! No!” Fiona, holding her skirt in both hands, ran into the champion’s duel area on light feet. She immediately saw Mathew Bade’s corpse and the head thrown onto the ground by Laine.

Her face turned terribly pale, and in disbelief, Fiona slowly approached step by step; she kneeled on the ground: ”Mathew Bade? No, you can’t just die like this, you can’t just die like this! What about our wedding? You promised me a wedding!!!”

At last, Fiona’s tone and expression turned hysterically frantic as she grabbed Mathew Bade’s headless corpse’s chest, shaking it vigorously.

The beautiful young noblewoman was currently bawling, but her boyfriend could never answer her again.

”This woman?” Veronica instinctively held complete vigilance toward Fiona, gripping her Yundi’s Staff, aiming at Fiona, forming a standard fireball technique. The Fire Elemental Gas Mass burned in the air, emitting a scorching temperature.

Laine, however, burst into laughter and gestured toward Veronica to be less tense. The Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy laughed and said: ”Don’t be like this, dear, what do you think I am? I don’t need help.”
