Chapter 1255: Chapter 539: Behavioral Economics_3

”Of course, a small number of people would choose to cut their losses; I’m talking about most people here, not everyone.”

The crowd, after hearing this, seemed thoughtful.

This problem is actually quite similar to one Laine often faced in his previous life: the choice between ”a guaranteed one million or a fifty percent chance of five million, fifty percent of nothing.” Even though everyone knew the expected return of the second choice was higher, most would choose the first, as it offered a secure one million.

But if it turned into ”a guaranteed loss of one million or a fifty percent chance of losing five million, fifty percent chance of no loss,” most people would choose the second. They knowingly picked the larger expected loss because what if they hit the jackpot with no loss at all?

It’s worth emphasizing here, Laine refers to most people, not everyone, excluding the overly critical and those who are rational enough.

”You mean Mathew Bade might choose to compromise with Chaos because he also wants to break even, and the loss of Sharp-Top Palace is already a certain loss?” Mogiana reluctantly accepted Laine’s opinion, the Lake God Witch nodded understandingly: ”By compromising with Chaos, he either can retake Sharp-Top Palace, or the situation worsens, but he is willing to take the risk.”

”Exactly.” Laine nodded: ”Moreover, the benefits are not just recovering Sharp-Top Palace; the Chaos Demon Army can withstand our offensive, allowing Mathew Bade to concentrate his energy on dealing with Lorne and his troops, meaning whether Tzeentch’s Demon Army succeeds or not, at least they help Mathew Bade resist us, which is a stable profit.”

”Therefore, in summary, it is not surprising that undead would compromise with Chaos in difficulties.” Laine concluded: ”Thus, this issue is half solved, and I’m certain the undead will compromise with Chaos.”

After Laine’s analysis, the remaining four people in the tent were convinced, Jerald and Fidmund nodded repeatedly in agreement, even Mogiana, who had a firm attitude, wavered: ”If we go by Laine’s words, the undead indeed might have already compromised.”

”Then the question arises, the undead can compromise with Chaos, why would Chaos be willing to extend a helping hand to the undead?” Teresa, pleased her perspective was recognized by Laine, ignored Mogiana’s warning gaze and continued: ”First, we can be certain Chaos is not here to destroy, then there is only one possibility left.”

”The benefit the undead bring to Chaos is greater than destroying this place.”

”The Great Demon of Tzeentch must have received some promise.”

After hearing Laine’s words, everyone fell into deep thought.

At this moment, several bats suddenly flew into the tent from outside, and a Vampire Lord appeared at the tent entrance! He had a big bald head, deep-set eyes, a face as pale as a sheet of paper, devoid of any blood: ”It is searching for the Holy Artifact!”

”Who are you?” All present immediately drew their weapons, pointing at the Vampire Lord.

The Vampire Lord chuckled coldly, threw his weapon to the ground, then knelt on both knees, raising his hands, indicating surrender: ”Esteemed Laine Macado, I am the Vampire Baron, Har Harris, from the von Castain Clan. I come here to surrender to you, hoping you can forgive my sins!”

”Tree Realm Descent!!” Mogiana’s beautiful green eyes were full of hatred, the Lake God Witch raised her head and cast a spell, sturdy branches immediately bound the Vampire Baron tightly: ”Undead! What is your scheme this time?!”

Har Harris allowed himself to be sealed, the Vampire Baron’s black eyes stared at Laine: ”I said, I am here to surrender. Due to some compelling reasons, I can only surrender to you, Laine Macado, I have no choice.”

”You know I never forgive vampires.” Laine stood up: ”What makes you think I would accept your surrender?”

”Yes, I know.” Har Harris remained kneeling: ”But I have no choice.”

Having said that, the vampire from the von Castain Clan raised his head: ”Because I discovered an astounding secret! Great Blood Ancestor Vlad von Castain above! Damn Mathew Bade, he forsook the glory of the Midnight Nobles and surrendered to Chaos!”

”He no longer deserves to be our leader!”

”Only you can defeat him! Laine Macado!”
