Chapter 1263: Chapter 542: Landuin Tomb Grand Battle (Part 1)

The first wave of Tzeentch Demons’ attack was blocked, and under Laine’s command, the Knightly Army launched a counterattack. The knights charged under artillery cover, pushing back the Tzeentch Demons, shattering two Tzeentch Fiery War Chariots with their cavalry lances.

Yet, the Fate Weaver immediately realized the prowess of the Imperial Artillery. It extended its hand and chanted a spell, dozens of witchcraft flames descended from the sky, shattering the Hellstorm Rocket Cannons, melting several Imperial Engineers and dozens of Imperial Soldiers into residue amid the fire wave, turning the Nuer Black-bottomed Golden Lion’s banner into ashes.

Immediately after, the fingers of Carlos, the Fate Weaver, shimmered with crystalline light, and twisted witchcraft light enveloped the charging knights. As many as fifty knights under Carlos’s magic were instantly turned into twisted, bleeding lumps of flesh. Carlos then summoned three more phantom lights, sweeping through the long-halberd formation of Imperial Halberdiers and Laine’s Infantry Corps, turning the mortals into ash instantly.

The Fate Weaver was immensely pleased with its results, but when it sought to continue its casting, a sharp cry interrupted its spellcasting: ”Yurino Lightning Arrow!”

Lake God Witch Mogiana appeared holding the Potion Chalice, which had turned red by then. The Light of the Lake God reverberated across the battlefield, dispelling the power of Chaos Magic. In this moment, Mogiana’s face was twisted with rage, Magic Wind howling around her, as she raised her hand to cast a lightning arrow straight at the Great Demon of Tzeentch: ”Die!”

The Fate Weaver directly raised its hand to grasp Mogiana’s lightning arrow, crushing the over one-meter-thick bolt into pieces. Carlos disdainfully glanced at the first Divine Chosen of the Lake God, knowing that despite the opponent’s potent magic ability, it still paled in comparison to its own.

”Metal Torrent!” An alchemical spell—it rained two to three dozen scorching metal torrents from the sky. The Lake God Witch had to summon a Thorn Shield to block them immediately.

The fierce assault by the Chaos Demons continued, as Tzeentch Wizards joined the battlefield from above on Tzeentch Flying Discs. Whenever the Tzeentch Cultists waged war, they often carried banners and emblems emblematic of their unit’s splendid glory. It was a meticulously crafted Magic Banner, its mysterious runes and demonic totem interwoven with an extremely scorching magic flame; the Lord of Change always delighted in seeing its followers enter battle carrying these banners.

The Fate Weaver immediately signaled all troops to advance, launching a fierce assault on the central army, with hundreds of Tzeentch Fire Demons launching fireballs simultaneously. The Nuer Musketeers, Dwarf Thunder Gunners, and Laine’s Musket Battalion could barely withstand this rain-like barrage of fireballs, forcing them to retreat under Laine’s command.

As they retreated, the frontline soldiers immediately lost their fire cover, and their pressure intensified several times over.

Under the spellcasting of Tzeentch Wizards, the fires of hatred swept through the formations of the Knightly Army, slaughtering both peasants and noble knights alike. The once tightly-knit formations were plowed into deep furrows, and the Great Demon of Tzeentch shrewdly seized this opportunity. As the reserve troops had yet to fill the gap, the battle hymn of praise to Tzeentch already echoed across the battlefield.

A whole line collapsed, with thousands of human soldiers and hundreds of dwarves perishing to the claws of the Chaos Demons and the sorcery of Tzeentch, painting the sky in vibrant colors.

A blaze enveloped more than twenty human soldiers still fiercely resisting, melting them into a pool of blood. Carlos, the Fate Weaver, the first Great Demon under Tzeentch’s command, had personally joined the battlefield.

The situation grew increasingly dire; Long Halberd Soldier Captain Remon was forced to lead his fewer than a hundred halberdiers as a reserve to withstand the Chaos Demons’ attack. Even knowing the slim chance of victory, these soldiers charged, crying out in the name of the Lake Fairy.

It was Lord Laine who saved us from hunger; it was Lord Laine who made us wealthy. Even though these soldiers knew it was impossible to change the course of the battle, they still fought tenaciously because the tide of Chaos Demons was breaching into the central army, while both Francois and Bohemond were caught in bitter fights on either side. Carlos, the Fate Weaver, mocked humanity’s overestimation of their abilities, raising its magic staff with the intent to permanently eliminate this group of humans.

A piercing cry moved even faster than its actions, as the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy appeared just in time to save the central army from crisis. The immense Griffin Empress unleashed a blast of lightning, interrupting Carlos’s action. Laine, riding the griffin, descended from the sky, tearing apart the body of a Tzeentch Demon with razor-sharp claws, silver Spiritual Flames blazing in his hands. His warhammer also erupted with flames, with the hammer’s head striking lightning aimed at the Fate Weaver’s body.

Carlos easily dodged to the side, letting the lightning bolt shatter a Chaos Demon at its side. In the eternity it foresaw, it had already seen through Laine’s moves. The Fate Weaver raised its magic staff to block Laine’s fierce strike: ”Champion of the Lake Pseudo-God, have you truly not considered changing your master?”

”Your opponent is me!” Laine’s eyes were ablaze with fury.

”And me!” Kaled charged in from the side on his beloved horse, slicing through dozens of Tzeentch Demons with the Divine Sword Durandal.

”I’m coming too!” Lake God Witch Mogiana unleashed a Chain Lightning Slaying over a hundred Tzeentch Demons. Riding on Unicorn Hillphain, she joined the battle: ”Chaos Demons! Accept the Lady’s judgment!”

”Very well! You all come at me together!” The Great Demon of Tzeentch, on the contrary, was extremely pleased: ”Today I will let you witness my power! Everything is fate’s choice; the Master of Destiny had long foreseen this moment!”

”Today I will stain the sky red with the blood of the Brittania people!”

”Praise the Lord of Change! Praise Saint Tzeentch!!!”
