Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 1272: Chapter 546: Infinite Martial Training

”Go! Champion of the Lady!”

”Oh!”

On the swamps of Musillon, before the shattered graveyard, under the gaze of the crowd, after the battle with the Chaos Great Demon, it was the duel between Laine and Landuin.

Landuin was very tall; compared to Laine, who was nearly 1.9 meters, Landuin was definitely over 2 meters, his form was strong and powerful, yet his speed was incredibly swift.

The First Duke of Musillon, the Lake Knight, sidestepped twice and immediately sprinted towards Laine, leaving behind a residual image under the gloomy sky, his cloak imprinted with the black and yellow Iris Family crest whirled once in the air.

In the blink of an eye, Landuin was already before Laine.

Laine’s expression was solemn; the wounds he received in the battle with Great Tzeentch Demon Carlos were still faintly aching, but the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy knew that at this crucial moment, no excuses were needed, nor could they be made.

Just as Landuin said, if you want to prove your qualification to become the Duke of Musillon, first you must defeat him.

Then, let it begin!

Laine raised the Goddess of Revenge and swung out his strike horizontally.

”Ding!” The Undead met the Goddess of Revenge, clashing and sparking wildly; the sword in Landuin’s hand, the Undead, unlike Laine’s Goddess of Revenge—a hand half sword—its blade was shorter, adorned with intricate High Elf patterns, where waves of energy flowed along, with a magic sheen like water rippling through the air.

”Clang!” The strike was blocked, Landuin immediately withdrew his sword; the First Duke of Musillon’s moves were expansive and forceful, he held his sharp sword towards the sky and then swiftly slashed down at Laine’s head, Laine immediately blocked, the clash of blades sparked countless sparks.

Landuin’s immense strength could even overwhelm an average Giant Dragon, yet Laine was not an ordinary human; he tenaciously resisted Landuin’s fierce assault, and even the strongest strike of the First Holy Grail Knight, powerful enough to slay a Giant Demon, could not force Laine back!

”Humph!” No expression adorned Landuin’s handsome face, only the corners of his eyes slightly raised, as he retreated a step and thrust a sudden jab upward with the Undead, the sharp sword emanating divine power sliced through the air.

”Ding!” Laine was ready to block upward when suddenly facing the upward thrust, he immediately adjusted the block, barely managing to deflect the strike.

Landuin’s attacks were incredibly fast; just as Laine blocked the thrust, the First Holy Grail Knight effortlessly spun his sword, sweeping out a residual shadow in the air.

Laine was finally forced to sidestep and dodge the attack.

”What’s wrong, Champion of the Lady?” The Lake Knight taunted, ”Merely dodging and blocking won’t win you this duel! If you don’t think of defeating me, you’re bound to suffer a disgraceful defeat.”

”...” Laine remained silent, gripping the Goddess of Revenge tightly, gauging Landuin’s movements.

This battle was unfair from the start.

Landuin was at the Holy Sanctuary Peak, his strength nearly reaching that of a Demigod; every strike was potent enough to slay formidable foes and Fierce Beasts, he clearly knew Laine and was familiar with his swordsmanship, while Laine knew nothing of Landuin’s combat skills.

But still, the point remains, this is not an excuse for Laine’s failure!

To rush in foolishly now would be the most foolish; Laine knew he must hold his ground before attempting a counter.

”Ding!”

”Clang!”

The series of hammering sounds rang continuously, dense as rain, before Landuin’s grave, on Musillon’s swamp, this grand champion duel commenced between the legendary hero, the First Duke of Musillon, the great Lake Knight Landuin, and the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy, Count Glamorgan, the Pious Laine Macado!

Landuin unleashed all his proud combat skills accumulated over a lifetime, his will, technique, and physical prowess at their peak; through decades of warfare, Landuin had honed his skills and experience to the utmost, integrating the dominant swordsmanship of the Lake Knight, filled with endless combat experiences into his momentum, once after another, relentlessly overwhelming Laine.

But Laine’s strength was equally formidable, the lightning formed by Spiritual Energy rolled around him, contained explosive energy akin to thunder, bursts of lightning cracked around him, the Goddess of Revenge thrust, swept, struck, blocked, all his moves fluid and uninterrupted, Laine’s swordsmanship did not rely on speed or force, but balanced both hard and soft, the Goddess of Revenge consistently deflected Landuin’s attacks with a unique rhythm.

Nonetheless, Laine was firmly suppressed, the onlookers only saw Landuin’s relentless assault, while Laine struggled to defend, the dense hammering and roaring sounds rising wave after wave.

This battle akin to that of divine warriors left the crowd in awe, especially the Holy Grail Knights, with nothing but respect and admiration in their eyes.

Is this the power of Landuin? Or is this the reason Laine could become the Divine Chosen Champion?!

”If not for the divine artifacts they wield, this intense battle would have long worn out the weapons.” The King of the Angland Clan, Belgar, standing on his Oath Stone, grumbled as he watched the battlefield, ”Alright, I hope the Laine Brothers win.”
