Chapter 1284: Chapter 550: Life at Its Peak_3

The nobles dispatched their troops one after another, clearing the way.

As the ranks continued to swell, Mathew Bade initiated his own war for kingship.

The early spring sunshine was so bright and captivating, with the chirping of birds and fragrant flowers a common sight in the field. The snow began to melt, heralding another spring, as Mathew Bade led all his forces into the wild.

Along the way, those line upon line of Knight’s Castles either sent out knights to join his ranks or shut their gates and did not emerge. With the Northern Knight Path army suffering heavy losses, no knightly nobility dared to venture out for a field battle against this grand army.

Mathew Bade did not attack these castles but passed by because he ultimately desired to become King rather than destroy the Kingdom.

Thus, he smoothly bypassed Leonais, entered the Le Anglong Duchy. The duchy, bearing the ”Blue Sea Monster” insignia, was trembling before Mathew Bade, with only some brave Champion Knights or Kingdom Knights daring to issue challenges of champion duels to Mathew Bade, which Musillon’s Viper accepted one by one.

Having fully integrated all the techniques, strength, and experience of the Black Chalice Knight, Mathew Bade was undefeated. He slaughtered all the Brittania Knights who challenged him on the spot, while Musillon’s Viper magnanimously spared the challengers’ families and castles, stating that if they opposed him, they should challenge him, as he would not refuse any challenge.

Indeed, as Mathew Bade claimed, he engaged in no looting or plundering along the way. He merely issued champion duel invitations time and again, defeating opponents, earning the recognition of his own people quickly.

It seemed Mathew Bade truly was wronged and only sought to reclaim what was his. Under his leadership, Brittania might genuinely usher in a new era.

Hence, the army’s morale soared, and opportunists were convinced that Mathew Bade would become the new King of Brittania!

After two weeks, Mathew Bade and his army gradually approached Kulona, with the knights within the formation singing the new military song composed by Mathew Bade.

”The Sannes River waves surge, Gray Mountain Range clouds swirl high~”

”In this dim and murky world, I stand alone, righteous fury burns with fervent blood~”

”The mighty care only for noble stature, genuinely concerned for the kingdom are none among them~”

........

”Knights march beneath the clear skies, the army united for justice!”

”A million soldiers dwell within my chest, fallen irises scatter in the breeze!”

”The heavens thunder, the earth trembles, roaring with a mighty sound!”

”Eternal sleepers can find no rest, a new king rises today!”

Mathew Bade, mounted on his Undead Warhorse, was dazzled by the afternoon sun. As he gazed afar, he saw his legion covering the entire field, with the colorful array of family crests and banners standing tall. All soldiers obeyed his command, and the patches of armor reflected dazzling light under the sun...

Kulona was not far, and the garrison of dozens of castles and towns had been so intimidated by Mathew Bade that they dared not emerge for battle. Every knight who dared challenge him was defeated, and with an army of tens of thousands in hand, he was merely one step from the throne. The feelings of anxiety and frustration from being suppressed by Laine all this time finally vanished without a trace from Mathew Bade’s chest.

For some ineffable reason, Mathew Bade only felt warmth throughout his body, sensing an empty satisfaction encompassing him.

Oh, what exhilaration! It felt as though life had reached its zenith!
