Chapter 1253: Chapter 539: Behavioral Economics

Teresa’s sudden idea made all the knights in the tent focus their gaze on her. The female sorcerer held the Violet Staff and seriously said, ”Is it possible that Chaos and the Undead have reached a fragile alliance?”

”It’s not completely impossible.” Laine was the first to partially agree with Teresa’s view, which gave the female sorcerer a small sense of joy. However, the Lake God Witch Mogiana immediately refuted, ”I don’t mean to target you, Lady Teresa, but an alliance between the Undead and Chaos? What would be the point?”

”What would be the point?” Teresa naturally took over the conversation and cautiously glanced at Laine’s expression.

Laine had a hint of curiosity and interest on his face, which greatly encouraged Teresa. The female sorcerer ignored the somewhat displeased looks from the dozen Holy Grail Knights and over twenty Great Noble Knights in the tent and continued directly, ”Of course, it’s due to pressure, immense pressure forcing the Undead and Chaos to unite.”

After speaking, Teresa pointed a white lace-gloved hand at the map, ”Look, previously, the Sharp-Top Palace has already fallen, and according to the news, the northern army of Lorne has surrounded Richard Castle. If I were Musillon’s Viper, I would certainly realize by now that the Undead are in dire straits.”

”At this moment, the Undead have already suffered huge losses attacking the Sharp-Top Palace, losing many Blood Knights and Black Chalice Knights, and the last Fear Beast also died under Laine’s sword. Now, Musillon’s Viper gives up recapturing Sharp-Top Palace to immediately head north to relieve Richard Castle, facing great pressure on military strength. The Viper should be forced to seek allies, because if they can’t quickly break Lorne and his knightly army, when our forces gather, attacking from both sides, the Viper won’t stand a chance and will have to retreat to Musillon again.” Teresa continued, ”If so, we can prepare for a long siege of Musillon this time with ample preparation.”

”Therefore, forced by circumstances, Mathew Bade reached an agreement with Chaos, forming the Alliance Army, and the Chaos Demon Army destroyed the Sharp-Top Palace, relieving pressure on the south side of Musillon.” This was Teresa’s final summary. After speaking, the female sorcerer looked at Laine expectantly, waiting for his evaluation.

”Ha!” Who knew before Laine could speak, Mogiana let out a cold laugh. The Lake God Witch’s exquisite face was filled with majesty and iciness, she said in a deep voice, ”Lady Teresa, although logically there’s no problem with your judgment, I must ask, if it’s indeed like this, what does Chaos gain? Why would they help the Undead?”

”For destruction and slaughter?” Teresa tried to maintain elegance, ”The Undead must have reached an agreement with Chaos...”

”No, unlikely.” Laine interrupted Teresa, also gesturing for Mogiana to listen, ”The Undead’s goal is domination. Whether it’s Mathew Bade or the Witch Demon King Akhan, their goal is to establish a realm of the dead on this land granted by the Goddess. As for Chaos, what they want is...”

”...destruction, complete destruction.” Mogiana stared at Teresa, ”The Undead wants conquest and domination, while Chaos desires destruction. The two sides can’t agree unless under extreme circumstances. But the current situation for Musillon’s Viper hasn’t reached that level yet. There have been times when Dark Elf Pirates and Northern Barbarians allied to raid southward against the Empire and Brittania’s Alliance Army, but their opponent is the Chaos Demon Army.”

The Chaos Demon Army are beings of Subspace, and even with the Evil God’s full support, they cannot linger in the Mortal World for long before the Great Guardian and Great Vortex fail.

”Hmm... we have too little intelligence right now.” Laine shook his head in frustration, gesturing for Mogiana and Teresa not to dwell on this. The Count himself loudly said, ”For now, we will recuperate in the camp at Charon Forest. I have already written to Francois and Bohemond requesting support. Once their army arrives, we will consult again. Please remember, the Chaos Demon Army’s combat power is unmatched by any mortal army. Do not foolishly attack due to rashness!”

Everyone is aware of the Chaos Demon Army’s might. Without gathering a truly large army, it is impossible to defeat this army led by Carlos, the Fate Weaver, under Tzeentch.

”Yes!” The crowd adjourned. Due to unfavorable war conditions, the knights all felt somewhat dejected as they slowly left the tent, returning to their own tents to rest.

”Fidmund, Jerald, stay back.” Laine gestured for Fidmund and Jerald to remain.

Five people quickly remained in the tent: Laine, Teresa, Mogiana, and Fidmund, Jerald, sitting around a table, looking at the map.

Outside the tent, it seemed to be drizzling, and the night of early spring was very cold. Even with a fire pot in the tent, the cold wind still blew relentlessly.

The five in the tent were unafraid of the cold. After sitting down, Laine first arranged for everyone to have dinner together. Tonight’s dinner was grilled beef and lamb chops, stewed broccoli, and corn chowder. The main course was fine cream bread, paired with low-alcohol sweet sparkling apple cider.
