Chapter 1271: Chapter 545: Lake Knight Landuin (3)

History always cycles back, endlessly alive.

After paying their respects in order, the army dispersed, leaving only Lake God Witch Mogiana, all Holy Grail Knights, several commanders of the Wood Elf, and Angland Clan Leader Belgar, about a few dozen people. The rest of the army was ordered to leave the area.

Laine also knelt on one knee before the tomb, as Landuin’s contributions to the Knight Kingdom during the tumultuous and war-ridden years deserved Laine’s utmost respect. Moreover, since Laine sought the title of Duke of Musillon, he also needed to pay homage to Landuin to affirm his rightful claim.

After completing the entire set of rituals, Laine stood up and took out Mjolnir. The Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy wore a sorrowful expression: ”Forgive me, Lord Landuin, forgive me.”

The Holy Grail Knights were silent, and Mogiana closed her eyes.

”Boom!” Mjolnir struck Landuin’s Tomb, shattering the tombstone.

”Boom!” The grave cast in iron could not withstand Laine’s warhammer, as rubble scattered and iron fragments shattered.

”Boom!”

With repeated heavy strikes, Landuin’s Tomb opened, revealing the remains of the most esteemed first Holy Grail Knight to all present.

A millennium had passed; Landuin’s remains had long decayed, now only remnants of flesh clinging to bones and liquefied material adhering to the dead bone. Within Landuin’s corpse, a potent Chaos Corruption clashed with a formidable will, and beside the remains lay Landuin’s sword ”Knights Do Not Die Unarmed” and cavalry lance ”Unbreakable Lake Light.”

”What is this?!” Everyone turned pale at the sight of Landuin’s remains.

Only Laine remained composed, ignoring the Chaos Corruption and striding forward. His hand, burning with Spiritual Fire, pressed upon the dead bone as the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy purified the entire skeleton.

The Holy Light of the Lake Fairy opened the sky, and the Goddess’s power pierced the heavens. The Holy Grail Knights devoutly chanted the name of the Lake Fairy, while their mistress smiled upon them. The Goddess, dressed in a low-cut Muse evening gown of honey-clear dew, highlighted her perfect form, her ankle-length golden hair spectacularly dazzling. She extended her hand as a soul departed from her Divine Kingdom, descending to the Mortal World.

The soul was brilliant and pure, radiating golden halos that inspired heartfelt admiration, evoking reverence from the depths of the soul.

In the gaze of the onlookers, it settled upon Landuin’s remains.

This was a knight whose handsome appearance was beyond that of mortals, embodying traits of elegance, generosity, devotion, and courtesy. He was shrouded entirely in the divine power of the Lake Fairy. The Heroic Spirit looked sadly upon his tomb and Musillon’s current corruption and fall from grace, remaining silent.

He was Landuin, the First Duke of Musillon, Arthur’s best companion, and the great Lake Knight.

Laine and the others stepped back two paces, awaiting his response.

”In the end, I have been awakened,” Landuin said slowly, sadness etched deeply in his face: ”I am a sinner, unforgivable. It was I who let Musillon become what it is today.”

”But I still have a mission to fulfill.” Suddenly, Landuin grasped his sword and with a long howl, to the amazement of those present, swung it forcefully at his own neck.

The body of the Heroic Spirit was cut open, and a thick blood fog emerged from the wound on Landuin’s neck.

Laine was stunned speechless by this scene.

Everything did not end, as the blood fog grew larger and thicker, swiftly a robust arm of flesh and bone extended from the neck wound.

This hand grasped the sword ”Knights Do Not Die Unarmed,” and a stout Middle-aged Holy Sanctuary Holy Grail Knight dressed in full bright silver enchanted plate armor, draped with a black background yellow Iris Family crest cloak, his mid-length black hair emerged from within the shattered Heroic Spirit body. The knight’s iron boots fell onto Musillon’s marsh.

His whole being radiated silvery light, like a human deity in ancient myths who fought the Chaos Great Demon, standing proudly between heaven and earth.

”This is the Lady’s expectation of me, a duty I must fulfill. I have committed too many sins; I must take responsibility for my wrongs.”

”Laine Macado! Divine Chosen Champion of the Lady! Attack me! If you truly wish to become Duke of Musillon, then defeat me! Defeat me, the First Duke of Musillon, to prove your worth!” In full glory, Landuin raised his sword, shouting towards Laine: ”Draw your blade! Laine Macado!”

Laine nodded calmly, gesturing for everyone to step back, grasping the sword hilt.

Goddess of Revenge unsheathed.

”Then, please guide me!”
